You can also double-click the MDA icon   on Windows Desktop to launch the program.A dialog prompting you to enter ID and password will appear. Enter the default password 0000 and click OK.The Multi-Display Administrator home screen will appear if you are successfully logged in.You can change the ID and password in the Security menu. You can create and edit display groups for management purposes. For example, if you select a display group and change settings on the Control panel, the command will be sent to all displays in the same display group.Shows information, current status and settings of the display or display group selected on the Monitor list panel. Appendix: Using Multi-Display Administrator 35Managing displaysSearching for displaysAfter you finish connecting display(s) to the computer, what you need to do next is to let the Multi-Display Administrator search for the displays and add them to the Monitor list panel.Ethernet (LAN) connection1. Click Search on the Toolbar. A dialog will appear asking you to specify the Commu-nication Protocol.2. Select Network, and click OK. The dialog below will follow.3. Click to select a suitable option:• If you want the Multi-Display Administrator to search for all displays on the same network, select Search Network for all Displays.• If you only want to search for a display with a specific IP address, click Search Network With Display IP Address, and then enter the IP address of the display.4. Click Search. The Multi-Display Administrator will start searching for displays on the network, and the progress will be indicated in the Status area.5. Click Close when the search is complete. The display(s) found will be listed on the Monitor list panel.Managing displays on the Monitor list panelAfter displays are searched and added to the Monitor list panel, you can perform various operations to manage the displays.The connection status of displays on the Monitor list panel is indicated by the icons below:•  : the display is connected (online)•  : the display is not connected (offline). You can click Re-connection on the Tool bar to re-connect to the display.
Appendix: Using Multi-Display Administrator36Tagging a displayIf displays are connected to the computer via Ethernet connection, they are named after their IP addresses on the Monitor list panel by default. You can give these displays different names (tags) for easier identification.1. On the Monitor list panel, right-click on the display you want to add a tag, and select Add Tag.2. Enter the tag name in the dialog that follows, and click OK.3. The tag you just added will appear in parentheses in front of the display’s IP address. Creating a groupYou can create display groups for management purposes. For example, if you select a group and change settings on the Control panel, the command will be sent to all displays in the same group.1. On the Monitor list panel, right-click on the Group node, and select Make Group.2. Enter the group name in the dialog that follows, and click OK.3. A new group will be created under the Group node.

The selected group will be deleted.Adding displays to an existing group1. On the Monitor list panel, right-click on a display you want to add to a display group and select Add to Group.2. In the dialog that appears, select the group to which the display will be added, and then click Select.3. The display will be added to the group you selected.Deleting a display from a group1. On the Monitor list panel, right-click on a display you want to delete from a display group and select Delete.2. The selected display will be deleted from the group.You can also drag a display and drop it to a group.

The selected display will be deleted.Setting display ID automatically If displays are connected to the computer via Ethernet connection, you can use this function to set IDs for the displays automatically.1. On the Monitor list panel, right-click on the Single node and select Auto Set ID.2. The IDs of the displays will be assigned automatically.Saving and loading display configuration filesWith this function, you can save display settings on the Control panel as a configuration file (*.ini file) for backup purpose, and load the file when you want to restore these settings.1. On the Monitor list panel, right-click on a display and select Save Configure.2. Specify the location where the file will be saved, and then click Save. To load a configuration file, right-click on a display on the Monitor list panel and select Load Configure.If a display is deleted under the Single node, it will also be deleted from the group to which it belongs.

You can also click Set by PC Time to set the display to use the current time on the computer.Time Schedule SettingAllows you to specify on and off time schedules.1. Set a repeat mode by checking a Repeat checkbox. (Every Day, Mon., Tu e .  ..., etc.)2. Set On Time (the time when the display will be turned on) and Off Time (the time when the display will be turned off).3. Select an input source that will be used when the display is turned on from the Select Video Source drop-down list.4. Specify the number of the schedule in the No. drop-down list.5. Click Security on the Toolbar. The following dialog will appear. 2. Enter current ID and password in the ID and Password fields, and then click Confirm. If the ID and password are verified successfully, you can continue to the next step.3. Enter the new ID and password in the ID, Password and Verify fields below, and then click Change.Changing languageYou can change the user interface language of the Multi-Display Administrator whenever necessary.To change language, click About on the Toolbar and select a preferred language.The ID and password can be changed, however, you cannot create multiple ID and password combinations.The ID and password are case-sensitive. You can use alphanumeric and special characters such as !,@,#,$,%,&,*,-,_,=,+,? for the ID and password.

Safety warnings and precautions• The mains plug of the power supply cord shall remain readily operable. The AC receptacle (mains socket outlet) shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible. To completely disconnect this equipment from the AC mains, disconnect the power cord plug from the AC receptacle.• Do not place this display on an uneven, sloping or unstable surface (such as a trolley) where it may fall and cause damage to itself or others.• Do not place this display near water, like a spa or pool, or in a position which will allow the splashing or spraying of water onto the display, like in front of an open window where rain water may enter.• Do not install this display in a confined space without proper ventilation and air circulation, such as in a closed cabinet. Allow proper space around the display for dissipating heat inside. Do not block any openings and vents on the display. Overheating may result in hazards and electric shock.• Installation of this display should only be performed by a qualified technician. Failure to install this display properly may cause injuries and damages to the personnels and the display itself. Check the installation regularly and maintain the display periodically to ensure the best working condition.• Use only the accessories approved or recommended by the manufacturer to mount this display. Using wrong or unsuitable accessories may cause the display to fall and result in serious personal injuries.
