[Package contents] Ensure that the items mentioned below are all included in the package. If any item is missing, please contact the dealer. Bluetooth Stereo Headset HCS-100 User manual Stereo headset User manual Charger Before use [Description of parts] (Left) Ear loop Volume controls FWD/RWD Multifunction button Status LED Charging port Microphone (Right) Ear loop Before use [Wearing] Check the left/right side of the headset and wear it appropriately. Adjust the ear loop to fit in your ear if necessary. Right Left [Charging] Open the cover and insert the charger completely into the charging slot until the status LED glows red. Note that connecting the charger while the power is on will turn off the headset. Left The buttons on the headset will not function while charging. Before use Charge your headset until the status LED turns off. The unit will be fully charged in approximately 2.5 h. WARNING : Do not attempt to charge the HCS-100 with any charger other than the one provided. Using another charger may damage or destroy the headset. [Low battery] The status LED will flash red with a beeping sound that would indicate that the battery charge is low. Charge the battery as soon as the abovementioned phenomenon is detected. The headset will turn off when the battery is not charged. [Check battery level] By pressing the fast forward button and reward button simultaneously in standby mode, you can check the battery level by number of red flashes. Number of red flashes 4 flashes 3 flashes 2 flashes 1 flash Music streaming time More than 7 h More than 4 h More than 1 h Up to 1h How to use [Power on] 1. Press and hold for 2 s. 2. You will hear a beep and the blue status LED will briefly flash rapidly for 5 times. [Power off] 1. Press and hold for 5 s. 2. You will hear a beep and the blue status LED will briefly flash rapidly for 5 times. [Pairing] Before using your headset with mobile phone or MP3 player for the first time, you must pair it with your Bluetooth devices (For the detailed set up and pairing instructions with Bluetooth devices, please consult your Bluetooth device user guide). 1. Begin with the headset turned off; then, press and hold down for 5 s. 2. You will hear two short beeps, and the status LED will first begin to flash red and then blue. 3. Go to the Bluetooth menu in your mobile phone and search for stereo headset. How to use 4. Select “HCS-100” from the list of searched devices. 5. When prompted for a passkey, enter 0000. 6. A beep will sound when the devices are paired successfully. The HCS-100 will turn off automatically if it stays in the “pairing mode” for over 3 min without being paired to any device. In this case, you have to reattempt the pairing process (see abovementioned steps). The connection can be made automatically after pairing depending on the features of different models of mobile phones. [Connecting] To use the headset after pairing (or after losing the connection), you should connect it to the paired mobile phone. For more details regarding the connection method, please refer to the manual of your Bluetooth mobile phone. Multiconnection You can connect your HCS-100 with two devices to enable music playing and phone connectivity at the same time. It means that your mobile phone will be paired with the headset/ hands-free profile(s) and your MP3 player will be paired with the A2DP and the AVRCP. How to use 1. Connect your HCS-100 with MP3 player. 2. Power off the HCS-100 by pressing for 5 s (The connection will drop with MP3 player). 3. Put your HCS-100 in standby mode and connect/pair to mobile phone by headset/hands-free profiles. 4. Press for once shortly. 5. MP3 player is paired with A2DP and AVRCP and the mobile phone is paired with the headset/hands-free profile(s). Auto reconnection 1. When the headset turns off while connecting The headset will be automatically reconnected without the paring process when power is supplied. If the headset was connected in multiconnection, then it will be multi connected. (the mobile phone connected previously should be within 10 m from the headset). 2. Out of range The headset will be automatically reconnected when it is brought back within a 10 m range of the phone within 3 min. Note that if the headset is out of range in multiconnection mode, then it will not be automatically reconnected. Please connect it refer to the next “Connection with the recently connected device”. How to use When out of range (greater than 10 m), the connection between the headset and the Bluetooth device will be dropped. If the headset and the Bluetooth device have been separated for over 3 min, up to 10 min will be required for auto reconnection. Connection with the recently connected device HCS-100 can be connected with the recently connected device as follows. 1. In case of multiconnection Hands-free function: Press for once briefly. Stereo headset function: Press for twice briefly. 2. In case of non-multiconnection Press for once shortly. How to use [Answering a call] The headset and mobile phone will ring simultaneously when an incoming call is received. You can answer a call by pressing briefly (The call can also be answered using the mobile phone). The music will stop temporarily while music is playing and after call ends, music will be played again. In case of multiconnection, MP3 player will not be played depending on the features of different models of devices. [Making a call] Voice dialing* Press and release once. You will hear the voice-activation tone; say the registered name on the voice dialing list after one short beep. This function is only available if your mobile phone supports the voice dialing function and the headset is paired as a hands-free device. If your mobile phone does not support voice dialing, the headset will activate the last number redial feature. The headset may not activate any action; this again depends on the features of different models of mobile phones. 10 How to use Last number redialing * Press and hold for 2 s; this will activate the last number redial feature. Subject to different models of mobile phone, it will show you the recently dialed call list; then, you can press and hold for 2 s again to make a call. [Ending a call] To end a call, briefly press [Volume control] Briefly press the volume up or volume down button located at the side of the headset in order to control the speaker volume. Eight levels of volume control are available. [Functions during a call] Transferring a call* Briefly press to transfer a call from your mobile phone to your headset while on a call (the headset and the mobile phone must be connected prior to this process). To transfer a call from your headset to your mobile phone, press and hold the volume up button for 1 s. 11 How to use Call waiting* Answer the second incoming call without ending the first call by pressing for 1 s. To return to the first call, simply press again for 1 s. Call reject* To activate the call reject function, press incoming call is detected. for 1 s when an Mute To activate the mute function, press the volume down button for 5 s; this will mute the sound. When the call mute function is activated, you will hear a beep periodically. To release the call mute function, press the volume down button for 5 s again. The *(star) mark indicates that these functions are only available with a hands-free profile, and the connected mobile phone should support these functions.
