QuickStartGuide Acoustic Research AR-M2 www.acoustic-research.com Congratulations on purchasing your new Acoustic Research High Resolution Music Player. Please read these instructions for quick tips on using the Player. General controls Volume Power on/off button Skip back Line out USB Port Headphones Jack Touch Display Play/pause LINE OUT Getting Started 100-240 V AC wall outlet 1. Charging your Player with provided AC/DC adapter • Connect the USB port of the included AC/DC power adapter to the Player AC/DC power Player • Plug the other end of the adapter to any standard adapter 100-240V AC wall outlet. Charging should be started automatically • It should be charged for at least 6 hours before using for the first time USB connector cable • Alternatively, the Player charges automatically every time you connect it to your computer. Charging * Use only the provided AC/DC adapter * Image is for reference only, the AC/DC adapter shown in the image process may be slower and the charging time may vary from the actual product depends on the current output of the USB port * Music playback during battery charging is possible, but it will slow Skip forward microSD expansion slot LINE OUT Switch on the Player Switch off the Player Switch off the display and lock the touch display down the charging process 2. Install or remove microSD card • Open the protection cover of the microSD expansion slot. Gently insert a microSD card* into the microSD expansion slot. Close the protection cover • Before removing a microSD card, tap on SD card connected - Touch to unmount sdcard on the notification bar. After that, open the protection cover and gently push the card to release it * Up to 128 GB microSD card is supported Switch on the display and unlock the touch display Go to the Home screen Go to the APPS menu v1.0 (1.0.0.0) (EN) Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds. Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds. Select Power off. When the display is on, press the Power button. The display will also switch off automatically after a period of inactivity (1 minute by default) When the display is off, press the Power button. Swipe the lock icon towards any edges of the screen. Tap on the Home icon to reached the Home screen At Home screen, tap on the APPS icons at the lower right corner 3. Transfer audio files to your Player Windows 7/Windows 8: • Connect your Player to the computer • Open Windows Explorer, select Computer, open AR-M2 under Portable Devices • Open the desired storage media Internal SD card or SD card (Optional, only if microSD card is installed) • Drag-and-drop audio files (or folders containing audio files) to the desired destination** Navigate to an audio file In APPS menu, tap on AR Music Player In AR Music Player, tap on your desired view by selecting the corresponding tab Play an audio file Tap the music file in any view Mac OS X (10.5 or above): Download and install Android File Transfer from www.android.com/filetransfer/ (First time installation only) Connect your Player to the computer Run Android File Transfer if it does not pop up autoatically Select the desired storage media by clicking on the tab Internal SD card or SD card (Optional , only if microSD card is installed) Drag-and-drop audio files (or folders containing audio files) to the desired destination** Show the Option menu In any navigation view, tap and hold at any media item Adjust the volume Rotate the volume knob clockwise to reduce the volume or counter clockwise to increase it.
