When using the device the rst time,
complete these tasks.
1. Charge the device (page 1).
2. Connect the device to your
computer.
3. Register and activate your device.
4. Set up geofences.
5. Turn on the device.
6. Place the device.

To prevent corrosion, thoroughly dry
the contacts and the surrounding area
before charging or connecting to a
computer.
The device will not charge when the
battery is outside the temperature
range from 32°F to 113°F (0°C to
45°C)
1. Plug the USB end of the cable
into the USB port on your
computer.
2. Plug the mini-USB end of the
cable into the device.
You must activate and register your
device before you can use it.

1. Connect the device to your
computer (XX).
2. Go to www.my.garmin.com.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions
to set up an account and register
your device.
A geofence is a safe area you set.
You can set alerts to notify you
when the device is outside of your
geofence. To set alerts, go to www.
my.garmin.com.
Press and hold .
NOTE: This unit should only be
used with the provided case.
1. Turn on the device.
2. Place the device in the case.
3. Use the velcro strap to thread
the collar through the case and
secure.
4. Attach the collar to your pet.
NOTE: Do not use the carabiner clip
to attach the device to your pet.

*The actual battery life of a fully
charged battery depends on how
much time you use GPS, the
backlight, and power save mode.
Exposure to extremely cold
temperatures will also reduce battery
life.
After a period of inactivity, the
device goes into power save mode.
The device displays the time and
date but does not use GPS. You can
press OK to exit power save mode.
If the keys or screen stop responding,
you may need to reset the device.
1. Press and hold power until the
screen goes blank.
2. Press and hold power until the
screen turns on.

prolonged exposure to extreme
temperatures can occur, because it
can cause permanent damage.
Avoid chemical cleaners and solvents
that can damage plastic components.
