GUIDE FORM SPECIFICATIONS
wallighter 250 Cutoff luminaire
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The totally enclosed, weather-resistant luminaire designated
_______ (identify) shall be a GE WALLIGHTER 250 Cutoff luminaire, ordering number _______ (specify W25C0, plus ordering number logic from catalog) or approved equal, to operate
one _______ (specify [50, 70, 100, 150(55V), 200 or 250] watt
high pressure sodium [HPS] or 175 or 250 watt metal halide
or 175 watt mercury mogul base or [70, 100 or 150(55V)] watt
HPS or [70, 100 or 175] watt metal halide or 175 watt mercury
medium base) lamp from a nominal _______ (specify 120,
208, 240, 277, 347 or 480) volt, 60 Hertz power source. The
luminaire shall include a completely prewired integral ballast
and an optical assembly that shall provide an IES Distribution
Type SC3. The luminaire shall be UL/cUL Listed SUITABLE FOR
WET LOCATIONS. Standard construction is IP55. Ballast, housing, optical and luminaire assembly shall all be from the same
manufacturer.

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION
The luminaire shall include a three-piece die-cast aluminum
housing with an electrocoat dark bronze paint finish and glass
lens. There shall be weatherproof neoprene gaskets around
the optical edge and the wiring and mounting holes. Mounting
shall be by two 3/8-inch (9.5mm) bolts through provided back
holes or to a 4-inch (102 mm) outlet box. There shall be 3/4inch (19mm) conduit entrances with built-in clamps provided
on the sides for through-feed wiring. The luminaire shall have
standard and vandal-resistant screws provided to secure the
optical to the housing. Removal of the optical shall allow direct
front access to the lamp, socket, ballast and reflector. The luminaire shall have provisions for a field-installed photoelectric
control kit.

OPTICAL ASSEMBLY
The optical assembly shall include a tempered glass lens, top
and rear aluminum reflectors with an Alzak✝ finish and a ______
(specify mogul base socket with superior lamp gripping or a
medium base socket with specified medium base lamp supplied. The mogul base E39 socket shall have added insulation,
giving it the ability to handle the higher pulse ratings of newer
HID systems.

BALLAST OPERATION
The luminaire shall have a standard _______ (specify) ballast*.
The ignitor (for HPS only) and ballast shall be prewired to the
lamp socket requiring connection of power supply leads only.
The ballast shall be in full compliance with lamp-ballast specifications available to the fixture manufacturer from the lamp
manufacturers at the time of fixture manufacture.
The ballast shall reliably start and operate the lamp in ambient
temperatures down to -20°F for mercury and metal halide and
-40°F for HPS.
