5 April 2003 Dell P/N G0295 Rev. A00 1. What should I do if I do not have a DSL or cable modem connection? (a) Contact your local Internet Service Provider and subscribe to a broadband Internet service. The TrueMobile 2300 Wireless Broadband Router should work with most ISP broadband connection through cable or DSL modem. (b) If you don’t have an Internet connection, you can set the router to be in Access Point mode. Please refer to the section “Setting up as an Access Point” in the user’s guide, located on the TrueMobile 2300 Wireless Broadband Router CD, for more details. See FAQ question 5 for instructions on how to launch the user’s guide. 2. Why can’t I connect to Internet via the router after following the installation instructions in this guide? Applying the wrong settings on the router may cause this problem or there is some incompatibility issue between the router and your Internet Service Provider (ISP). See the latest information on the TrueMobile 2300 Wireless Broadband Router at www.support.dell.com. To access the Dell Support site, remove the router from the network and connect your computer directly to the cable or DSL modem using the instructions provided by your ISP. 3. Will any software on my computer(s) conflict with the router? You should disable any connection sharing software on your computer(s) – such as Microsoft Internet connection Sharing (ICS), 3Com HomeClick and Intel Anypoint ISS – and proxy software – such as Wingate and Sygate. These types of software will no longer be needed when you network your systems with this router. You can disable this type of software by clicking Start à Settings à Control Panel à Add or Remove Programs. Also disable any Internet security software (or) firewall that might block the router connection. 4. How do I convert my first computer’s Ethernet (wired) connection to a wireless connection? Install a wireless network adapter. Disconnect the Ethernet cable between the Computer and the LAN port of the wireless router. Follow the steps in section Connecting additional computers to the network, located in your TrueMobile 2300 Wireless Broadband Router Quick Start Guide (this document), to convert the connection successfully. 5. Where is my User’s Guide? Your user’s guide is located on your TrueMobile 2300 Wireless Broadband Router CD. To launch your user’s guide, insert the CD and click User’s Guide. Once the router installation has completed successfully, you can find the user’s guide on your computer by clicking Start à Programs à Dell TrueMobile 2300 Wireless Broadband Router à User’s Guide. 6. What should I do if my first computer is connected to a cable or DSL modem using a USB cable? The TrueMobile 2300 Wireless Broadband Router installation software does not support the configuration for this type of connection. Please refer to the section “Installing and Configuring the router for non-Ethernet cable connections” in the user’s guide to install and configure the router. See FAQ question 5 for instructions on how to launch the user’s guide. We pride ourselves on our great customer service. If you are not satisfied with the service you receive under this limited warranty, please let us know. If, after those discussions, you are still not satisfied, we believe arbitration is the most expeditious way to resolve your concerns. Therefore, ANY CLAIM, DISPUTE, OR CONTROVERSY (WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, WHETHER PREEXISTING, PRESENT, OR FUTURE, AND INCLUDING STATUTORY, COMMON LAW, INTENTIONAL TORT, AND EQUITABLE CLAIMS) AGAINST DELL arising from or relating to this limited warranty, its interpretation, or the breach, termination, or validity thereof, the relationships which result from this limited warranty (including, to the full extent permitted by applicable law, relationships with third parties), Dell's advertising, or any related purchase SHALL BE RESOLVED EXCLUSIVELY AND FINALLY BY BINDING ARBITRATION ADMINISTERED

Third-party software and peripheral products are covered by the warranties provided by the original manufacturer or publisher only. Third party manufacturer warranties vary from product to product. Consult your product documentation for specific warranty information. More information may also be available from the manufacturer or publisher. While Dell offers a wide selection of software and peripheral products, we do not specifically test or guarantee that all of the products we offer work with any or all of the various models of Dell computers, nor do we test or guarantee all of the products we sell on the hundreds of different brands of computers available today. If you have questions about compatibility, we recommend and encourage you to contact the third-party software and peripheral product manufacturer or publisher directly. Dell-Branded Peripheral Products Dell does provide a limited warranty for new Dell-branded peripheral products (products for which Dell is listed as the manufacturer) such as monitors, batteries, memory, docking stations, and projectors). To determine which limited warranty applies to the product you purchased, see the Dell invoice and/or the product documentation that accompanied your product. Descriptions of Dell's limited warranties are described in preceding sections.
