Important Information
When using electrical products, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should

• Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in the manual. Do not use attachments
not recommended by Kohler Co.
• Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has
been dropped, damaged, or dropped into water. Return the product to a service center for
examination and repair.
• Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
• Never block the air openings of the product. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, and the like.
• Never use while sleeping or drowsy.
• Never drop or insert any objects into any opening or hose.
• Connect this product to a properly grounded outlet only. See Grounding Instructions.
• Install this product properly by following the installation procedure.
• Only authorized persons can install or repair the unit. Do not attempt to service this appliance
yourself, doing so could void the warranty.

Connect only to a dedicated 120 V AC, 60 Hz circuit protected by a minimum 15 A Ground-Fault
Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) or Residual Current Device (RCD).

water.
CAUTION: Risk of property damage: Do not push or pull on the water connection to prevent
water leakage.
CAUTION: Risk of property damage: In areas where water may freeze in the pipes, make
arrangements to keep the pipes warm. Any water remaining in the seat may freeze during storage
during the winter. Allow the unit to warm to room temperature before reinstalling or using.
NOTICE: Risk of product damage:
• Do not install this product in a location exposed to excessive moisture where condensation might
form on the product surface. Provide adequate ventilation when bathing to avoid damage to the
electronic components due to high humidity levels.
• Do not apply excessive force to the spray wands. Product may break.
• Do not install this seat in a location where water might be splashed on the product.
• Do not supply electrical power to the unit until the plumbing installation work has been completed.
It could cause the product to malfunction.
• Allow the unit to cool to room temperature before installation or operation. The thermal protectors
may trip during storage or transportation in warm weather causing the unit to not operate.
User Instructions
• Before installation or for long-term storage of this product, protect the product by storing it in its
original carton. Failure to do so may result product damage (such as scratches, loss of function)
and/or dangerous situations (such as damage to the cord).

• Verify the power cord and water hose are not susceptible to damage. Ensure the clips (provided) are
attached evenly along the water hose and power cord. If the clips were not installed, attach them at
this time. This will prevent twisting or damage to the water hose and power cord and will extend
the life of the product.
NOTE: This product is designed for installation with the electrical and water supplies located through
either the wall or the floor.
Grounding Instructions
• This product should be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the
risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This product is equipped
with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an
outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
DANGER: Risk of electric shock. Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of
electric shock.
• If repair or replacement of the cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the grounding wire to either
flat blade terminal. The wire with insulation having an outer surface that is green with or without
yellow stripes is the grounding wire.
• Check with a qualified electrician or service personnel if the grounding instructions are not
completely understood, or if in doubt as to whether the product is properly grounded.

The lid and ring can be lifted manually to open and close them.

Care and Cleaning
Kohler Co. shall not be responsible or liable for any tank fitting damage caused by the use of cleaners
containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite).
NOTE: When manually cleaning the bowl or wand, the remote must be used to extend the wand or open
the bowl valve.
Cleaning Functions
• To activate the cleaning functions:
• On the home screen menu of the remote, select ″settings″.
• In the ″settings″ menu, select ″cleaning″.

Automatic Wand Cleaning
• In the ″settings″ menu, select ″auto clean wand″.
• To clean the wand, select ″run clean cycle″.
• To schedule the wand to be cleaned at regular intervals automatically, select ″set schedule″.
• To set the time the wand cleaning process will be performed, use the up/down arrows the change
the hour and minutes settings.
• Select ″am″ or ″pm″.
• Select ″next″.
• Select the days the wand will be cleaned. More than one day may be selected.
• Select ″save″.
• ″Apply schedule″ will appear with a check mark when the settings have been successfully created.
• Select ″home″ to return to the home page.
Manual Cleaning
NOTE: The open and close features are disabled while the manual cleaning menu is being used.
In the settings menu, select ″ manual clean″.
On the home screen menu of the remote, select ″settings″.
To clean the bowl, in the ″manual clean″ menu, select ″open bowl valve″, and then clean the bowl.
In the manual clean menu, select ″extend wand″ and clean the wand and surrounding area.
Select ″home″ to return to the home page.
General Cleaning Directions
• Always test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.
• Wipe surfaces clean and rinse completely with water immediately after applying cleaner. Rinse and
dry any overspray that lands on nearby surfaces.
• Do not allow cleaners to soak on surfaces.
• Use a soft, dampened sponge or cloth. Never use an abrasive material such as a brush or scouring
pad to clean surfaces.
• For Artist Edition Toilets: Treat your decorative product just as you would treat your fine china.
DO NOT use bristle brushes or abrasive-backed sponges. They will scratch decorative surfaces. Use
only warm water to clean. Dry with a cotton cloth or soft sponge.

Troubleshooting Information

NOTE: When the remote is not in use, it will fall into standby mode after 3 minutes (6 minutes if the front
or rear wash has ever been activated). Press the wake-up key at the top of the remote control screen to
activate the remote.
NOTE: If the back light in the window is off, the first touch on the remote screen activates the light. The
second touch activates the function.
Start-up
When the toilet is first installed or the power fails, when power is restored or turned on the toilet
will automatically go into start-up mode.
If the toilet does not function correctly upon completing the start-up sequence, or it fails to start,
contact customer service using the numbers located on the back page of this manual.

If the start-up sequence is successful, but troubleshooting is still needed, use the remote control to
begin a diagnostic sequence.
Running the Diagnostic Sequence
On the home screen menu of the remote, select ″settings″.
In the settings menu, select ″maintenance″.
In the maintenance menu, select ″diagnostics″.
Select ″yes″ to run the diagnostics tool.
If the issues cannot be resolved, contact Kohler customer service using the phone numbers listed on
the back of this manual.
Warranty
KOHLER® Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty
Kohler Co. warrants its Faucets* manufactured after January 1, 1997, to be leak and drip free during normal
residential use for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns his or her home. If the Faucet should
leak or drip during normal use, Kohler Co. will, free of charge, mail to the purchaser the cartridge necessary
to put the Faucet in good working condition. This warranty applies only to Kohler Faucets installed in the
United States of America, Canada or Mexico (″North America″).
Kohler Co. also warrants all other aspects of the faucet or accessories (″Faucet″)*, (except gold, non-Vibrant®,
non-chrome finishes) to be free of defects in material and workmanship during normal residential use for as
long as the original consumer purchaser owns his or her home. This warranty applies only to Kohler Faucets
installed in North America. If a defect is found in normal residential use, Kohler Co. will, at its election,
repair, provide a replacement part or product, or make appropriate adjustment. Damage to a product caused
by accident, misuse, or abuse is not covered by this warranty. Improper care and cleaning will void the
warranty**. Proof of purchase (original sales receipt) must be provided to Kohler Co. with all warranty
claims. Kohler Co. is not responsible for labor charges, installation, or other incidental or consequential costs.
In no event shall the liability of Kohler Co. exceed the purchase price of the Faucet.
If the Faucet is used commercially or is installed outside of North America, or if the finish is gold,
non-Vibrant or a painted or powder coated color finish, Kohler Co. warrants the Faucet to be free from
defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date the product is installed, under Kohler
Co.’s standard one-year limited warranty.

WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. KOHLER CO.
AND/OR SELLER DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES. Some states/provinces do not allow limitations of how long an implied warranty lasts or the
exclusion or limitation of such damages, so these limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This
warranty gives the consumer specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary from
state/province to state/province.

fittings; all items within the ″Fixture Related″ section of the Kohler Faucets Price Book, drains, Duostrainer®
sink strainers, soap/lotion dispensers; and faucets used in commercial settings, and outside North America,
are covered by Kohler Co.’s one-year limited warranty.
**Never use cleaners containing abrasive cleansers, ammonia, bleach, acids, waxes, alcohol, solvents or other
products not recommended for chrome. This will void the warranty.
