XAP-310 INSTALLATION
Access Point Placement
The XAPVEIO acces: polnt is deslgned for :Imple and etherent lnxtallatlon and
setup, It can be mounted on the Celllng, wall or placed on a desktop or other flat
surface Because the signal generated by the mute I5 omnidirectional, the umt
should be mounted on a ceiling or wall directly In the center of the desired cover
age area.

Ceiling and Wall Mounting
The XAPJIO comes wtth a square mounting bracket to mount it to the wall or
ceiling. Use the Mounting Pattern (Page 677) for rnountlng bracket alignment.

Connecting the Ethernet Cable
Wlth the XAPSWO properly mounted, you can now plug the Ethernet Cable lrlto the
RJE4S connector
NOTE: Categoryns, super Categoryns or Categoryné unshlelded wasted
a palr (CATS/CATSe/CATG UTP) cables can be used. For best
results, lt ls recommended that Categorynls shlelded tWIsted pair
be used to ensure stable data transm'lsslorl at hlghest data rates
Connecting to the Power Source
The XAPnElO rs POE ready and supports 802.33f PoE. A POE Inlector rs lncluded wlth
the device. To apply power, slmply Connect the opposite end otthe Ethernet
(able to whlch the access polnt IS already connected to the provlded PoE In|ECtor
or other POE swltch pr lnjector. An Ethernet Cable length or up to 300 feet can be
used DO NOT yet apply power to the POE lnlector or swttch
