To power the handset, charge the battery before initial use.
Place the handset on the base unit for about 10 hours.
- The IN USE/CHARGE indicator lights.
I Recharge
When the HECHARGE indicator flashes or the unit beeps intermittently,
recharge the battery.
- clean the handset and the base unit charge contacts with a soft dry
cloth once a month. Clean more often of the unit is subject to grease,
dust or high humldity. Il not, the battery may not charge properly.
- It the battery is fully charged, you do not have to place the handset on the
base unit until the RECHARGE indicator flashes. This will maximize the
battery life.
- The battery cannot be overcharged.
Attention:
The product you have purchased is powered by a nickel
cadmium battery which is recyclable.
At the end 01 its useful lite, under various state and local
laws, it is illegal to dispose of this battery into your
municipal waste stream. Please call 1-800-8-BATTERY lor mm
information on how to recycle this battery.
The TALK indicator light must be olf.
- To select HIGH (preset) or LOW, press RINGER briefly.
(Each time you press the button briefly. the selecled volume will ring and lhe
ringer volume will change.)
- To turn the ringer OFF, press and hold RINGER until 2 beeps sound.
- To turn the ringer ON, press RINGER briefly. The ringer will sound at the
HIGH level.
You can store up to 10 phone numbers in the handset.
The dialing buttons (0 to 9) lunction as memory stations.
The TALK indicator light must be 011 before programming.
I To store phone numbers in memory
1 Press PROGRAM.
0 The TALK indicator flashes.
2 Enter a phone number up to 22 digits.
3 Press AUTO.
4 Press a memory station number (0 to 9).
. To store other numbers, repeat steps 1 through 4.
I To dial a stored number
1 Press TALK.
2 Press AUTO.
3 Press a memory station number (0 to 9).
- The stored number is dialed.

pressing TONE will not be dialed.

I To make a call with the handset
1 Press TALK.
. The indicator lights.
2 Dial a telephone number.
3 To hang up, press TALK or place the handset on the base unit.
- The TALK indicator light goes out.
- lf alarm tone sounds on step 1, move closer to the base unit or place the
handset on the base unit. Then try again.
- To redial the last number dialed: Press TALK, then press REDIAL.
- To select the handset receiver volume: Press LOUD while talking.
Each time you press the button, the volume level will change from
MEDIUM (preset) to HlGH to LOW.
- Ii noise interferes with the conversation: Press CH to select a clearer
channel pr move closer to the base unit.
I To answer a call with the handset
It the handset is off the base unit, press TALK.
lithe handset is on the base unit, just lift it up.
- Any Key Talk: You can also answer a call by pressing any dialing button
0 to S. 96 or #.
You can program the dialing mode by usan the handset near the base unit. If
you have touch tone service. set to TONE. ll rotary service is used, set to
PULSE. Your phone comes from the factory set to TONE.
The TALK indicator light must be off before programming.
1 Press PROGRAM.
. The TALK indicator flashes.
2 Press AUTO.
3 To select PULSE, press # twicer
OR
To select TONE, press * twice
4 When finished. press PROGRAM.
USE ONLY WITH Panasonic AC ADAPTOR KX-TCA1.
The adapter must remain connected at all times. (It is normal for the adaptor to
feel warm during use)
