Application

Single-pole overload relays are used to provide overload protec-

tion for dc and single-phase ac motors having full load currents

of 270 Amperes or less; also, three relays for 3-phase motors

requiring quick-trip protection.

Optional NO-NC contact (SPDT) can be connected to alarm circuit

to signal when relay trips.

Features

—Positive Overload Protection; relay utilizes a bimetallic strip

and heater which closely simulates thermal characteristics

of motor.

—Manual or Automatic Reset; on normally-closed contact

forms1–simple spring clip shift from one to the other.

—Trip Current Adjustment; knob can be set from 85 to 115% of

nominal heater trip rating.

—Ambient Compensated Forms; for use where motor and relay

are not in the same ambient.

—Quick Trip Forms; for use with motors with low ratio of locked-

rotor to running current and/or short allowable stall time.

—Front Mounting; is provided by use of mounting brackets for 1,

2, or 3 relays.

—Optional Back Mounting; requires no brackets.

—Front-Replaceable Heaters; provide change of trip current

rating in approximately 10% steps.

1. Order relay and accessories by complete product number.

Example: An ambient compensated relay with 1 NO-1 NC

contact for quick-trip application with less than 27 Amperes

full-load current—order CR124K0128 at $63.00, GO-10H.
