Be He ard, No t Se e n PSB CustomSound In-Cabine t Spe aker System CHS80 High Performance In-Cabinet Speaker Many high-end home theater systems have most of their components, including the speakers, hidden away in cabinets. While this hides the hardware it can be detrimental to speaker performance. Understanding this, PSB pioneered the concept of purpose-designed systems for in-cabinet installations. The CHS80, is an in-cabinet loudspeaker modeled after PSB’s prestigious flagship Platinum T8 tower speaker. Using the components of the highly regarded T8, the CHS80 is a five driver, three way high power/high output speaker with a highly designed crossover network optimized for in-cabinet application. It delivers “Platinum-Class” performance. The CHS80 includes two crossover compensation switches to adjust for in-cabinet boundary effects or for center channel applications behind a perforated screen. The enclosure construction meets Platinum-Series standards of rigidity and freedom from unwanted resonance. The system is constructed as a highly durable cabinet with a tough textured “spatter coat” matte black paint finish. It is dimensioned to fit within custom or readymade media furniture. The CHS80 has the audio critics raving. Chris Martens from The Perfect Vision says “At last, true high-end sound from an ‘invisible’ speaker.” And Chris Lewis from Home Theater says “The CHS80 is a modified version of the excellent Platinum T8, and I was pleased to hear that it maintains virtually all of its predecessor’s fidelity. PSB’s CustomSound line is proof that the best of both worlds—top-shelf performance and uncompromised aesthetics— can be brought together. The CHS80 is strong, dynamic, and highly musical. Combine these speakers with a custom cabinet and you’ve got a system that delivers the full potential of music and movies yet looks as clean and polished as a top-shelf custom install.
