Try to eliminate the interference by:• moving your headphones’ transmitteraway from the receiver• connecting your headphones’ transmit-ter to an outlet that is on a different elec-trical circuit from the receiver• contacting your local RadioShack storefor helpIf you cannot eliminate the interference, theFCC requires that you stop using your head-phones.Warning: Changes or modifications to thisunit not expressly approved by the party re-sponsible for compliance could void the us-er’s authority to operate the unit.Notes: • This equipment has been tested andfound to comply with the limits for aClass B digital device, pursuant to Part15 of the FCC Rules. These limits aredesigned to provide reasonable protec-tion against harmful interference in aresidential installation. This equipmentgenerates, uses and can radiate radiofrequency energy and, if not installedand used in accordance with the instruc-tions, may cause harmful interference toradio communications.• Your headphones are subject to interfer-ence from other devices, such as cord-less phones, wireless speakers, andother wireless headphones that operateon the same frequencies. If you experi-ence interference, try moving the head-phones away from the other device.PREPARATIONChoosing a LocationMany factors affect the range of your system. To achieve the best performance:• Position the transmitter as far as possi-ble from other electronic devices suchas TVs, receivers, or VCRs. 2ference from these devices could affectyour system’s performance.• Position the transmitter away from largemetal objects, as these could block yourtransmitter’s signals.• Try several locations for the transmitter.Select the location that provides the bestperformance.Your system’s overall performance dependson your home’s construction method, the oth-er devices near the system, and other radiofrequency sources in your home (such ascordless telephones).Using AC PowerUse the supplied 12V, 250mA AC adapter toconnect the transmitter to AC power.Cautions:• You must use a Class 2 power sourcethat supplies 12 volts DC and delivers atleast 250mA. Its center tip must be set topositive and its plug must fit the transmit-ter's DC 12V jack. The supplied adaptermeets these specifications. Using anadapter that does not meet these specifi-cations could damage the transmitter orthe adapter.• Always connect the AC adapter to thetransmitter before you connect it to ACpower. When you finish, disconnect theadapter from AC power before you dis-connect it from the transmitter.Plug the supplied AC adapter’s barrel pluginto the transmitter’s DC 12V jack, then plugthe adapter into a standard AC outlet.Charging the Rechargeable Battery PacksTo power the headphones, use the suppliednickel-metal-hydride rechargeable batterypacks. There are two batteries supplied, soyou can alternately charge one and use theother.Your transmitter has a built-in charger tocharge the rechargeable battery pack. Whenthe headphones are not in use, the batterypack can be continuously charged over sever-al days. Before using your headphones for the firsttime, you must charge the battery pack for atleast 24 hours. If the headphones’ range de-creases, you do not hear sound from the au-dio source, or the headphones’ POWERindicator is blinking, recharge the batteries. Ittakes 12 to 14 hours to completely rechargethe batteries. To charge the battery pack, plug it into the transmitter’s charging portal. The battery pack automatically be-gins charging and the CHARGE indica-tor lights. When charging is complete, unplug the bat-tery pack. The indicator turns off.Note: You can charge the battery pack withthe transmitter set to on or off.Installing a Battery Pack1. OPERATION Listening SafelyTo protect your hearing, follow these guide-lines when you use headphones.• Set the volume to the lowest settingbefore you begin listening. After youbegin listening, adjust the volume to acomfortable level.• Do not listen at extremely high volumelevels. Extended high-volume listeningcan lead to permanent hearing loss.• Once you set the volume, do not increaseit. Over time, your ears adapt to the vol-ume level, so a volume level that doesnot cause discomfort might still damageyour hearing.
