Important InformationUnited States & CanadaTHIS TABLET PC MODEL HAS BEEN CERTIFIEDINCOMPLIANCE WITH THE GOVERNMENT’SREQUIREMENTSFOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES.The SGP311 Series tablets personal computers have beendesigned to comply with applicable safety requirements forexposure to radio waves. Your wireless tablet personalcomputer is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed tonot exceed the limits* of exposure to radio frequency (RF)energy set by governmental authorities. These limits establishpermitted levels of RF energy for the general population. Theguidelines are based on standards that were developed byinternational scientific organizations through periodic andthorough evaluation of scientific studies. The standardsinclude a safety margin designed to assure the safety of allindividuals, regardless of age and health.The radio wave exposure guidelines employ a unit ofmeasurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate(SAR).Tests for SAR are conducted using standardizedmethods with the tablet personal computer transmitting at itshighest certified power level in all used frequency bands.While there may be differences between the SAR levels ofvarious tablet personal computer models, they are all designedto meet the relevant guidelines for exposure to radio waves.For more information on SAR, please refer to the importantinformation chapter in the User Guide.The highest SAR value as reported to the authorities for thistablet personal computer model when tested for use againstthe body is 1.27 W/kg*. The tablet personal computer hasbeen tested when positioned of 0 mm from the body withoutany metal parts in the vicinity of the tablet personal computeror when properly used with an appropriate Sony. For deviceswhich include “WiFi hotspot” functionality, SAR measurementsfor the device operating in WiFi hotspot mode were takenusing a separation distance of 0 mm.2
