car kit USER MANUAL RIGHTWAY Getting Started Place mount against windshield or on top of dash. Secure mount by putting lever into lock position (down towards base) Place your iPhone or iPod touch in the dock. Adjust Car Kit position for either vertical or horizontal viewing. Activating the Car Kit To operate the Car Kit, you simply need to plug in the 5V USB power cable and both GPS and Bluetooth can be used. When your iPhone or iPod touch is plugged into the Car Kit with power present, it will immediately charge the device. Volume Control Bluetooth Control Setting up a Bluetooth connection on your iPhone To use the RightWay GPS Car Kit with your iPhone, for making and receiving hands free phone calls, you need to establish a Bluetooth connection in the following way. 1. Tap Settings on the main screen of your iPhone 2. Tap General, then tap Bluetooth. 3. Switch on Bluetooth. Your device searches for Bluetooth devices. GPS Car Kit appears in the list of devices. 4. Tap GPS Car Kit 5. Tap Done. Your iPhone is now connected to your RightWay GPS Car Kit. The following are the key operations that are performed through the use of the Bluetooth control button. 1. When docked in the cradle, your iPhone should automatically connect to the RightWay GPS Car Kit, via Bluetooth, if the pairing has previously been completed. However If the RightWay GPS Car Kit does not connect but is paired. — Click and hold button for one second to connect the RightWay GPS car kit to your iPhone. 2. * If your iPhone is not docked and not connected via Bluetooth, but you still want to use hands free calling: — Click and hold button for one second to connect the RightWay GPS car kit to your iPhone. * For Example: Your iPhone is in your pocket, bag, purse, etc. 3. If your iPhone is already connected to the Car Kit. — Click once to activate voice dialing (iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 only) or to cancel. — Double Click to redial the number. 4. If you are receiving an incoming call. — Click once to accept the call. — Double click to ignore the call. 5. To end an incoming/outgoing call click once. 6. To disable/disconnect the bluetooth pairing between your iPhone and the RightWay GPS Car Kit, hold for 5 seconds. Music playback through your stereo For music playback on your iPhone or iPod touch via your car stereo, connect the Car Kit together with your stereo using a 3.5mm mini stereo audio cable (not supplied). Re Releasing your iPhone or iPod touch To release your iPhone or iPod touch, simply press the button on the upper left corner of the kit. This will release the upper clamp. Trouble Shooting Your iPhone or iPod touch applications do not receive satellite DATA. Remove your iPhone or iPod touch from the car kit and re-seat it on the connector. when using the 3.5mm stereo audio cable, with vehicle running, you hear alternator noise or a hum. If noise is present consider using a ground loop isolator (sold separately).
