Component
Introduction
The Wahoo retrofit module connects to fitness equipment that has a CSAFE port
to enable Bluetooth and ANT+ wireless connectivity. Users are enabled to connect or
pair their mobile device or leaderboard system via Bluetooth (or ANT+) with the
fitness equipment to track workout data and control the equipment. The base label is
attached to the fitness equipment and provides instructions for pairing the user’s
mobile device. The QR code label is attached to the base label and provides the
Bluetooth advertising ID of the retrofit module connected to the fitness equipment.
The Bluetooth advertising ID is programmed into the retrofit module using the Wahoo
Retrofit Utility app. To control the cardio equipment and save workout data, the
Wahoo RunFit app or 3rd party apps has a QR reader to scan the QR code and pair* the
retrofit module with the fitness app.

To download:
1. RunFit app (download from app store)
2. Retrofit Utility app (download from …)
Installation
1. Locate the CSAFE port on the fitness equipment console or at the bottom of the
fitness equipment

2. Connect the Ethernet cable between the retrofit module and the CSAFE port

3. On fitness equipment, clean the desired area for attaching retrofit module with
rubbing alcohol or cleaning chemical
4. Wipe the desired area dry with a paper towel or drying cloth
5. Clean the bottom of retrofit module with rubbing alcohol or cleaning chemical
6. Wipe the bottom of retrofit module with a paper towel or drying cloth

7. Attach the double-sided tape to the bottom of retrofit module and attach to
desired area on fitness equipment
8. Clean the side of the base label containing instructions with a paper towel or
drying cloth
9. Attach a QR code label to a base label and affix to the area marked as: “ATTACH
QR CODE HERE”
10. Clean the fitness console with rubbing alcohol or cleaning chemical
11. Wipe the fitness console dry with a paper towel or drying cloth
12. Attach the base label (with QR code label on top) to desired location on fitness
console

2. Download RunFit app….
3. Power up the fitness equipment and ensure the green LED on retrofit module is on
NOTE: Only power up ONE fitness equipment machine at a time to avoid
programming errors

4. Open programming app

5. Choose a 4 character Bluetooth advertising ID

6. Click “Next”

7. When the “Bluetooth advertising ID set” is displayed, click “Next”

8. Align the QR reader square with QR label that you wish to program

9. When the “QR code set” is displayed, click “Next”

10. When the “Programming completed!” is displayed, exit the programming app.
