The manufacturer is not liable if you fail to comply with the instructions and warnings. Retain all documents for subsequent use or for the next owner.

  • • Do not connect the appliance to the electricity supply until all packing and transit protectors have been removed. Keep children away from packaging and its parts. Danger of suffocation from folding cartons and plastic film!
  • • Leave the appliance to stand for at least 4 hours before switching it on, especially if transported horizontally, to allow compressor oil to settle.
  • • Make sure there is no transport damage.
  • • Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
  • • Maintain the ventilation openings in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure free of obstruction.
  • • Never use water to wash the compressor position; wipe it with a dry cloth thoroughly after cleaning to prevent rust.
  • • Handle the appliance always with at least two persons because it is heavy.

TRANSPORTATION INSTRUCTIONS

The appliance should be transported only in a vertical upright position. The original packing must be intact. If transported horizontally, it must only be laid on its left-hand side (when facing the door front) and must not be operated for at least 4 hours to allow the system to settle after returning it to an upright position.

  1. Failure to comply with these instructions could result in damage to the appliance. The manufacturer is not responsible for disregarded instructions.
  2. The appliance must be protected against rain, moisture, and other atmospheric influences.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. If possible, avoid placing the appliance near cookers, radiators, or in direct sunlight, as this will cause the compressor to run for long periods. Maintain minimum side clearances if installed next to a heat source or refrigerator:
    • From Cookers: 4" (100 mm)
    • From Radiators: 12" (300 mm)
    • From Fridges: 4" (100 mm)
  2. Ensure sufficient room around the appliance for free air circulation. A space of no less than 10cm is recommended around the freezer, with gaps as shown in the diagram.Diagram Description: Diagram illustrating recommended installation clearances for the chest freezer. It shows 4 inches (100mm) clearance from cookers and fridges, and 12 inches (300mm) from radiators. It also indicates a minimum space of 10cm around the freezer for free air circulation.
  3. The appliance should be located on a smooth surface.
  4. It is forbidden to use the refrigerator outdoors.
  5. Protect from moisture. Do not locate the freezer in moist spaces to avoid metal parts rusting. Do not spray water on the freezer, as it will weaken insulation and cause current leakage.
  6. Refer to the "Cleaning and Care" section to prepare your appliance for use.
  7. If the freezer is installed in unheated areas (garages, etc.), condensation may form on outer surfaces in cold weather. This is normal and not a fault. Remove condensation by wiping with a dry cloth.

STARTING TO USE

Before starting to use the freezer, please check that:

  1. The interior is dry and air can circulate freely at the rear.
  2. The interior has been cleaned as recommended under the "TAKE CARE" section.
  3. The plug is inserted into the wall socket and the electricity supply is switched on. The Red indicator light will be on. To avoid accidental disconnection, consider taping over the switch. The Green indicator light will glow, and the compressor will start running.
  4. You will hear a noise as the compressor starts up. The liquid and gases sealed within the refrigeration system may also produce noise, whether the compressor is running or not, which is quite normal.
  5. If you are storing already frozen food, open the freezer lid and check that the freezer has reached the correct temperature. Then, you can add your frozen food. (See "Storing Frozen Food").
  6. Do not load the appliance immediately after switching it on. Wait until the correct storage temperature has been reached. It is recommended to check the temperature with an accurate thermometer (see "Freezer Operation").

FREEZER OPERATION

Temperature Adjustment

The temperature is adjusted using the knob on the thermostat. Positions "1, 2, 3, 4, 5" do not represent specific temperatures. The smaller the number, the higher the temperature; position "5" indicates the lowest temperature.

Figures mean:

  • "OFF": Forced Shutdown Point
  • "1-5": Frozen Interval (from -12 °C to -30 °C)
Diagram Description: Diagram of the thermostat adjustment knob on the control panel. It shows positions 'OFF', '1', '2', '3', '4', '5', with 'OFF' being the shutdown point and '5' being the lowest temperature.

Achieved temperatures can vary based on usage conditions, such as appliance placement, ambient temperature, frequency of lid opening, and how full the freezer is. The thermostat knob position may need adjustment accordingly. For an ambient temperature of approximately 25°C, the thermostat should be adjusted to a mild position.

It is recommended to check the temperature with a thermometer to ensure the freezer is kept at the desired temperature. Take readings quickly, as the thermometer temperature will rise rapidly after removal from the freezer.

Remember that each time the lid is opened, cold air escapes, and the internal temperature rises. Therefore, never leave the lid open and ensure it is closed immediately after putting in or removing food.

Indicator Lights

The indicator lights are located on the front of the freezer for visibility.

  • Green LED: Indicates the freezer is plugged in.
  • Red LED: Indicates a high temperature inside the cabinet.

Storing Frozen Food

Prepackaged commercially frozen food should be stored according to the manufacturer's instructions for a freezer compartment.

To maintain the high quality of frozen food:

  1. Put packets in the freezer as quickly as possible after purchase.
  2. Do not exceed "Use By" or "Best Before" dates on the packaging.

For more information on storing, download the App and visit "Tips & Hints".

  • If possible, it is suggested to set the temperature at -18°C in the freezer compartment.
  • For frozen food, refer to the storage time written on the food packaging. This storage time is achieved when the setting respects the reference temperatures of the compartment (one-star -6°C, two stars -12°C, three stars -18°C).

Freezing Fresh Food

Place fresh food to be frozen near the side walls to ensure fast freezing and away from already frozen food, if possible. The freezing capacity of your appliance in a 24-hour period is 5 kg (10lb). Never exceed this maximum capacity. Do not freeze too large a quantity at any one time. Food quality is best preserved when frozen quickly through to the center. Take special care not to mix already frozen food and fresh food.

TAKE CARE

Defrosting

Defrost twice a year or when a frost layer of around 7 mm (1/4") has formed. Alternatively, switch off the freezer at the socket outlet and pull out the mains plug. Extract the water conduit and place it in a water container. 6 hours before defrosting, set the thermostat knob to "MAX" position to ensure food is at the lowest temperature when removed. All food should be wrapped in several layers of newspaper and stored in a cool place (e.g., fridge or larder). Remove the freezer basket. Leave the lid open. Containers of warm water may be placed carefully in the freezer to speed up defrosting.

When defrosting is finished, drain the defrost water collected at the bottom of the freezer as shown in the diagram and dry the interior thoroughly. Switch on the Fast Freeze and leave it on for about three hours.

Diagram Description: Diagram illustrating the four steps of defrosting the chest freezer. Step 1 shows water conduit extraction and water dripping. Step 2 shows conduit extraction to reveal the hole. Step 3 shows twisting the conduit downwards. Step 4 shows re-inserting the conduit with the arrow pointing upwards after defrosting.

1. There is a water conduit at the bottom of the freezer. During defrosting, extract the rubber cover; defrosted water will drip into the hole and flow out. (NOTES: Keep the rubber cover safe during defrosting and put it back afterwards.)

2. Extract the water conduit by 20-25mm until the water hole is visible.

3. Twist the water conduit until the arrow points downward.

4. After defrosting is done, ensure no more water is coming out before placing the water conduit back in place with the arrow pointing upward.

Cleaning and Care

We recommend switching off the freezer at the socket outlet and pulling out the mains plug before cleaning.

Never use sharp abrasive instruments, soap, household cleaners, detergents, or wax polish for cleaning.

Use lukewarm water to clean the cabinet of the freezer and wipe it dry.

Use a damp cloth wrung out in a solution of one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to one pint of water to clean the interior and wipe it dry.

Excess ice deposits should be removed regularly using a plastic ice scraper available from your local store. Large accumulations of ice will impair the freezer's performance.

If the freezer is not going to be used for a long period, switch it off, remove all food, clean it, and leave the lid ajar.

Check lid seals regularly to ensure they are clean and free from food particles.
