AnyTone 5555N Radio Adjustment and Modification

This document outlines key adjustments and modifications for the AnyTone 5555N radio.

Adjustment Points

  • W8 "AMANL" - AMC
  • W14 "SSBPWR" - ALC
  • W4 "PWRL" - AM LOW Power
  • W11 "AMMOD" - Internal Mic Gain

Note on AM Adjustment: Adjust W8 and W11 to control forward drive on AM. Exercise caution to avoid over-modulation, which can result in distorted audio (referred to as becoming a "splatmaster").

Potentiometer Adjustment

The SMT-sized potentiometers on this device do not have physical end stops. They will continue to rotate. If an adjustment is made outside the effective range, the reading may return to "low". In such cases, back the adjustment off by approximately 1/8 of a turn to find the optimal setting.

Export Modification

To perform the "Export Mod", carefully melt a solder bridge over the component labeled OP1.

Echo Functionality

There are no external controls for the echo function beyond its on/off state. The echo time and volume can be set using potentiometers W16 and W15, respectively. The echo can then be activated or deactivated via the front panel menu.
