Quick Start Guide
If you are a Windows user, please find the appropriate keycaps in the box, then follow the instructions below to find and replace the following keycaps.
Mac / Windows Layout

1. Connect Bluetooth
Switch toggle to Bluetooth mode.
Press fn1 + Q (for 4 seconds) and pair with device named Keychron K7.

2. Connect Cable
Switch toggle to Cable mode.

3. Change Light Effect
Press fn1 + light effect key to change backlight effects.
For RGB version: Press fn1 + right arrow / left arrow to change color.

4. Multimedia Key and Function Key
Multimedia Keys

Function Keys

To access Multimedia Keys, press fn1 and the corresponding multimedia key.
To access Function Keys, press fn2 and the corresponding F1-F12 key.
5. Disable Auto Sleep Mode
The keyboard goes to Auto Sleep Mode in 10 minutes of sitting idle to save battery.
Press fn1 + S + O (for 4 seconds) to disable the Auto Sleep Mode. To re-enable, press fn1 + S + O for 4 seconds again.

6. Remap Keys
Keychron does not provide official software for remapping keys. However, the following third-party software can be used:
- For Mac: Karabiner
- For Windows: SharpKeys
Linux Users: Join the "Keychron Linux Group" on Facebook for assistance with Linux system settings.

7. Turn Off the Backlight
Press fn1 + [light effect key] to turn the backlight on/off.
To decrease backlight brightness, press fn1 + [decrease brightness key].
To increase backlight brightness, press fn1 + [increase brightness key].

8. Factory Reset
If you encounter issues, try a factory reset by pressing fn1 + J + Z (for 4 seconds).

Function Description: Charging
Plug the Type-C cable into the keyboard and a USB port. The charging indicator light will show the status:
- Low battery: Blinking Red
- Charging: Solid Red
- Fully charged: Solid Green
Note:
- The Keychron K7 is compatible with all USB ports. For optimal performance, use a USB 3.0 port or a 5V/1A adapter.
- The Keychron K7 can be charged in Bluetooth, ON, or OFF mode.
- In wired mode, the charging indicator will remain on.
- This product supports up to 5V charging voltage and 1A charging current. Keychron is not responsible for issues arising from improper charging.
Bluetooth/Wired Mode (Toggle Switch)
Wired Mode
- Switch the toggle to Cable mode (this only works when a USB cable is plugged in).
- Connect the USB Type-C cable to your PC and keyboard.
- The backlight will turn on.
*In Wired Mode, the keyboard will not enter Battery Saver Mode.
Bluetooth Mode
- Switch the keyboard to Bluetooth mode.
- The backlight will turn on.
- Hold "Fn1+Q" for 4 seconds to activate Bluetooth pairing. The Bluetooth indicator will flash rapidly for 3 minutes.
- On your device, search for "Keychron K7" and connect. The Bluetooth indicator will turn off after successful pairing.
Note: This keyboard supports pairing up to 3 devices simultaneously via combination keys: "fn1" + "Q", "fn1" + "W", or "fn1" + "E".
*The Bluetooth indicator will continue to flash for 3 minutes.
**Slow or failed connections may occur due to different Bluetooth versions. Ensure your device's settings are correct.
Switch Bluetooth Devices
Short press combination keys "fn1" + "Q" / "fn1" + "W" / "fn1" + "E" to switch to other devices.
Reconnect
- Switch the keyboard to Bluetooth mode to activate it. The keyboard will automatically connect to the last connected device.
- The Bluetooth indicator will flash for 4 seconds, automatically pairing with the last paired device.
- If the Bluetooth indicator is off, press any key to re-initiate the connection.
*The keyboard must have been previously paired with the device to perform this function.
Turn Off the Keyboard
Switch the toggle to "Off". The product will turn off in all modes but can still be charged.
Battery Saver
In Bluetooth mode, the keyboard backlight turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity to save power. Press any key to wake the keyboard.
To disable auto battery save mode, press fn1+S+O for 4 seconds. To re-enable it, press fn1+S+O for 4 seconds again.
Backlit Setting
- Short press fn1 + [light effect key] to switch between different lighting effects.
- When the backlight is on, press fn1 + [arrow key] to switch between effects. Short press fn1 and the left/right arrow keys to adjust light colors (RGB version only).
OS Switch
- MAC/iOS: Turn the switch to Mac/iOS when connected to a Mac or iOS operating system.
- WINDOWS/ANDROID: Switch the toggle to Windows/Android when connected to a Windows or Android operating system.
*When using Windows/Android mode, the Alt keys function as "Windows" and "Alt" keys.
3. Input Method Switch
For iOS:
- Input method switch: Ctrl + Space
- Caps Lock: Caps (Enable General > Keyboards > Hardware Keyboard > Caps Lock Language Switch)
For Android:
- Input method switch: Shift + Space
Note: Due to compatibility, version, brand, and driver variations in Windows/Android OS, some multimedia key functions may not be available. Frequent OS switching is not recommended as it may impact keyboard operations.
Troubleshooting
My keyboard isn't working.
For the keyboard: Turn the keyboard off and on again. Turn Bluetooth off and restart the computer (Windows).
For the device: Go to Bluetooth settings, turn off Bluetooth, and "forget" the keyboard. Restart the device and turn on Bluetooth to reconnect.
Bluetooth connection is interrupted even within 10 meters.
Check if the keyboard is placed on a metal surface that might interfere with the Bluetooth signal.
Third-party input tools are not compatible with the keyboard.
Due to compatibility, version, brand, and driver differences in Windows/Android OS, third-party input tools may be affected. Ensure your operating system and drivers are up to date.
Certain fn keys or multimedia keys do not work under Windows/Android mode.
Functions of certain multimedia keys may be disabled due to compatibility, version, brand, and driver differences in Windows/Android OS.
Safety Precaution
- Keep the product, accessories, and packaging out of reach of children to prevent accidents and choking hazards.
- Always keep the product dry to avoid corrosion.
- Do not expose the product to extreme temperatures (below -10°C (5°F) or above 50°C (131°F)) to preserve the lifespan of the keyboard and battery.
