Introduction
This manual provides instructions for using the Eplus Flash software to customize Shimano Steps e-bike motors.
Installation Software
To install the Eplus Flash software, consult the Eplus Manual Flash.
E-Tube Project software download and setting: http://e-tubeproject.shimano.com
Preliminary Operations
- Connect the SM-PCE1/SM-PCE2 device to the PC and the e-bike display.
- Update the motor to the latest version using E-Tube software. Close E-Tube and switch on the bicycle; the display should show '0'.
- Turn off the bike.
- Disconnect all connected devices (display, electronic gearbox, power button).
- Connect directly to the motor using the SM-PCE1/SM-PCE2 diagnostics cable.
- With the bike off, launch the Flash software. This version performs modifications with the bike off, directly in the motor.
Attention & Warnings
Before updating the engine version, ensure the battery is at least 50% charged or use the adapter with properly inserted connectors.
Once updated to the Eplus version, the e-bike will be in 'Custom' mode, which may block further user upgrades to other engine versions. The installer can revert to the original version at any time.
In case of a power outage during the update, the e-bike may become unusable. Refer to the video on YouTube for restoration.
Flash Software Features
Log in to the Eplus Flash software and select the engine type to modify.
Possible Changes
- Original Version: Allows restoring the bike to its original factory settings, useful for sending the engine for Shimano assistance without voiding modifications.
- Unblocking 35 Km/h (E6100, E7000, E8000, EP8): Maintains assisted pedaling up to 35 Km/h. The engine version changes upon loading.
- Unblocking 50 Km/h (E6100, E7000, E8000, EP8): Maintains assisted pedaling up to 50 Km/h. The engine version changes upon loading.
- Race Unlock (E8000): Found in the 'Mappings' section, this allows managing mappings via the Eplus Tutor app and maintaining pedal assistance over 50 km/h.
- Mappings (E7000, E8000): Customize assistance percentage, torque, and engine power across three riding modes. Eplus offers 5 pre-set modes: Original, Urban, Touring, Enduro, and Race. This feature works with specific unlocks.
- Eco Free: Enables the 'Eco Free' option in the Tutor app to reduce assistance levels and save battery (works with E8000).
Consult the table for specific changes possible for your engine. Note: Some bike models may not reach the maximum speed of 50 km/h due to installed reports.
Shimano Steps E8000 Customization
Modify Mappings
This feature is available for Shimano Steps E7000 and E8000.

It is possible to customize assistance, torque, and engine power parameters to suit the user's driving style. Eplus software allows for greater adjustment ranges compared to factory settings. For example, the maximum boost value can be increased from 300 up to 1000. Easy preset mappings are also available.
Performing the "Unlocking Race" (for E8000) changes the engine version to 7.7.7. This is required to use the "Eplus Tutor" APP and change speeds for each assistance level.
Warning: The bike must be switched off and on again as prompted by the software. Ensure the display shows '0'.

Shimano Steps E7000 Customization
Modify Mappings
This feature is available for Shimano Steps E7000 and E8000.

Riding Modes Explained:
- Original: Restores default manufacturer settings.
- Urban: For city use, reducing consumption with less need for climbing.
- Touring: Designed for comfortable rides, offering moderate boost suitable for climbs.
- Enduro: Aggressive setting for off-road and challenging terrain, providing enjoyment.
- Race: Highly aggressive setting, best used with Trial mode, for managing BOOST on challenging trails while optimizing consumption.
- Custom: Allows users to freely change settings.
An online course for resellers is available for performance optimization.
ATTENTION: All modifications are carried out at your own risk. Eplus is not responsible for any problems or damages resulting from changed original values, which may void the vehicle's warranty.

Procedure for Restoring Shimano Engines to Factory Conditions
This procedure is necessary for official assistance or before updating via E-Tube.
STEP 1 - Restore Original Values:
- For E8000 with RACE version 7.7.7: First, restore speed to 25 km/h and use ORIGINAL maps in the Tutor Pro app.
- For other bicycles: Navigate to the MAPPINGS screen, press the ORIGINAL button, then CONFIRM. Turn the bike off and on again, follow any on-screen messages, and confirm if prompted.
STEP 2 - Engine Restore:
- Go to the main section, press the ORIGINAL VERSION button, and then CONFIRM. Follow the procedure for approximately 5-10 minutes. The engine version should become 4.*.*.
If the version remains 6.3.5, 6.5.0, 6.6.6, or 7.7.7, the procedure was unsuccessful.
To verify, use the E-Tube function "Unit Log Acquisition" to check the correct engine version.
App Eplus Tutor
The Eplus Tutor app allows unlocking speed and tuning pedal assistance, wheel torque, and engine power for each mode, enabling maximum customization of the riding experience.
With "Race" mode activated, users can download the Tutor app (Android/iOS) for free to modify mappings. Changing speed via the app requires an in-app purchase of €0.99 (only for E8000 engines with an 8000 display).
Description of Diagram: Screenshots of the Eplus Tutor mobile application, displaying settings for assistance, torque, and power, as well as the anti-theft feature.
If the loaded engine version is 'Race', the rider can directly manage power and torque changes and use default riding settings. Without this mode, only the anti-theft feature is active.
To prevent damaging settings, the app allows limited value changes compared to PC adjustments:
- Max assistance level: 450
- Max torque: 75
- Engine power: 55
The app also includes an anti-theft system for bikes with Shimano Steps E8000 engines (regardless of whether they are unlocked with Flash).
Anti-Theft Activation:
If theft occurs, pressing the "THEFT" button sends date, time, GPS position, and owner data to the central system. The electric motor will be temporarily blocked until a complaint is filed with the authorities. Assistance can only be reactivated by visiting an Eplus dealer or the Shimano manufacturer. If the thief attempts reactivation, they will be identified.
