Remote Controls
Mongoose M80II Remote Control: 2 Supplied.
In 'upgrade' mode, the system is operated by the vehicle's factory remote controls. The supplied Mongoose remotes are used for programming security features only and should be kept in a safe place. If factory remotes are lost, the system can be re-configured to use Mongoose remotes by an installer.
System Operation
Arming
Exit the vehicle and ensure all doors, bonnet, and boot are closed. Press the lock button on your vehicle's remote control. The siren will chirp once and lights will flash once to indicate the system is armed. The dashboard LED will slow flash.
Disarming
Press the unlock button on your vehicle's remote control. The siren will chirp twice and lights will flash twice. If no door is opened within 30 seconds, the system will automatically re-arm.
Alarm Activation Warning: If the alarm was activated, the siren will chirp 4 times and lights flash 3 times upon disarming.
Note for Ignition Key Alarm Trigger: Close all doors and lock/unlock with the car's remote to turn off the alarm if triggered by opening the door with the ignition key.
Automatic Security Re-arm
The system can re-arm automatically after unlocking if doors are not opened within a set time. If the vehicle does not have automatic re-locking, the system will re-arm after 30 seconds if no door is opened.
Security Features & Protection
Open Circuit Bypass
If any door, bonnet, or boot is left open when arming, the siren will chirp once, then again to signify an open circuit. The LED will flash a code for 30 seconds. The open circuit will arm upon closure.
Silent Arm (No Siren Chirps)
The system can be programmed to disable siren chirps on arming/disarming. This should only be changed by the installer.
'Triple Circuit' Engine Immobilisation
The engine is immobilised when the vehicle is locked (armed). These immobilisers are separate from any factory fitted ones.
Intrusion Detection
Ignition, Bonnet, Boot & Doors: Siren sounds for 30 seconds, lights flash for 60 seconds upon intrusion. If a door/bonnet/boot is left open, siren sounds for 90 seconds, lights flash for 150 seconds, then the open circuit is bypassed to prevent excessive noise.
The system requires operating courtesy light door switches for triggering. Fitting or replacing faulty switches incurs additional charges.
Sensors
- 2 Stage Impact Sensor: Detects impacts to bodywork or glass. Not triggered by normal wind or rocking. Sensitivity is set by installer. May not prevent wheel theft; electronic tilt sensor and/or locking wheel nuts advised.
- Glass Break Sensor (M80GII models): Detects actual glass breakage by sound. Sensitivity is set by installer.
- Ultrasonic Sensor (optional accessory): Monitors interior environment changes. Requires all doors/windows closed for operation. False alarms can be created by open windows or air vents. Do not leave people or animals inside as movement will trigger the alarm.
- Microwave Sensor (optional accessory): Detects physical movement inside and outside the vehicle. Fields are adjustable. Do not leave people or animals inside.
Other Features
- Boot Bypass (optional): Bypasses boot circuit if vehicle remote has a separate boot release button. Closing the boot re-arms circuits after a 10-second delay.
- Intrusion Alert: Siren chirps 4 times upon disarming if the alarm was triggered while away. Refer to 'LED flash codes' for details.
- Battery Back-Up Siren: Sounds if vehicle battery is disconnected. Can be turned off with special keys. Does not deactivate alarm/immobiliser. Should be protected from heat/water damage. Heat or water damage is not covered by warranty.
- Automatic Re-Set: Siren sounds for 30 seconds upon intrusion and resets. If a door is left open, siren sounds for 3x30 seconds and circuit is bypassed.
- Arm Condition Memory: System remembers last armed/disarmed state if battery is disconnected.
- Noise Pollution Control: Isolates a circuit if triggered more than three times or left open. Reset by disarming/re-arming. Turn ignition ON/OFF to reset LED intrusion codes.
- Perimeter Nite-Lite: Indicators stay lit for 15 seconds after disarming for illumination. Power consumption must be within 6 amps per side. Connecting a trailer may affect operation.
LED & Chirp Codes
Vehicle Lights Flashing (Fuse Protected)
- 1 Flash: Armed
- 2 Flashes: Disarmed
- 3 Flashes: Disarmed and previously triggered
LED - Dash Mounted Warning Light
The LED shows alarm status, intrusion codes, or open circuits.
- Fast flashing: 30 second countdown of automatic functions
- Slow flashing: System armed
- LED off: System off
- 1 flash, pause: Bonnet
- 2 flash, pause: Boot
- 3 flash, pause: Doors
- 4 flash, pause: Impact sensor

Chirp Confirmation & Codes
- 1 Chirp: Arm
- 1 Chirp, 2nd chirp: Indicates an open circuit when arming (Car dependant)
- 2 Chirps: Disarmed
- 4 Chirps: Disarming and indicates that the alarm has been triggered
Emergency Override
4 Digit PIN Coded
The system can be disarmed using a unique 4-digit PIN code. Keep the PIN card in a safe place, not in the vehicle.
[Image: Emergency 4 Digit PIN Code Override Card]
Procedure: Enter code by turning ignition ON or OFF in sequence with the dash LED. Follow specific steps involving LED flashes and ignition states to input each digit. If a digit is missed or entered incorrectly, wait for 11 flashes and repeat from step 1.
Note: A PIN code digit of "0" equals '10'.

This security system can be customized to suit almost any vehicle or enable/disable certain features. These should only be changed by the installer.

Installation & Wiring
Installation must be carried out by suitably qualified persons.
'Upgrade' Mode Programming
In 'upgrade' mode, the system operates solely from the vehicle's factory remote controls. Key configuration changes include AED being off, specific wires enabled (1, 4, 13), and wire 7 changing to 'Boot bypass'. Program No. 6 (AED) must be set to OFF.
Control Inputs
| Wire Description | Function |
|---|---|
| ARM | Connect to vehicle's lock motor wire (Pulses positive when locked) |
| DISARM | Connect to vehicle's unlock motor wire (Pulses positive when unlocked) |
| DISARM #2 (Programme #4 controls input type) | 1) LIGHT FLASH - Prog #4 ON (Default) Connect to vehicles positive Indicator flash wire OR 2) DISARM DEFEAT - Prog #4 OFF Connect to unlock signal wire from driver's door (Pulses negative from key barrel when key is used) |
Wiring Methods
- Method 1: Light Flash (Default): Connect DISARM #2 wire to a positive light flash wire if the vehicle flashes lights for locking/unlocking.
- Method 2: Disarm Defeat: The 'Disarm #2' wire prevents disarming by means other than remote or PIN override. It's typically connected to the driver's door unlock signal. Requires PROGRAMME #4 set to "OFF" and PROGRAMME #5 to change polarity.
