Download BioTime 8.5 Software
- Click or copy the following link into your browser or download the installation package from the website www.zkteco.me: https://www.zkteco.me/ZKTecoME/BioTimeInstallationPackage.zip
- The BioTime 8.5 Installation Package will be automatically downloaded and saved to your default Downloads folder.
Install BioTime 8.5 Software
- Go to your default Downloads folder and open the installation package.
- Right-click `setup.exe` and run the installation setup as Administrator.
- Select the language for the software. Note: You can change this on the software after installation. A dialog box appears prompting you to select the language, with "English" pre-selected.
Installation Process
- Click the "Start" button to continue the installation. Read the License Agreement carefully and click "Agree" if you accept the terms and conditions, or "Back" if not. The BioTime software is described as a web-based centralized time attendance solution with a mobile application for managing employee attendance.
- Choose the installation file folder and click "Next".
- Set the Port Number and tick "Add Firewall Exception" ⚙️.
- Select the database. You can choose "Default Database" to install with the default PostgreSQL database, or select "Other Database" to configure it during installation.
- Click "Install" ▶️.
Post-Installation Steps
After the installation, run the BioTime Server Controller, which can be found in your taskbar or Start menu. Click "Start" under the "Service" tab.
SQL Server Configuration with BioTime 8.5
When installing MS SQL Server, choose Mixed Mode Authentication. Navigate through SQL Server Configuration Manager > Protocols for MS SQL Server, then right-click on TCP/IP and select "Enable TCP/IP" ✔️.
In the "IPAll" configuration, empty the values for 'TCP Dynamic Ports' and enter '1433' in the 'TCP Port' field. Click OK to restart the SQL services.
BioTime 8.5 Configuration - Server Port Configuration
Open the BioTime Platform Service Console. Under the "Service" tab, click "Stop" ❌ to stop the services, then enter the desired port number. Click "Check Port" to verify availability, and then click "Start" ▶️ to restart the services.
Note:
- "Port Unavailable" means that this port is occupied. Please set another port and re-test.
- When the port number is modified, right-click the BioTime icon on the desktop and go to Properties to change its URL.
Database Configuration
If you have already configured the database during installation, the console will display the configuration details. If not, select the desired database and enter the correct parameters, then click "Connect Test" ?. A "Connect Successfully" message indicates a successful connection.
Click "Create Table" ?️ and confirm the "Connect Successfully" message. After a successful connection, click "Start" ▶️ under the "Service" tab.
