(35.5 cm) MATERIALS � LION BRAND� MANDALA� WATERCOLORS (Art. #554) #609 Icy Grape 3 cakes � LION BRAND� knitting needles size 11 (8 mm) � LION BRAND� Pom-Pom Maker � LION BRAND� large-eyed blunt needle GAUGE 12 sts + 22 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every st on every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. NOTES 1. Scarf and Hood are worked separately then sewn together. 2. Scarf is worked entirely in Garter st (k every st on every row). Ends of Scarf are folded and seamed to form pockets. 3. Hood begins with a ribbed front edge, then is worked in Garter st. SCARF Cast on 20 sts. Work in Garter st (k every st on every row) until piece measures about 74 in. (188 cm) from beg. Bind off. HOOD Cast on 84 sts. Rows 1-5: *K2, p2; rep from * to end of row. Work in Garter st until piece measures about 9 1/2 in. (24 cm) from beg. Bind off. FINISHING Fold bound-off edge of Hood in half and sew edges together for back seam. Sew Hood to center of one long edge of Scarf. Fold ends of Scarf up about 6 in. (15 cm) to the right side. Sew side edges together to make pockets.
