Member, Grady Laboratory Information System replacement team, 2002
Generated monthly service schedule for Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, Pathologist attended Fine Needle Aspiration Clinics, and inderdiscliplinary Tumor Conferences (12 16 conferences per month) 1998 - 2009. The Grady FTE and all Grady related activities of the pathologists are tracked and quantified in a complex spreadsheet that I created to assist in assuring the Grady workload is balanced across pathologists
Created new cytology requisition which facilitated transmission of clinical information to the laboratory.
Developed computerized database program assist in the evaluation of cytotechnologist performance, and in correlating diagnoses of cytologic specimens and corresponding histologic specimens.
Increased utilization of Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) for the diagnosis of palpable masses from approximately 5-6 per week to 15-25 per week. The number of FNA clinics has increased from one to three per week. FNA is a more rapid, less invasive diagnostic modality than is open surgical biopsy, and in many instances a definitive diagnosis can be made.
