Flicker-free architectural lighting With the prevalence of LED technology, the subject of flickering lights is increasingly becoming a focal point. As LED light sources react to changes in operating parameters much more quickly than other light sources, the lighting can flicker, which is perceived as irritating. The human eye can detect frequencies up to 80Hz as flickering light; the most sensitive frequency range is 10Hz to 30Hz. The 80Hz 2,000Hz frequency range can cause a so-called "stroboscopic effect". At present, limit values are being defined for both frequency ranges; from the point of view of standardisation and by the European Commission. LED drivers from Tridonic already achieve values that are significantly lower than the limit values defined, making sure the lighting is always pleasant for those who use it. 36 LED Driver Simple configuration So versatile, so effective LED Drivers from Tridonic are suitable for general use and offer impressive functionality. The operating current is one of the most important parameters for the efficient application-specific use of an LED module. LED Drivers from Tridonic offer the following options for setting this current with a high degree of flexibility: ready2mains programmer Simple configuration, without any additional digital interface in the LED Driver. The ready2mains programmer communicates via the mains and therefore provides a simple means of configuring all LED Drivers with the ready2mains interface including Driver excite series (EXC). The programmer is easy to operate and extremely versatile. It can be operated manually or with predefined scripts, alternatively it can be integrated in automated processes. I-SELECT 2 interface and ADV Plug Perfect for manual configuration of a small number of devices. Resistance plugs defined with the required values are simply inserted in the appropriate terminals on Drivers excite (EXC) and premium (PRE) series with I-SELECT 2 Plug and advanced series with ADV plug. Standard motion detectors and luminaires with one4all LED drivers is all that is required to provide presencecontrolled lighting. The corridorFUNCTION can be programmed so that if there is no one in the room the light is not switched off as is the case with non-dimmable ballasts but dimmed to the minimum level. It can then be switched off automatically after a preset delay. Multiple programming via Near Field Communication (NFC) The NFC interface offers the possibility of adjusting currents quickly and easily. Up to 20 drivers can be programmed in a single work step.
