Product Substitutions for 2020 End of Commercialization
SCADA & Telemetry Solutions
Introduction
Schneider Electric announces the End of Commercialization (EoC) for a variety of SCADA & Telemetry hardware and software solutions and products. 'EoC' signifies that a solution/product will no longer be available for offer or purchase. It does not signify that the aforementioned solution/product will no longer be serviced or supported. This is indicated by the "End of Service" (EoS) date, which occurs at a time period from the EoC date.
This document serves as a summary of the most significant EoCs that occurred during 2020. For a more detailed list and specific EoC and EoS dates, contact sales support at SalesTRSS@se.com.
Reasons for End of Commercialization
The solutions/products listed in this document are being discontinued because they:
- Are no longer cost, feature, or performance-competitive when compared to alternates currently available from Schneider Electric or competing offers on the market.
- Use obsolete components that limit production capacity and lifetime, while increasing cost.
- Require expensive and complex production processes.
- Are non-compliant with standards such as RoHS and WEEE.
End of Service Policy
Service will be maintained for SCADAPack™ Smart RTUs, I/O expansion modules, and applications, for a minimum of three years (from EoC date). RMA (Return Material Authorization repair) services may be restricted as components become no longer available.
Service will be maintained for Realift™ panels for a minimum of one year (from EoC date). Support for the Realift application, including the RTU and HMI will continue. RMA services may be restricted as components become no longer available.
Technical support services and support via the RMA service program will be maintained on a best effort basis after the service periods described above have expired.
