Let's go! 2 | support@getnexar.com DOWNLOADING THE NEXAR APP If you haven't yet downloaded the Nexar app, do so first:* 1. Download the app by searching for `Nexar' in the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) 2. Open the app, register, and enable all necessary settings when prompted. Be sure to enable Location Services so Nexar can automatically start and stop when you start and stop driving Do you share your car? If so, make sure each driver downloads Nexar and connects to the camera. *We recommend doing this while connected to a WiFi network | 3 PACKAGE CONTAINS 1. HaloCam 2. Holder 3. USB charger 4. USB power cable 5. Installation tool 6. Micro SD card 7. Cable clips 4 | support@getnexar.com ASSEMBLING THE CAMERA 1. Insert micro SD card into the micro SD slot on the camera until you hear a click 2. Insert the holder into the holder slot on the camera and slide to lock in place (The SD card may be pre-slotted for you) 3. Remove sticker from camera lens Hold camera with lens facing downwards Insert micro SD card with metal pins facing upwards ATTENTION: Do NOT remove the micro SD from the camera while camera is ON. Doing so may cause permanent damage to the camera! Turn camera OFF before ejecting card. | 5 ACTIVATING THE CAMERA IN YOUR VEHICLE 1. Connect the charging cable to the camera's POWER port 6 | support@getnexar.com 2. Plug the USB charger into your vehicle's power socket 3. Plug the other end of the charging cable into the USB charger 4. Start your vehicle. You should see a green light indicating that the camera is powered on, and a blue blinking light indicating that the camera is waiting to be paired 1A | 7 DO YOU HAVE AN IPHONE? Wi-Fi Wi-Fi DIRECT-Nexar (5G) 1. Open your iPhone's settings 2. Tap on WiFi 3. Connect to the WiFi network that begins with `DIRECT-Nexar (5G)' 4. Enter password: 12345678 5. Don't worry, your cellular data is still available 6. The blue indicator light on the camera should now be steady 8 | support@getnexar.com DO YOU HAVE AN ANDROID? 1. Open the Nexar app 2. Tap the menu button in the top left corner 3. Tap Settings 4. Tap External camera 5. After a few seconds, the camera and your phone will connect automatically 6. The blue indicator light on the camera should now be steady | 9 INSTALLING THE CAMERA IN YOUR VEHICLE sticker lens towards the road windshield 1. Open Nexar and tap the car icon (for Android) or the Drive button (for iPhone) 2. Wait a few moments for your camera's feed to show up in the Nexar app 3. Before sticking your camera to the windshield, make sure it has a clear view of the road. We recommend placing it behind and to the right of the rearview mirror 4. After choosing a location, clean any dust and dirt from that portion of the windshield 5. Remove the holder's sticker and fix the camera to your windshield 10 | support@getnexar.com TIPS FOR DRIVING WITH NEXAR Keeping your phone mounted is safer We recommend that you keep your phone mounted while driving to better analyze objects ahead, detect collisions, and more. You can let Nexar automatically detect when you start driving and begin recording on its own. On iPhone - Go to your iPhone's settings, tap Nexar, set Location to `Always'. Then go to the settings screen inside the app and turn on `Auto start drive'. On Android - Go to Nexar's settings menu in the app, and make sure `Auto start rides' is on. Also, make sure your phone's GPS is on. Make sure the camera and your phone are plugged in and charging at all times. This will ensure that they capture all evidence, just in case. | 11 HOW TO HIDE THE CAMERA'S CABLE Watch the video: nxr.cm/hidecables 1. Sit in the passenger seat 2. With one hand, gently pull downthe edge of the fabric at the top of the windshield 3. With your other hand, use two fingers or the installation tool to insert the cable behind the ceiling fabric 4. You can use the cable clips provided if you prefer 12 | support@getnexar.com 4. Open the passenger-side door 5. Insert the cable into the door's seal from top to bottom 6. Bring the cable behind the glove compartment 7. Insert the remaining cable under the passenger-side floor mat 8.
