It is designed to enhance network performance in a compact form factor. The switch offers 8 10/100Mbps Ethernet PoE port compliant with IEEE 802.3af/ IEEE802.3at. The PoE ports can be used to power up devices complying with IEEE802.3af & IEEE802.3at using the existing Ethernet cable. The switch uses store and forward packet switching technology which ensures reliable data transfer. The switch also supports automatic MDI/MDI-X detection which eliminates the need of a cross over cables and has an additional dedicated uplink port. This switch also support VLAN mode in which the clients connected to it can only talk with the uplink port. There is a toggle button on the switch for easy selection of the operational mode. Thus the DG-FS1009PF-A is an ideal solution for small Ethernet work-groups and applications requiring PoE. Power over Ethernet Support The DG-FS1009PF-A Switch offers 8x10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet ports with Power over Ethernet support. These PoE ports are IEEE 802.3af/ IEEE802.3at compliant and can supply up to 30 W. The existing Ethernet cables can be used to power up IEEE 802.3af/ IEEE802.3at compliant network devices. This eliminates the need of an external power source and power cabling for such devices. The switch provides flexibility to users for connecting a PoE or non PoE device. The PoE devices connected to switch can be easily identified by the separate PoE LED status indicators for each port. Plug and Play Installation The auto-negotiation and auto-sensing feature of the switch eliminates the need to manually configure the switch for optimum performance. Auto MDI/MDI-X feature eliminates the need of using a crossover cable or dedicated uplink port. These features enable the switch to operate out of the box without any manual configuration. High Performance The switch supports data transfer at an average of 200Mbps per port in full duplex mode. This allows every node to perform at their maximum performance. VLAN Mode Support DG-FS1009PF-A has a toggle button to select the operational mode between "Normal" and "VLAN" mode. In VLAN mode the clients connected to the 8 ports can onlycommunicatewith the "Uplink" port. Thus the broadcast packets ofone port/userwill not reach the otherports/users and ensure security.
