Read these instructions. Keep these instructions. Heed all warnings. Follow all instructions. Do not use this apparatus near water. Clean only with dry cloth. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. if the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit form the apparatus. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/ apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in anyway, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. The break-in period allows the rubber to loosen and stretch, allowing the cone a larger range of movement, resulting in better sound reproduction. Passive Speaker Active Speaker NOTE: If placing the speakers in a cabinet or on a shelf, position the front of the speakers as close as possible to the front edge of the shelf for optimum audio performance. 2. Connect one end of the speaker wire to the binding posts on the back of the Active Speaker and connect the other end of speaker wire to the binding posts on the back of the Passive Speaker. IMPORTANT: Ensure the same wire is connected to the same color binding post on each speaker. 3. Connect the power adapter to the back of the Active Speaker. Auto-pairing is a convenient connection feature included in all Fluance Bluetooth® Speakers. If the connected Bluetooth®-enabled device leaves the connection range of the Ai40 and returns at a later time, the device will automatically connect. If the device’s Bluetooth® function is disabled and then enabled at a later time, the device will automatically connect as well. *Note: The Fluance Ai40 will only auto-pair to the last device that it was connected to. How do I change the source on my Fluance Ai40? Press the Control Knob or use the Source button on the Remote Control. The LED will flash the Source LED color (Blue/Yellow). How do I adjust the Volume on my Fluance Ai40? Turn the Control Knob or use Volume buttons on Remote Control. The LED will flash Red at Max. How do I adjust the Bass and Treble on my Fluance Ai40? Use the Bass and Treble buttons on the Remote Control. The LED will flash Red at -5 and +5. The LED will flash the Source LED color (Blue/Yellow) at 0. Another device is connected to my Fluance Ai40 and I want to connect my device. You can reset any Bluetooth® connection by pressing and holding the Bluetooth® Pairing Reset button on the back of the Active Speaker for 1 second. You can also press and hold “Play/Pause” on the Remote for 3 seconds. What is the range of my Bluetooth® Connection? The Fluance Ai40 operates with Power Class 2 Bluetooth® devices, which have a range of approximately 33 feet (line of sight). What is the break-in period for Fluance speakers? The break-in period for your Fluance Ai40 speakers is about 10 hours of playing time at normal listening volumes. After this period, the drivers will have had enough movement to perform at their peak level. How do I connect an RCA device? Turn off the system before connecting the RCA cables to prevent feedback. Once the system is turned off, connect the RCA cables to the RCA inputs on the back of the Active speaker. Then turn on the system and use the Control Knob to select RCA input (Yellow). To Obtain Warranty Service Should your Fluance product require warranty service, please contact your Fluance Authorized Dealer and send your product fully insured and freight prepaid to the nearest Fluance authorized service center. Before sending to Fluance, you will be required to get a Return Authorization Number fromyour dealer. Products shipped without a valid Return Authorization Number will be refused. To avoid possible shipping damage, make sure the product is properly packaged and well protected. Include a copy of your original bill of sale as proof of warranty along with your name, home and/or work telephone number(s), a complete return address and a detailed description of the faults.
