TROUBL ESHOO TIN G L I GH TS GU I DE Hold the modlet button down (at least 5 seconds) until the light starts spinning slowly. SLOW SPIN The modlet light spins slowly (one rotation every two seconds) when the modlet is ready to be set up. smartAC thermostat TE1320: • Bluetooth or ZigBee wireless communication • Power source: 2 AAA Batteries - 2x 1.5V DC FAST SPIN The modlet light spins quickly (two rotations every one second) when the modlet is connecting to the WiFi network. OFF The modlet is operating normally. SOLID ON The overload protection circuit has tripped. Press the modlet button to restore power. Use indoors in a dry location. Do not use this product in connection with critical care equipment (i.e. life-support systems). Contains non-user serviceable parts; do not open. This is a live AC outlet, even when the modlet is in an “off scheduled mode”. This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to operate it. The modlet TE5020 is not intended for use with loads rated above 15 Amps. The modlet TE5021 and modlet TE5023 are not intended for use with loads rated above 20 Amps. Do not “daisy-chain” the modlet. Only plug the modlet into a grounded outlet or a grounded extension cord with the same rating as your modlet. In an over current condition or if the modlet is plugged into an old and/or damaged socket the modlet and socket temperature may increase substantially. In such a case, unplug the modlet and appliances immediately and discontinue use. You should contact a qualified electrician to inspect and/or replace the outlet. Connecting a modlet or a modlet BN to an improperly grounded outlet will void all warranties. Warranty: ThinkEco warrants that the modlet, modlet BN, modlet USB receiver, modlet Gateway and smartAC thermostat (collectively “TE Products”) will be free from defects in material and workmanship and perform to ThinkEco’s applicable published specifications for a period of one (1) year from date of delivery to you. The liability of ThinkEco hereunder shall be limited to replacing or repairing, at its option, any defective TE Products which are returned F.O.B. ThinkEco’s corporate address (or, at ThinkEco’s option, refunding the purchase price of such TE Products). In no case are TE Products to be returned without first obtaining permission and a return order number from ThinkEco. You are responsible for the cost of shipment of the defective TE Products to ThinkEco, and ThinkEco is responsible for the cost of shipment of a replacement TE Products to you. In the event you send TE Products back to ThinkEco, and the TE Product is not defective, ThinkEco reserves the right to charge you a fee associated with postage and handling of such TE Product. Replacement TE Products: Replacement TE Products are warranted by ThinkEco pursuant to the warranty set forth above for the longer of (i) thirty (30) days; or (ii) the remaining warranty period for the original Modlet. The replacement TE Product may be refurbished and/ or contain refurbished parts. The following are not covered by this warranty: (i) TE Products which have been subject to abuse, misuse, accident, alteration, neglect, unauthorized repair, inspection or installation, Acts of God, power surge, wear and tear, mishandling, misapplication, or other causes unrelated to defective materials or workmanship; and (ii) any damages and/or viruses caused by use of a third party device in conjunction with the TE Products. You are responsible for determining if a third party device used in conjunction with any TE Product is suitable for such use and ThinkEco is not liable, and this warranty does not cover, any damages caused by, or to, any third party device. ThinkEco will make the final determination as to the existence and cause of any alleged defect. No warranty is made with respect to any custom equipment or goods produced to your specifications except as specifically stated in writing by ThinkEco in the contract for such custom goods. The modlet BN WiFi and thermostat remote allow you to track your plugged-in AC’s energy use. You can conveniently turn it on/off or change the temperature from your smartphone or any browser. You can set up via your smartphone with the ThinkEco smartAC app or with a WiFi connected computer via www.mymodlet.com. NOTE: You will need a WiFi connection in order to use your smartAC WiFi Kit. Please make sure you know your WiFi password before continuing. SET UP VI A SMA R T P H ON E Download the ThinkEco smartAC app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play. Y OU R S M AR TAC W IF I K IT INCL UDES: When your modlet has connected successfully, the light will turn off. Name your modlet to help you distinguish it from other connected ACs. To pair your thermostat remote, insert the batteries. You should see a blinking X in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. 10 Congratulations! You are all set up. Plug in your AC and turn it to the coldest setting. You will now be able to change the temperature and turn it on/ off with your smartphone and thermostat remote. Create an account to set up. If you are part of a utility program, you must use the same email address you registered with. Unplug your air conditioner and plug your modlet BN WiFi into the wall outlet. The modlet light should spin slowly (once every two seconds). Leave the smartAC app and go to your Settings app. Connect to the modlet’s WiFi network in your WiFi settings. Return to the ThinkEco smartAC app. Choose your home WiFi network from the list of networks. If your home network is not on the list, then pull down the list to refresh it. Enter your home WiFi network password and wait for your modlet to join your WiFi network. Your browser will automatically redirect to your WiFi modlet’s set up page. If it does not, check to make sure your computer is still connected to the modlet’s WiFi network. Reconnect to the network if necessary. Select “Scan Available Networks” and choose your home WiFi network. Enter the password for your WiFi network and select “Join Network”. Important! Make sure you use the correct password or you will have to start over from Step 3. When your modlet has connected successfully, the light will turn off. Open your computer’s WiFi settings and confirm you have rejoined your home network. In your browser, a page titled “Almost Done” will display. Click “Search”. Name your modlet to help you distinguish it from other connected ACs. 10 To pair your thermostat remote, insert the batteries. You should see a blinking X in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. 11 Congratulations! You are all set up. Plug in your AC and turn it to the coldest setting. You will now be able to turn it on/off with your mobile phone and thermostat remote. Click “sign me up!” to create an account. If you were not prompted to set up a modlet, go to the Modlet Network tab and select “Add Modlet”.
