ABB projects Metrak # 12372 - reply
Please find in this e-mail, together with attached information, DELTAs reply to e-mail from METLabs, dated 31-05-02
In the following, first the question is shown, then >>> the reply.
1. FCC ID: P7Z440914A (Transceiver) a. Manual - Please submit revised manual (or pertinent pages) reflecting correct wording of users
info statements (see below).

e-mail: vs@delta.dk
Information: www.delta.dk/emc
>>> Please find attached to this e-mail a revised page 2 of the Users manual containing the
requested text changes as detailed below.
b. Users Info - 15.21 statement (copy attached) as intended by the FCC Rules seems to be
slightly different from the wording in the manual. We must get through to the customer that if he
modifies this device his authority to use it will be VOIDED.
>>> In the revised page 2 of the UM, the text of 15.21 has been added verbatim.
c. Users info - 15.105 (copy attached) If your device is digital you must include this in the
manual.
>>> The devices are digital. In the revised page 2 of the UM, the "NOTE"-text of 15.105 (a) has
been added verbatim.
d. Operational description - Please provide (see 2.1033 for description)
>>> Attached to this e-mail is the operational description (file named "Excount-II Functional
Description.pdf). The text covers both units in two sections.
e. block diagram - Please provide
>>> Attachment clarification. Block diagrams for both units has been shown on the same page.
Ref. earlier e-mail conversations.
f. Photos - test setup is still needed. The photos document you provided was locked and I could
not extract. Could you send them as a separate exhibit?
>>> Attachment clarification. Photo file transmitted together with report, and was not send with
the other photos. Ref. earlier e-mail conversations.
g. Label - The 15.19 statement that you need is (3) not (1). (copy attached) Please send revised
label. Location exhibit is fine.
>>> Please find attached revised label. (File: Label-Transceiver-v2.pdf). Photo exhibit earlier
send now only indicate placement of label. NOTE: the drawing of the label is only correct if the
following request is granted.
Request: Due to the size of the hand held transceiver and the size of the label, it is
requested to place the statement of 15.19(a)(3) only in the Users manual, as indicated on
attached revised page 2. The request is based on text in 15.19(a)(5).
h. Accessory devices - Were there any necessary for testing?
>>> There were no accessories necessary for testing. Also during operation, no accessories are
needed.
i. Confidential letter - Parts list is not a necessary exhibit for the FCC. The FCC has become
very particular in there confidentialitys. Please remove reference to the parts list from your letter
and submit a revised one.
>>> Please find attached revised confidential letter, dated 2002-06-04
2. FCC ID: P7Z440914B (Sensor)
Same items as above with a further issue re: label.
a. Label - It's ok for the FCC ID to be etched into the device. However, please confirm that the
part it is etched into is a nonremovable piece.
>>> It is hereby confirmed that the metal part in which the FCC ID is marked is nonremovable.
b. Also, we still need the 15.19(a)(3) statement on the device pursuant to FCC Rules. You can
add that on a label (permanently fixed) near the FCC ID if that part is nonremovable.
>>> Request: Partly due to the size of the sensor and partly because the sensor is placed inside
a high voltage utility system and can only be reached by radio, it is requested to place the
statement of 15.19(a)(3) only in the Users manual, as indicated on attached revised page 2. The
request is based on text in 15.19(a)(5).
Regards,
Vagn
