The Kensinglon Entertainment Dock 500 lets you play music from your iPod
through your stereo or View photos and videos on your television. Simply place
your iPod in the dock, plug in the appropriate output device— erect orTv—
and enjoy your favorite entertainmentl
more: The iPod nano supports musit lunctionalily only. you cannot View photos
or videos on a television using the kensington Entertainment Dock SDI) with
an iPod nano.
Playing Your iPod Through Your Stereo or TV
1. Cunnenyour Entertainment Dock 500 toyour stereo orTV usingtl’ie
approprrate (able and ltcAjaclo, as follows:
- To listen to music on your stereo, plug the headphone jack (I) into the
Audio/video Dut port (a) on the Entertainment Dock, an d plug the Right
Channel (Red) and Left Channel (white) Audio RCA jacks (L and M) into
the appropriate ports on your stereo.
- To view photos or video on your TV, plug the headphone jack (J) into
the Audio/video Out port (5) on the Entertainment Dock, and plug the
video (yellow) RCA jack (M) into the appropriate port on yourTv.
~ lfyour television has S-Video capability, you can view photos and videos
in Srlfideo by plugging an S—Vrdeo cable (Sold separately) into the SrVideo
Out port (I) on the Entertainment Dock and plugging the other end into
the appropriate port on your TV.
1. Plug the Ac power adapter (E) into an Ac outlet, and then plug the other end
into the Power port (H) on the Entertainment Dock.
3. To View photos on your iv, go to Slideshow Settings on your iPod and set the
TV out setting to ON. To view videos on your TV, go to video Settings on your
iPod and Setthe TV out setting to on.
4. insert your iPod intothe Entertainment Dock as follows:
~ lfwur iPod came with an Apple dock adapter (newer iPods such as iPod
nano or an iPod with videocome withthls adapter), insertthe adapter
into the Universal Dock for iPod on the Entertainment Dock SUD, and
then place your iPod into the adapter.
- llyou have an older iPod that did not come with a dock adapter. you
can purchase one at any Apple retarl store or from the Apple website
wwwapplecorn After purchasing, insert the adapter into the Universal
Dockfor iPod on the Entertainment Dock sub, and then place your iPod
into the adapter.
Note: The Kerrsillgtan Entertainment Dock sun can he used withnut the Apple doc
adapter, but you must insert the iPod carefully since the dock connector may not
properly support the iPod. kenslngton is not responsible for any damage caused by
using the Entertainment Dock without an Apple clock adapter..
5, Turn on your stereo or television. Switch to the input that matches the port
you used to plug in the Audio/Video cable (D)—on your stereo, this might be
the “auxiliary input" port; on your television, it might be the "Video For
"indeo 2" port, Adjust the volume tothe level you want.
6. Use the Entertainment Dock remote (B) to control playback ofyour music,
photo slideshows, or videos.
Using the Entertainment Dock Remote
you can usethe Entertainment Dock remote for both menu navgatipn on your
iPod and to control playbaclcof music, photo slideshows, and videos.
For iPod menu navigation, use the Tollowing buttons:
- me): Presstu scroll up rn a playiist.
- Down (P Press to stroll down in a playlist.
- Select( . ressto go down one menu lava , pressand hold to go up one
menu level
To control media playback, use the Playback Control dial part (a). which alters
the following (Eatures:
- Play/Pause: Press >rr to begin or pause playback.
- Volume Up: Press + to increasethe volume.
- Volume Down: Press - to decrease one volume.
- SkipForward/FastForwardzPressand hold >>I to moveforward
through items.
- Skip Back/Rewind: Press and hold l<< to move baEkwald thmugh items
Troubleshooting
If you cannot play music, photos, or videos using the Entertainment Dock sou,
follow these steps in sequence until problem is resolved.
. Make surethat your stereo pm is turned on.
r Make surethatyourstereo orTv is set to same input you used to plug in the
Audio/Video cable (for example, auxiliary, Video 1, Front Channel 3, etc).
. check to See that all cables are securely plugged in.
~ Try increasing or decreasing the volume with the Entertainment
Dock remote.
- Try increasing or decreasing the volume on your stereo orTv
- Make sure that your iPod isruily seated in the Kensingtnfl Entertainment
Dock.
- Try unplugging the Ac power adapter from the Kensington Entertainment
Dock son, and then (allow the steps described in “Piaying your iPod Through
Your Stereo or TV" again.
