16. Main plug is used as disconnect device and it should remain readily operable during intended use. In order to disconnect the apparatus
from the main completely, the main plug should be disconnected from the main socket outlet completely.
17. Batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, re or the like.
18. For sufcient ventilation, the minimum distance around the apparatus is 10cm.
19. The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspaper, tablecloths, curtains, etc.

Selecting ne audio equipment such as the unit you’ve just purchased is only the start of your musical enjoyment. Now it’s time to consider how
you can maximize the fun and excitement your equipment can provide. Life Lab International Ltd. and the Electronics Industries Association’s
Consumer Electronics Group want you to get the most out of your equipment by playing it at a safe listening level. One that lets the sound come
through loud and clear with annoying blaring or distortion and most importantly, without affecting your sensitive hearing. Sound can be
deceiving. Over time while listening to music, your ‘comfort level’ adapts to higher volumes of sound. So much that what sounds ‘normal’ can
actually be loud and harmful to your hearing. Guard against this by setting your equipment at a safe level BEFORE your hearing adapts.
To establish a safe level: Start your volume control at a low setting then slowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfortable and clearly
and without distortion.
Once you have established a comfortable listening level: Set the volume dial and leave it there.
Taking a minute to do this now will help to prevent hearing damage or loss in the future. After all, we want you listening for a lifetime. Used
wisely, your new Ci302 CD Home system will provide a lifetime of fun and enjoyment. Since hearing damage from loud noise is often
undetected until it is too late, we recommend you avoid prolonged exposure to excessive noise. Below is a list of sound levels for your reference.

operation
Refer to the location of controls diagram before operation.
u To turn the unit on, press the STANDBY button and the unit will enter TUNER mode rst.
v To turn the unit off, press the STANDBY button again.
notes: When the unit is off, it is in standby mode and will display the clock time.
If the unit was turned off by pressing the STANDBY button while playing, it will turn on to the same source as before.
batter y precautions:
Follow these precautions when using batteries in this device:
u
Warning - Danger of explosion if batteries are incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
v
Use only the size and type of batteries specied.
w
Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the battery compartment.
note: A reversed battery may cause damage to the device.
x
Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline, Rechargeable and Carbon-zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones.
y
If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.

Do not try to recharge a battery not intended to be recharged - it can overheat and rupture. (Follow battery manufacturer’s directions.)
inserting remote battery
u Remove the battery compartment, located on the bottom rear of the
remote control, by sliding the compartment out. (You can also insert
a penny or similar object into the groove on the compartment to help
side it out.
v Install a CR2025 battery, paying attention to the polarity diagram
in the compartment (positive side up).
w Replace the battery compartment.
using the FM radio
u Turn on the unit by pressing the STANDBY button.
v If you are not already in TUNER mode, press the MODE button and select Tuner mode.
w If the FM station you have selected is broadcasting in stereo, “STEREO” will appear in the display. To choose
between stereo and mono palyback, press the STEREO / MONO button on the remote.
x Repeatedly press the SKIP UP + button or the SKIP DOWN – button to manually advance the frequency on the
display up or down until the desired frequency appears.
y For AUTO TUNING, press and hold the SKIP UP + button or the SKIP DOWN – button until the frequency in the
display starts to scan and then release; the tuner will search and then stop on the next strong station signal it nds.
Repeat this step until the desired frequency appears on the display.
note: Unravel and extend the FM wire antenna for best reception.
setting radio presets
u Follow the steps in the previous section to tune a station. Press the PROGRAM / CLOCK SET button; “MEM” will
appear in the display and “01” (if no presets have ever been set) will blink in the display.
v Within ve seconds, press the PRESET + or PRESET – button to select a desired preset number (01-20).
w Press the PROGRAM / CLOCK SET button again to conrm the setting and the station will be saved into memory.
x Repeat these steps for up to 20 presets, as desired.
y For AUTO PRESETS, press and hold the PROGRAM / CLOCK SET button, “MEM” and "AUTO" will appear in the
display, the station will automatically be saved into memory (from Pr 01 to Pr 20).
streaming music and audio
with Bluetooth wireless
u Turn on the unit by pressing the STANDBY Button.
v Please the MODE button to set the unit to BT mode. One your Bluetooth enabled deivce, select “Ci302” from the
available list and your Bluetooth audio device with connect to the Ci302.
w If you wish to pair the Ci302 with a different Bluetooth audio device, press the PAIRING button to disconnect the
current paired Bluetooth audio device or make sure the current devicehas been moved out of range.
x During playback, press the PLAY / PAUSE
button to pause playback and again to resume playback.
y While in STOP mode, you can press SKIP UP + or SKIP DOWN – button to select a specic track for playback.
U To skip forward or backward on the disc, press the SKIP UP + or SKIP DOWN – button to skip to the beginning of
the next track or the beginning of the previous track.
V To search forward or backward on the disc, press and hold the SKIP UP + or SKIP DOWN – button to search
within the track currently playing.
note: If the last paired Bluetooth audio device is powered on and within range with Bluetooth enabled, the device with
automatically reconnect to the Ci302.
retrieving radio presets
u Turn the unit on and switch to TUNER mode.
v Press the PRESET + or – button repeatedly to retrieve the desired preset station.
using the CD player
u Turn on the unit by pressing the STANDBY Button.
v If you are not already in CD mode, press the MODE button and select CD mode.
w Press the “Press to Open” area on the CD lid to open the CD compartment. Gently press a CD onto the center
spindle with the label side facing up and close the CD lid. The total number of tracks will appear in the display.
x Press the PLAY / PAUSE
button to begin playback. The current track and elasped time will appear in the display.
y During playback, press the PLAY / PAUSE
button to pause playback and again to resume playback.
U When the disc is nished playing, it will stop. Press the STOP buttonto stop the dic before it is nished.
notes: This unit plays 3 inch single, standard CD, CD-R/RW discs.
If a disc is inserted incorrectly, dirty, damaged or not present at all, “NO DISC” will appear in the display.
Playback will stop when you open the CD compartment, but it is not recommended to open the compartment before
pressing the STOP button.
using repeat playback
u While in the STOP / PLAY mode, press the REPEAT button to cycle through the following playback modes:
“Repeat One” (will playback a single track continuously; see the previous section for how to select a desired track),
“Repeat All” (will playback all tracks on the disc continuously).
v When the playback mode is selected, press the PLAY / PAUSE
button.
note: To STOP AND CANCEL REPEAT playback, press the STOP button. To just cancel Repeat playback, press the
REPEAT button until the Repeat indicators disappear from the display.
using random and intro playback
u To RANDOMLY PLAY the tracks on the disc, while in STOP mode: Press the RANDOM button on the remote;
Random playback will begin automatically.
v To PLAY THE INTRO (rst 10 seconds) of each track on the disc, while in STOP mode: Press the INTRO button
on the remote; Intro playback will begin automatically.
notes: To STOP AND CANCEL RANDOM playback, press the STOP button. To just cancel Random playback,
press the RANDOM button until “RAN” disappear from the display.
To STOP AND CANCEL INTRO playback, press the STOP button.
playback from a specific CD track
u While in STOP mode, press the SKIP UP + button or the SKIP DOWN – button to select a specic track for playback.
v When the desired track/le is selected, press the PLAY / PAUSE
button and playback will begin with
the track/le you selected.
using forward / reverse and skip / search
u To SKIP FORWARD or BACKWARD, press the SKIP UP + button to skip to the beginning of the next track
or the SKIP DOWN – button to return to the beginning of the current track
v To SEARCH FORWARD or BACKWARD, press and hold the SKIP UP + button or the SKIP DOWN – button
to search within the current track that is playing.
aux-in connection
u Insert one end of the 3.5mm audio cable (not included) into the LINE OUT jack on your external audio unit (e.g. iPad,
iPod shufe, mobile phone, MP3 player, digital media player, etc.) and the other end into the Aux In Jack on rear of
this unit.
v To listen to the external audio source, turn this unit on by pressing the STANDBY button, then power on the external
audio source. Next press the MODE button to select AUX mode.
w Press play on the external audio source and the sound will playback through the speakers of the home stereo.
note: It is suggested that you unplug the audio cable when you are not listening to the external audio unit.
CD memory programming (up to 20 tracks)
Programming is the ability to preselect the order in which a series of tracks will be played.
u While in the STOP mode, press the PROGRAM / CLOCK SET button. “MEM”, the track number and “Pr01”
(the program number) will appear in the display.
v Select a track to be programmed using the SKIP UP + button or the SKIP DOWN – button.
w Press the PROGRAM / CLOCK SET button to save the track. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to program additional tracks
up to a maximum of 20 tracks.
x Press the PLAY / PAUSE
button to begin program playback.
notes: To CLEAR THE MEMORY while in the STOP mode, press the STOP button again.
setting the time
u With the power off, press and hold the PROGRAM / CLOCK SET button until “12” or “24” Hour blinks in
the display.
v Press the SKIP UP + or SKIP DOWN – button to set the unit to the 24 hour mode or 12 hour mode. Then press
the PROGRAM / CLOCK SET button and the hours will blink.
w Press the SKIP UP + or SKIP DOWN – button to set the current hour. (If you selected 12 hour mode,
be sure to observe the PM indicator to make sure you have set the hour correctly.) Press the PROGRAM /
CLOCK SET button again to conrm and the minute digits will blink.
x Press the SKIP UP + or SKIP DOWN – button to set the current minute. Press the PROGRAM / CLOCK SET
button and the time will be set.
note: The time will appear in the display when the unit is turned off.
adjusting the volume, treble and bass
u Press the VOLUME UP ( + ) or VOLUME DOWN ( – ) on the remote or on the main unit to increase or decrease
the volume.
v To MUTE THE MAIN VOLUME: Press the MUTE button on the remote; "MUTE" will appear in the display.
Press this button again or either of the VOLUME UP ( + ) or VOLUME DOWN ( – ) on the remote or on the
main unit to unmute.
w To ADJUST THE TREBLE: Press the TREBLE ( + ) or ( – ) button on the remote to increase or decrease the treble.
x To ADJUST THE BASS: Press the BASS ( + ) or ( – ) button on the remote to increase or decrease the bass.
notes: The range for the treble and the bass is –4 to +4.
When this unit is turned off and back on again, the volume will resume at the level which you set before turning the unit off.
using the sleep function
u While unit is on, press the SLEEP button on the remote control. The unit display will show SLEEP and “90” for
approximately 5 seconds, indicating 90 minutes audio playback before the unit automatically powers off.
v To select desired time, press SLEEP button repeatedly to display time in 10 minute increments descending from
90 to 10 minutes. Pause at the desired duration. After 5 seconds the duration time will disappear from the
display and “SLEEP” will appear on the display.
notes: To VIEW THE REMAINING SLEEP time, press the SLEEP button once.
To CANCEL THE SLEEP function, repeatedly press the SLEEP button until “OFF” appears on the display.
setting the timer
u With the unit off, press and hold the TIMER button until the TIMER ON hour blinks in the display.
v Within a few seconds, press the SKIP UP + or SKIP DOWN – button to set the TIMER ON hour. Then press the TIMER
button again to conrm. Repeat to set the TIMER ON minute.
w Press the SKIP UP + or SKIP DOWN – button to set the desired mode (BT, Tuner, CD). Then press the TIMER button
again to conrm.
notes: To CANCEL THE TIMER, unit must be in POWER OFF mode. Press the TIMER button and "Timer" will disappear
from display. To STOP THE TIMER, press the "STANDBY" button.
If you want to use your iPod or CD as the source for timer fuction, please make sure your iPod or iPhone is docked correctly
or a CD is loaded properly in the CD compartment.
caring for CDs
• Treat the compact disc carefully. Handle the compact disc by the edges only and avoid allowing your ngers to
come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the disc.
• Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to the compact disc label.
• Clean the compact disc periodically with a soft, lint-free dry cloth. Never use detergents or abrasive cleaners to
clean the compact disc. If necessasry, use a CD cleaning kit (sold separately).
• If a CD skips or becomes stuck on a section of the compact disc, it is probably dirty or damaged (scratched).
• When cleaning the compact disc, wipe in a straight line from the center of the CD out to the edge of the disc.
Never wipe in circular motions.
• This unit is designed to only play compact discs bearing the Compact Disc Digital Audio identiication logo. Other
compact discs may not conform to the CD standard and may not play properly
• Compact discs should be stored in their cases after each use to avoid damage.
• Do not expose compact discs to direct sunlight, high humidity, high temperatures or dust, etc. Prolonged exposure
or extreme temperatures can warp the CD.
• Do not stick or write anytihng on either side of the CD. Sharp writing instruments or ink may damage the surface.
