2. HA WAREINSTALLATION
This chapter describes how to install the
CompacLFlash Ethernet LAN Card in your
notebook PC or FDA/Palm PC and connect it to
the network
It’s referred to “the Compact Card” for the
CampactFlash Ethernet LAN Card and referred
ta “the PC Card’y‘or the CampactFlash LAN
Card with our CompactFlash accessory adapter
in this manual.
Please refer to Chapter.3 Software Installation
on how to install network drivers using menu
driven installation utilityl
Inserting the CompactFlash Ethernet
LAN Card
For Windows (IE-based FDA/Palm PC:
Hold the Compact Card with wide connector
toward the CompactFlash slot and the brand lable
facing upward, as shown in Fig2.l.

For Notbook PC:
Insert the CompactFlash LAN Card into our
CompacLFlash accessory adapten By doing this,
our CompactFlash LAN Card will turn into
conventional PCMCIA type II PC Card. Then
hold the PC Card with wide connector toward the

Connecting to the Network
Connect unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable to
the RJ-45 connector of media coupler before
loading any network driver.

Ethernet network, Category 3, 4 or 5 unshielded
twisted pair (UTP) cable could be used to
connect between the media coupler and a
lOMbps hub or switch.
