FCC COMPLIANCE STATEMENTS CO i M FCC Part 15 Registration TlllS equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part is of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy, and if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation if this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more ofthe following measures: - kcorient or relocate the receivmg antenna - Increase the distance between the equipment and receiver . Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different front that to which the receiver is connected. - t‘unsult an experienced radio/TV technician for help. Curt/um. HCA2000, and HLZOOO are HomeNet to Ethernet Bridge, HBZOOO serve as a bridge between tlte well-known Ethernet segment and current home network (hereafter refer as HomeNet) . ll filters the error packets and switches good packets between these two networks. HCAZOOO or HL2000 is not only a bridge but also a NAT router build-in a DHCP server, It serves as an IP (Internet Protocol) sharing device. in terms of HCAZOOO, the DHCP server is implemented at the HomeNet segment, while the HLZOUO implement the DHCP server at the Etherttet segment. The other segment ofHLZOOO or HCA2000 was separate as an internet (or Intranet) by a set ot‘legal network parameters. All DHCP clients access the Internet resource through the NAT routing protocol that was built into HLZOUO or HCAZOOO, HBQOOO is useful to interface the home~networking device to Ethernet. HCAZOOO or HL2000 is benefit to lntcl‘ cc the HotneNet to Ethernet For home and office users, that use one connection (a cable modem or a ADSL modem which was assigned a formal IP address ) to access the intemet resource, wltiie multiple user (PCs) would like to share the same connection to the tntcrnet. using a HCAZOOO or HL2000 to connect all the PCs through the exist telephone line is simply the best solution to access IItICI'tlcl. Follow the same steps to connect any device with an Ethenet IOBASE-T interface (such as a HUB or pl nneri to a Home network. If multiple PCs require accessing [he internet through a cable modem, a HCAZOOO can be used, lt‘only one PC is required. l-IBZOOO is enough. HLZOOO is designed for HotnePNA interface to inlernet. Now you should have connected the I'thcrnet port. HomeNet port and the Power to the appropriate devices. FIRMWARE UPGRADE System Requirements - One free COM port on PC. - A pin-to—pin RS-237 cable, One end is 9 pin male connector, the other end is 9 or 25 pin female connector depends on the COM port. - FWLOADEXE ‘ This is a DOS program for firmware upload. You can run it directly from Windows NT/95 also, ' I IISZKI’WBIN l'ltis is n firmware image tile. This file MUST reside in the same subdirectory with FWLOADEXE For hotter disk access speed. it is recommended that you copy these two files in your hard disk before they are uploaded. Getting Uploaded 1. Connect RS-232 cable from the Console port ofthis Bridge to the PC COM port. iv At the DOS prompt, run FWLOADEXE with COM port specified. You can type "FWLOAD -'.7" first for reference, For example 11! use port COM I to upload firmware. type command as: C: l> FWLOAD 1 Turn on the Bridge, FWLOADEXE will automatically detect the Bridge and complete the uploading. The following messages appear in sequence System firmware upload program. ver 1.0, Copyright 1999, .A FNLOAD ~? for usage help. pressto abort, Uploading . => 100992 bytes transmitted 0K: upload succeeded. Please power on the device again. It" any error message appears. check the cable connectivity and make sure that you have selected an correcr COM port, then go through thew «reps again.
