Flreplace Remote Control Operating Instructions For The Homeowner
The J.G. Control is designed for use with decorative gas fireplace and wall heaters using SIT gas valve and
2“" flame valve.
The J.G. Control display shows the clock. current room temperature. target temperature, timer setting. Auto.
ONIOFF status and low battery and tan. “Child-Proof".
Installation Precautions:
The J.G. Control is tested safe when installed in accordance with this installation manual. It is your responsibility
to read all instructions before starting installation and to follow these instmctions carefully during installation.
The J.G. Control MUST be installed by a qualified service technician.
The J.G. Control is carefully engineered and MUST be installed only as specified. If you modify it or any of
its components, you may possibly cause a fire hazard.
1.0 Remote Receiver Installation:
WARNING: TURN ELECTRICAL POWER OFF AT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER BEFORE BEGINNING THIS
INSTALLATION:
2.0 Operation Instructions:
1. The Control has five operating modes. they are. 2" flame. Auto. Timer, Flame and Fan Adjustment.
2. You can only operate the Flame and Fan Adjustment modes in Auto Mode.
2.1 Fireplace Control Operation:
WARNING: THE REMOTE RECEIVER WILL AUTOMATICALLY TURN OFF THE FIREPLACE AFTER SIX
HOURS OF UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. PRESS AUTO BUTTON ON THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER
TO RESET THE REMOTE CONTROL, THEN PRESS AUTO BUTTON AGAIN TO RESUME OPERATION.
Ar Auto Mode: See Figure 1.
1. Set the desired target temperature.
2. Press the AUTO ONIOFF button once to activate
the Auto mode. Please make sure the target
temperature is higher than the room temperature
before activation the Auto mode.
3. In Auto Mode the Remote Transmitter will
automatically turn on the heater when the room
temperature is below the target temperature and
turn bit the heater when the room temperature is
above the target temperature.
4. You can use 2"n FLAME button to turn the 2'”
Flame in ON or OFF.

WARNING: IT TAKES SOME TIME FOR THE RECEIVER TO RESPOND TO THE TRANSMITTER. DO
NOT PRESS THE AUTO BUTTON MORE THAN ONCE WITH 2 SECONDS FOR CORRECT OPERATION.

E. Setting (clock and Unit of Temperature):
See Figure 6.
1. Press and hold CLOCK button for about 2
seconds.
2. The hour display will flash. Use the UP
and DOWN buttons to set the hour

F. Batteries: See Figure 7.
1. The Remote Transmitter uses 3 AAA-size batteries. Replace these batteries at least every 6 months or
when the Low battery indicator on the LCD is on.
2. After you take out the batteries. wait for at least 1 minute before putting fresh batteries into the Remote
Transmitter.
3. Use fresh Alkaline batteries only.
Note: It Is not necessary to re—set your private code when Installing Fresh Batteries.
Change Batteries At Least Every 6 Month
WARNING: THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER WILL AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH OFF THE FIREPLACE
WHEN THE BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER ARE LOW.
3.0 IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE:

3.1 Coding Instructions: See Figure 9.
1. Remove the cover on the back of the Remote Transmitter to expose the code sWitches. Slide the code
switches to your chome of ON or OFF positions. FACTORY SETTING IS ALL "OFF"
2. Remove power from the Remote Receiver by unplugging the power cord or power off at the circuit breaker
3. Keep the Remote Transmitter and the Remote Receiver within 2-10 feet.
4. Powerup the Remote Receiver and use the manual Red button on the Receiver to turn it ON.
5 Install fresh 3 AAA alkaline batteries into the Remote Transmitter.
6. Press any button on the Remote Transmitter, the Remote Receiver will produce a ‘beep' sound when it
receives the code from the Remote Transmitter.
7. Replace the cover of the Remote Transmitter (The system is now ready to operate,
Notezlf you do not hear a 'beep‘ sound from the Remote Receiver. remove the batteries from the
Remote Transmitter and Power-up the Remote Receiver and turn It ON. Repeat step 2 to 6 after 1
minute.

Caution: When installing more than one remote control Within 30 feet, you must use a separate
coding for each remote control.
1. Follow the setup procedure for remote control number one as described.
2. Turn receiver number one to OFF position.
3. Before installing batteries into remote transmitter number two, change the DIP switch pattern. Follow the
set-up procedure for remote control number two,
4. Return all receivers to remote position to ensure proper operation.
