The Acumen Wall Mount Remote Control is destgned for use with decorative gas fireplace and wall heaters
using SIT 85? Nova gas valve
The Wall Mount Transmitter is a two»button wall mount transmitter. which turn the gas onloff, The display of
the transmitter shows the current room temperature and low battery indicator.
Installation Precautions:
The Wall Mounl Remote Control is tested safe When installed in accordance with this installation manual. It is
your responsibility to read all instruction before starting installation and to follow these Instructions carefully
during installation.
The Wall Mount Remote Control MUST be installed by a qualified service technician.
The Wall Mount Remote Control is carefully engineered and MUST be installed only as specified. If you
modify it or any of its components, you may possrbly cause a fire hazard.

1.0lnstallation instruction
1.1 Installing the Receiver
I , WARNING: TURN ELECTRICAL POWER OFF AT THE CIRCUIT BEAKER BEFORE BEGINNING THIS
INSTALLATION.
11 Make sure the slide swttch on the Remote Receiver is at the OFF position. See Figure 1

2. Connect the leads to the millivolt generator and the main burner to the output cable or the Remote
Receiver as shown in Figure 2,
3. Installing the Remote Receiver to a Fireplace:
Secure the Fireplace Mounting plate to the base pan of the fireplace,
— Slide the Remote Receiver into the fireplace mounting plate. See Figure 3

Put the swrtch cap to the slide switch,
Slide the battery compartment into the Remote Receiveri See Figure 4‘
In order to prevent the Remote Receiver (fireplace installation only) from overheating. put a heat shield
(option item) above the Remote Receiver See Figure 5.

1.2 Installing the Wall Mount Transmitter
Install the wall mount transmitter into a wall junction box as shown in Figure 6.

2.0 Operation Instructions:
2.1 Transmitter Operation
A. Flame OnIOfI
1. Press the Start button once to start the 2 hour timer and turn on the fireplace.
2. Press the Off button once to turn off the fireplace.
WARNING: lT TAKES SOME TIME FOR THE RECEIVER TO RESPOND TO THE TRANSMITTERDO NOT
PRESS THE MANUAL AND I OR AUTO ON/OFF BUTTONS MORE THAN ONCE WITH 2 SECONDS FOR
CORRECT OPERATION.
B. “FPC Selection
1 Press and hold the Off button lot longer than 4 seconds The “F or °C display will blink.
2 Press the Oil button to select temperature display in nF or “C.
3. The LCD will show the room temperature about 16 seconds afterward.
2.2 Receiver Operation
1. Slide the slide swrich to Remote position. The Receiver will respond to the Transmitter and turn the
fireplace on and oil,
Slide the slide sWitch back to the on position to turn off the Receiver.
The Receiver will automatically turn off the fireplace after two hours.
Changing Batteries
Slide the slide swrlch to Off position
Press the battery compartment slightly into the Remote Receiver and then release. The battery
compartment Will pop out of the Remote Receiver
Slide open the battery door and replace batteries
Wall of 1 minute and replace the battery door and slide the battery compartment back into the Remote
Receiver.
5. Press the battery compartment slightly into the Wall Mount Transmitter and then release. The battery
compartment will pop out of the Transmitter.
Slide open the battery door and replace batteries,
Wait of 1 minute and replace the battery door and slide the battery compamnent back into the Wall
Mount Transmitter

2.4 Batteries
1. The Wall Mount Transmitter uses 3 AAA-size batteries. Replace these batteries at least every 6 months
or when the Low battery indicator on the LCD is on
2. After you take out the batteries. wait for at least 1 minute before putting fresh batteries into the Remote
Transmitter
3. Use fresh alkaline batteries only
WARNING: THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER WILL AUTOMATICALY SWITCH OFF THE FIREPLACE WHEN
THE BATTERlES IN THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER IS LOW.
3.0 IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE:
You can set a private code into your system lo prevent accidental operation by another transmitter nearby.
See Figure 7.
3.1 Coding Instructions: .
1 Remove the cover on the back of the Remote Transmitter to expose the code sWitches. Slide the code
swuches to you choice of ON or OFF positions. FACTORY SETTING IS ALL "OFF".
2. Take me Remote Transmitter close to the fireplace or the Remote Receiver (less than 5 feet from the
fireplace or Remote Receiver is recommended )
3. Install fresh AAA alkaline batteries into the Remote Transmitter. The LCD on the Remote Transmitter WlII

if you do not hear a beep' sound from the Remote Receiver. removes batteries from the Remote
Transmitter. wait ior1 minute, and repeat step 2 to 5
Replace the cover of the Remote Transmitter and the Receiver. The system is now ready to operate.
If you desire to operate multiple Remote Receivers with the one Remote Transmitter, continue to hold
the button on the Remote Transmitter as you bring the Remote Transmitter within 5 feet of each Remote
Receiver. Each will acknowledge receipt of coding with a beep
