0ADEMBI: (Draft 7/17/00) 7/1 mo SBOOGDO Wireless Garage Door Module INSTALLA TION AND SETUP GUIDE INTRODUCTION The SBOOGDO Wireless Garage Door Module provides 1 form-C relays and operates in conjunction with 4-bllfi0l‘l 5800 Keytob transmitters such as the 5804 and 5804E. The SSDOGDO allows up to 8 wireless keys to control a garage door opener, When DlP switch 6 in the OFF position, the relay momentarily changes state when an enrolled button is decoded (pulsed relay mode). It DIP switch 6 is OFF when power is applied, the relay is always lorced to the reset state (NC and COM contacts connected). When DIP switch 6 in the ON position, the relay changes state each time an enrolled button is decoded (toggled relay mode). It DlP switch 6 is ON when power is applied, the relay state is not changed. The SBOOGDO is powered Irom a 12VDC or QVAC external power source. POWERING THE SWOGDO The SBDOGDO can be powered lrom either an AC or 00 external power source rated and connected as follows (see Figure 2 for connections): Power Sou rces Type nartng Ac QVAC. t5vA (e.g., ADEMCO 1332| Dc tszc. toorrlA Connection terminals 7 and s First cut the connector ctr the unll's cable. then strip the wire ends and connect to terminals 7 and 3. RELAY and LED OPERATION The SBOOGDO provides one, dry contact, torm-C relay (SPDT, rated 2A, 28VACNDC). the yellow LED, located above the DIP switch, monitor the relay activity as shown below: Flele and LED Functions Relay LED Activam Upon... NIA Red NIA MOUNTING LOCATION GUIDELINES Use the lollowing guidelines when selecting a mounting location lor the SBOOGDO Garage Door Module: 0 Mount the SSOOGDO in a high location tor best wireless reception. 0 Do not mount the SBOOGDO on or near metal objects. This decreases range and/or blocks wireless transmissions. o The SBOOGDO must be located at least 10 Ieet Irom any remote keypads to avoid interference trom the microprocessors in those units. WIRING AND MOUNTING IMPORTANT:Beiore permanently mounting the SBOOGDO. you must perlorm the setup procedure described in the Setting Up the 5817on section. 1, Remove the SSOOGDO‘s cover (insert the blade oi a small screwdriver in the slot at the cover's top end and twist). 2. Disconnect any wiring already connected to the module. ANTENNA z Qairfit FIF lN’I‘ERFERENCE Len lREDl l vttlrzmv raconocmln a-hconocHlN moan among! , set re its? at: swrrcti tiara. Connection Diagram 3, Hold the module in the desired mounting position and mark the mounting hole locations through the two mounting holes in the base of the module, Screws and plastic anchors are suitable tor a typical installation. but any two suitable lasteners may be used that secure the base firmly to the mounting surlace. Note: The external power supply unit should be mounted in close proximity to the 5800GDO. This avoids voltage losses that occur on long power lines. 4. Connect relay and power wiring to the SBOOGDO’s terminals. Refer Figure 2. 5. Place the iront cover over the module, position the wiring in the exit slot, and snap the cover in place, The SBOOGDO module should now be tested with the rest ol the system.
