STATEMENT FOR MODUAL APPROVAL  This product is sold to OEM integrators only. The manual for the OEM integrators must include some instructions to be followed by the end users in the user manual. For example:  The OEM integrators must be instructed to ensure that the end user has no manual instructions to remove or install the device. The OEM integrators must be instructed about the end product labeling ("Contains TX FCC ID: QDWWM168GI")  etc.  This device is intended only for OEM integrators under the following conditions: 1) The antenna must be installed such that 20 cm is maintained between the antenna and users, and 2) The transmitter module may not be co-located with any other transmitter or antenna.  As long as the 2 conditions above are met, further transmitter test will not be required. However, the OEM integrator is still responsible for testing their end product for any additional compliance requirements required with this module installed (for example, digital device emissions, PC peripheral requirements, etc.).  IMPORTANT NOTE: In the event that these conditions cannot be met (for example certain laptop configurations or co-location with another transmitter), then the FCC authorization is no longer considered valid and the FCC ID can not be used on the final product. In these circumstances, the OEM integrator will be responsible for re-evaluating the end product (including the transmitter) and obtaining a separate FCC authorization.  End Product Labeling This transmitter module is authorized only for use in device where the antenna may be installed such that 20 cm may be maintained between the antenna and users (for example, access points, routers, wireless ADSL modems, and similar equipment). The final end product must be labeled in a visible area with the following: "Contains TX FCC ID: QDWWM168GI".  Manual Information for End Users The end user must not have manual instructions to remove or install the device. The user manual for end users must include the following information in a prominent location. “IMPORTANT NOTE:   To comply with FCC RF exposure compliance requirements, this grant is applicable to only Mobile Configurations. The antennas used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.

This document describes how to install your 802.11g WLAN USB Module, which aims to let  your computer communicate with 802.11 networks quickly and seamlessly. Here we take Windows XP as an example. Installation Procedures 1.  Make sure that your 802.11 g WLAN USB Module has inserted to your PC. Before  installation, the device can be found as a yellow question mark named Network Controller under expanded submenu of Other devices in  Device Manager display window.   2.  The system will detect the device, and the  Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box will appear. Choose Cancel to proceed.   3.  Insert the supplied Setup CD into your CD-ROM drive, and  choose  Install Driver from the prompted startup window to begin the installation. If it does not run automatically, please manually execute setup.exe under the CD’s directory to execute it. 4.  Click  Next in the WLAN IEEE802.11b/g Setup window to proceed. The system will start to copy the drivers found. It may take couple of seconds. 5.  Choose Continue Anyway when the system displays the Hardware Installation message box. 6.  On the Install Finished  screen, choose No, I will restart my computer later. Then click Finish to complete the installation. Now you shall find the WLAN-G Configuration Tool tray icon, , appeared in the system tray. The installation is entirely finished at the moment.   Double-click the icon to launch the application and open the Wireless Settings dialog box, in which you may freely arrange your network connection afterwards. Installation Note – Windows XP Windows XP has its built-in configuration tools – Windows XP Zero Configuration to assist you in networking activities, however, we recommend you to employ the attached software instead. Please proceed to following steps to disable the Windows Zero Configuration.    1.  Right-click the Network Connections icon at the task bar to open the  Wireless Network Connection Status dialog box, and then select Properties. 2.  Choose the Wireless Networks tab in the Wireless Network Connection Properties dialog box, and remove the tick from the Use Windows to configure
 13 my wireless network settings checkbox.   3.  Click OK to activate the settings and close the dialog box. 4.  Double click the  WLAN-G Configuration Tool tray icon to open the Wireless Settings dialog box. 5.  In the prompted  Wireless Settings dialog box,  you may freely monitor and configure the network via contained tabs. Verifying a Successful Installation                                To confirm that your 802.11 g WLAN USB Module is properly installed, please go along with the procedures below. 1.  Right-click My Computer desktop icon and choose Properties from the opened menu. 2.  In the  System Properties dialog box, click the  Hardware tab, and then choose the Device Manager button. 3.  In the opened window, expand Network adapters to find the USB Module –  WLAN-G Wireless LAN 802.11b/g Adapter. Right-click over the item and choose Properties. 4.  From the opened dialog box, on the General tab, find the descriptions under the Device Status pane to learn if the USB Module is working properly.  However, if there’s an error message shown, please choose Uninstall from the opened menu while right-clicking the USB Adapter item, to which a red or yellow icon is attached beside, in the Device Manager dialog box. Then restart your system and go through the installation procedures again.
