Installation, Removal Belt ClipInstallation: align the belt clip withthe plastic slots of the battery pack.Slide the belt clip onto the batterypack, pushing firmly until a clickheard.Removal: hold up the belt cliprelease tab with a fingernail or acoin (or like instrument). Whileholding up the release tab, slide the belt clip out andaway from the battery pack.2.  Installation, Removal Battery PackInstallation: turn off the transceiver. Hold the transceiverwith the back of the unit facing up.Place the battery pack against theback of the transceiver so that thetabs on the transceiver engage thefour openings in the battery pack.Slide the battery pack toward thetop of the transceiver until a clickheard.Removal: turn off the transceiver.Hold the radio with the back of the unit facing up. Withthe thumbnail of your other hand slide the latch leverdown. While holding the latch lever down, slide thebattery pack down toward the bottom of the transceiver.Separate the battery pack from the transceiver.3. Installation AntennaRotate the antenna clockwise untilit is seated firmly.*. Description Power on / off and Volume Control SwitchTurn the transceiver on by rotating power on / off andvolume control switch clockwise and control the volume. Channel Select ButtonSelect the desired channel with pressing Up and Downbutton, pressing and holding down more than 1 secondmakes the channel moving fast. And you can choose Onor Off in function mode. PTT(Push To Talk) ButtonHold down to transmit, release to receive. Function ButtonRefer to “OPERATION” page 7. Monitor ButtonPress to monitor. Operation1.  Power Turn on / off and Volume ControlRotate the Power on/off and Volume Control Switchclockwise to turn power on, then the LED lights orangeand power–up tone is generated after about on second,indicating the transceiver has passed the self–diagnostic.When you turn on the transceiver, it comes samechannel and function with your last using. Rotate thisswitch  clockwise to increase the volume orcounterclockwise to reduce the volume. Rotate itcounterclockwise fully to turn power off.2. TransmitChoose the channel by pressing Channel Select Buttonas you desire. Hold down the PTT Button and talk toMIC in 5~7Cm distance. The LED lights red ontransmitting. Release the PTT button  to stoptransmitting.3. ReceiveChoose the channel by pressing Channel Select Buttonas you desire. The LED lights green on receiving. Incase the signal doesn’t match in using sub–tone, greenlight blinks.4. MonitorPress the Monitor Button to monitor. Holding downMonitor Button over 2 seconds keeps monitoringfunction on, and press Monitor Button shortly or pressPTT Button to stop.5. ScanPress Channel Select Button ▲ while holding downFunction Button to start scanning forward increasingchannels.In case Priority Scan not settled down1) mem 1ch > mem 2ch > mem 3ch > …..In case 1 cannel of Priority Scan is settled down2) mem 1ch > pri ch > mem 2ch > pri ch > …..In case 2 cannels of Priority Scan are settled down3) mem 1ch > pri 1ch > pri 2ch > mem 2ch > ….. The transceiver stops scanning after detecting a signaland returns a receiving mode in the channel if the signalkeeps for 2 seconds. Or re-start scanning automatically.And if detecting a signal while scanning, but in case of nomatching sub-tone, re-starting scanning with a delayedPress Channel Select Button▲ to skip the channel. Andif you press Channel Select Button▼ when thetransceiver is receiving a signal in a channel whilescanning, the transceiver doesn’t scan the same channelin the next. And if you want to return the normal mode,press Channel Select Button ▲ while holding downFunction Button to finish scanning.When you press PTT Button while scanning, thetransceiver transmits in the channel which received asignal last while scanning or LCD shows when it’sturned on.6. Dual WatchThe transceiver detects the channel LCD shows as wellas another channel set as a dual watch channel upon“DW” mode.7.  Preference of Scan, Priority Scan & Dual WatchTurn on holding down Channel Select Button▼. Then,the LCD shows “SL-001”. And you can settle down whichchannel can be scanned or not by pressing FunctionButton in each channel while moving the channelsupward or downward with the Channel SelectButton▲▼. And press the PTT button to finish. Thenthe LCD shows “P1-000”. Then, you choose a channelwith the Channel Select Button▲▼. Then press thePTT button to finish. As well, “P2-000” by the abovesame way. If you choose “000”, it doesn’t work.The LCD will show “DW000” once registered “PriorityScan”. When you press Function Button once   sign on LCDblinks. (in case of being selected button lock function onblinks) Press Channel Select Button to select the beepsound on or off. Press PTT Button to finish selection.9.  Button Lock on / offWhen you press Function Button twice,    sign on LCDblinks. Press Channel Select Button to select the buttonlock on or off. Press PTT Button to finish selection. Thisfunction prevents from changing the channel byunintended pressing of Channel Select Button. PressFunction Button once,    sign on LCD blinks. Select offwith Channel Select Button, then press PTT Button toset off.10. DTMF PTT–ID on / offWhen you press Function Button three times, “dt” signon LCD blinks. Press Channel Select Button to selectDTMF PTT–ID on or off. Press PTT Button to finish.11. Transmit Output Power H / LWhile holding down PTT Button, press Channel SelectButton▲ to set high power (it shows ‘H’ on LCD) orpress Channel Select Button▼ to set low power (itshows ‘L’ on LCD.12. 2/5 Tone Decode (Selcall)During initial radio programming by the technician thisradio can be configured for several different types ofdecode operation. If a channel is selected that hasSelcall activated the radio will be muted until the propersignal is received. When this occurs the radio can sounda ringing type alert signal or a voice message maybeheard. Depending upon the initial programming, pressingthe PTT may cause an automatic identifier to be sent.When programmed for Selcall pressing the monitor andfunction buttons at the same time can cause the Selcallmode to be cancelled and generate an automaticidentification. Please have your radio technician ordispatcher fully explain this operation.Additional Function1. Time–Out Timer (TOT)It limits the amount of time you can continuously transmit ona channel from 0~100 seconds by a programmer. There willbe a short pre–alert warning tone 4 seconds prior to the endof the transmission. Then the transmission is terminated andthere will be a constant alert tone until you release the PTTButton.2. Busy Channel Lock–Out (BCLO)It prevents from transmitting if any activity is detected on thechannel. Programmer can do this feature.3. Power Saving ModeIf there is no transmitting and receiving for several time, thetransceiver takes the power saving mode automatically forsaving power.4. Low Battery AlertThe LED will blink red whenever pressed the PTT Button ifthe transceiver falls below a low voltage level. As well,whenever you release the PTT Button on low voltage level,there will be alert tone twice. Finally there will be alert tonethree times and “OFF” sign on LCD then the operation isterminated.5.  Clo ni ngYou can clone from the transceiver to another. Connect thetransceivers with the cloning cable. While pressing both oftwo Channel Select Button▲▼, turn the power on thetransceiver which want to be cloned (LCD shows ‘prog’ andindicate LED lights orange). While pressing the MonitorButton, turn the power on the original transceiver (LCDshows ‘clon’ and indicate LED lights orange). Press theMonitor Button of the original transceiver again to startcloning (LCD shows ‘–‘moving right side). After 15 secondsapproximately, the cloning finishes (the original transceiver’sLCD show ‘good’).
