- As for operating systems (OSs) requiring an installation driver:
Windows 98/SE users need only to install the driver once before using this product.

Windows 2000/ME/XP users do not require any installation driver. Whenever you connect this
product to the USB port, it will be identified as a portable drive (removable disk).

Precautions
For safety
We recommend you should AVOID:
1. Putting the MP3 player under direct sunlight or near heat (e.g. around a heater);
2. Putting metallic or flammable foreign substances into the MP3 player;
3. Disassembling or remodeling the MP3 player randomly;
4. Leaving the MP3 player in a damp/dusty/sooty place for long seconds (This may lead to
failure);
5. Spreading/pouring water directly on the MP3 player in clearing it;
6. Dropping the MP3 player or give a severe shock to it;
7. Putting the MP3 player around magnetic materials or on a vibrating site;
8. Putting the MP3 player on a site with high humidity and/or fluctuating temperature; and,
9. Pressing several buttons at a time or disassembling the MP3 player.
For headphone use
1. When you are driving a vehicle, including bicycle and motorbike, you need to take off your
headphone or earphone. If you wear it, this may cause physical/property damage and this
may be illegal in some states.
2. If you keep the volume high for hours, this may get you dizzy and/or deafened. In such a
case, please turn it down or stop playing for a while.

3. How to install an installation driver on Windows 98
*. On Windows ME/2000/XP, you don’t have to install this driver. Once connected, the MP3
player will be ready to work.

Before installing See “How to connect the MP3 player to the PC” for the connection to the
computer.
Insert the driver CD. Put the Installer CD into the CD-ROM drive.
* As Windows 98 or lower version cannot identify USB devices, you need to complete the driver
installation for the MP3 player.
Make an access to the installation file. With the CD inserted, double-click My Computer on the
screen. On the next screen, double-click the CD-ROM drive.
Install the driver (1). Double-click the “install” file icon.
Install the driver (2). The installation process gets started.

Install the driver (3). The driver file is installed and a folder named “alltec” is created in
the Program Files folder.
Install the driver (4). When connecting the USB port of the MP3 player to your PC, you
can see the following screen on the PC.
Install the driver (5). Select “Search an appropriate driver for the device” and click
“Next”.

4. How to connect the MP3 player to the PC
4-1. Connecting the MP3 player to the PC and the USB port

Connect the MP3 player to the PC. Connect the USB port seen at the right bottom of the
MP3 player to the USB ports of both the PC and the USB HUB.
z When the MP3 player is connected to the PC through the USB cable, the product will be
automatically charged.
z As for the USB port, you need to use a dedicated cable provided by Alltec Electronics only.
4-2. Connecting the MP3 player to the AC adapter (This device is optional and sold separately.)

Adapter If you bought this optional adapter, connect the USB jack of the adapter to the USB
port of the MP3 player as seen in the figure.

* Cautions When you connect the USB cable to the MP3 player, the “rectangle” figure of
the cable port should be seen on the top.
The “triangle” figure, on the other hand, should be placed on the bottom.
If you force the USB cable into the hole, this may cause product failure.
The connection is completed. When the installation gets finished, plug the AVIT MP3
player into the USB port (and double-click My Computer), and you can see the player identified
as a removable disk on My Computer.
If the removable disk icon is not made on My Computer, please visit our homepage
(www.avitmp3.com).
Check the connection status. The screen appears on the MP3 player when the USB
device is properly connected.

5. How to send a file from the PC to the MP3 player

Before transferring See “How to connect the MP3 player to the PC” for the connection to the
computer.
Check the removable disk. Double-click My Computer on Desktop to check the new
removable disk (storage). Double-click it to open the Explorer window.
Copy MP3 and common type files. Open a folder containing MP3 files in the computer and
select a file(s) to get the file sent to the removable disk.
* One folder can hold up to 999 files in it.
Cautions during data transfer If the edge of the blue MENU button (on the MP3 player)
shows blinking blue light, this means data is being sent. DO NOT disconnect the MP3 player
from the PC during the time. If so, the MP3 player may work abnormally, with the data lost.

Disconnect the MP3 player from the computer After the transfer, click the icon in right on
Desktop to see a message “Remove hardware”. Click on the message, and the MP3 player will
be safely removed from the PC.
As for Windows 98, when the file transfer is completed, the MP3 player will be disconnected
from the PC with no removal process.
The screen appears after the disconnection. When you unplug the USB cable after the file
transmission, the following screen will be displayed on the LCD display of the MP3 player.
The disconnection is completed. When the USB connection is released, the power will
automatically turn on, going into the initial screen of the STOP mode.
When you press the POWERON/OFF button, a file will be played.

6. How to turn the MP3 player on/off

Turn on the power. When you press the POWERON/OFF button quickly, the power will be on.
Turn off the power. When you press and hold the POWERON/OFF button for about three
seconds with the MP3 player on, the power will be off.

7. How to play a file

Before playing The screen initially appears when the power gets on.
Play (PLAY) When you press the POWERON/OFF button quickly, a song will be played.
When you press the button quickly again, this will make the MP3 player pause.
Select FF (next song) or REW (previous song) in STOP mode When you press the
POWERON/OFF button while playing, this will make the MP3 player pause.
When you press the MENU button as seen below, you can select either
the next song or the previous song.

Select FF (Fast forward) or REW (Fast rewind) in PLAY mode When you quickly roll the
MENU button up/down, you can select the next song or the previous song.
When you keep rolling the MENU button up/down as seen in the figure below with a song
played, the song will go either

* Depending on the bit rate type of a file, the initial proceeding time and the actual proceeding
time may differ from each other.
When there is no file to play When there is no file in the folder of the MP3 player, “NO FILE!”
message appears.

8. How to set up the equalizer

Select a MENU When you quickly press the MENU button in the STOP mode, you can see
the MENU mode.
* In the MENU mode, if there is no key input for a certain period, the mode will automatically
move to the previous mode.
Set the equalizer (To find an appropriate sound mode for optimized sound quality of an MP3 file).
When you roll the MENU button up in the MENU mode, you can select a menu you
want.
With one operation, you can select “equalizer”.
When the equalizer is lit, press the MENU button quickly to enter the EQUALIZER mode.
Select the equalizer (1). When you roll the MENU button up/down in the EQUALIZER mode,
you can select the mode you want.

Exit a menu/go to the Main menu. After you select an EQUALIZER mode, the menu will
automatically return to the Main menu.
When you press the ESC key, the Main menu will appear.

9. How to set repetition mode

Select a MENU When you quickly press the MENU button in STOP mode, you can see the
MENU mode.
Repetition setting (For setting file repetition) When you roll the MENU button up and down in
MENU mode, you can select a menu you want.
If you push the button up twice, you can select the Repetition Setting mode.
When the Repetition Setting icon is lit, press the MENU button quickly to enter the Repetition
Setting mode.
Standard mode This screen initially appears in the Repetition Setting mode.
By default, the MP3 player is set as the Standard mode. To select a mode, roll the MENU button
up and down until the desired mode is lit, and press the MENU button quickly.
When a mode is selected, the screen will automatically move to the Main menu.
1) Standard mode – All songs in a selected folder will be played once.

One song 2) Repetition mode for one song – The MP3 player will consecutively play
one selected song in a selected folder.
All 3) Repetition mode for all songs - The MP3 player will consecutively play all and every
song in it.
Bookmark 4) Bookmark mode - The MP3 player will consecutively play all of selected
songs in a selected folder.
* To use this mode, you need to have bookmarked songs. Without any, the screen will show a
message “There is no bookmarked songs”.
As for Bookmark, see page 32.

song in a selected folder.
Bookmark notes If you select a file other than bookmarked ones, the Bookmark mode will be
automatically disabled although you selected the Bookmark mode.
Set to Bookmark-> Select a file other than bookmarked ones -> Return to Standard mode
automatically
Exit a menu/go to the Main menu. After you select a mode, you can go back to the Main
menu by pressing the ESC key.

10. How to set Navigation mode

Select a MENU. When you quickly press the MENU button in the STOP mode, you can see
the MENU mode.
Set the Navigation mode (To promptly search/set/delete a song you want in a convenient way).
When you roll the MENU button up and down in MENU mode, you can select a menu
you want.
If you push the button up thrice times, you can select Navigation mode.
When the Navigation icon is lit, press the MENU button to enter the Navigation mode.
Select a Navigation file (To search/select an MP3 file). This screen initially appears in the
Navigation mode.
By default, the MP3 player is set as “Select an MP3 file”. To select a mode, roll the MENU
button up and down until a desired Navigation mode is lit, and press the MENU button.

Select a Navigation file. This screen initially appears in the file selection mode when you
press the MENU button.
From the top, you can see a folder name with the MP3 file names in the MP3 player listed below.
Select/change a Navigation file. When an MP3 file you want is lit, press the POWER
ON/OFF button to select a song.
After a file is selected, the screen will go back to the initial MP3 play screen with the selected
song played.
Select the next file. If you want a song in another folder, roll the MENU button up and down in
the file selection mode until a desired folder name is lit, and press the MENU button.
To go to the upper folder (ROOT), wait until the arrow icon is lit, and press the MENU button.

Shift to Bookmark mode (It helps you select a file(s) you want). This screen initially appears
in the Bookmark mode.
Press the MENU button to enter the Shift to Bookmark mode. Press the MENU button until a file
you want to select is lit, and press the MENU button. Then, the icon will turn to Bookmark icon
as seen in the figure, which means the file is bookmarked. If you do not want this setting, press
the MENU button again to get the Bookmark setting cleared.
* Bookmarked files may stay in different folders.
Folder deletion mode (It helps you delete an existing folder.) Roll the MENU button up
and down until the Folder deletion mode is lit, and press the MENU button to go into the mode.
When you are rolling the MENU button up and down until a desired folder is lit, press the MENU
button to go into that folder.
When a desired folder is lit, press the POWER ON/OFF button to delete the folder. However, all
the MP3 files in the folder are deleted while the folder itself is intact.
When all the files are deleted, the screen will automatically move to the Main menu.
* The MP3 player itself cannot delete a folder. If required, connect the MP3 player to the USB
port of a PC and go to “My Computer -> Removable disk” to delete/change the corresponding
folder.

Select File deletion mode (To delete some of existing files). Roll the MENU button up
and down until the File deletion mode is lit, and press the MENU button to go into the mode.
When you are rolling the MENU button up and down until a desired file is lit, press the POWER
button to delete the file.
Alternate YES/NO. -> Roll the MENU button up and down.
Select YES/NO. -> POWER ON/OFF button.
When you select an operation, the screen will automatically go to the Main menu.

11. FM radio

FM radio mode (This setting enables you to listen to FM radio broadcasting.) 1) In the
Navigation mode, roll the MENU button up and down until the FM radio menu is lit, and press
the MENU button to go to the FM radio mode.
2) In the initial MP3 screen, press and hold the MENU button for about three seconds to jump to
the FM radio mode.
Initial screen of radio mode This screen initially appears in the FM radio mode.
Tune the radio. Rolling the MENU button up and down, you can tune the radio to your
favorite station.

Store an FM channel (To automatically/manually save a frequency). In the initial screen,
press the MENU button to get channels automatically stored.
Alternate YES/NO. -> Roll the MENU button up and down.
Select YES/NO. -> Press the MENU button.
When you select “YES”, channels are automatically searched to sequentially go to the index.
Selecting “NO” makes the menu to turn to the next one. To go to the Main menu, press the ESC
button.
* This will make the display turn off with the button lamp blinking. This aims at better Rx
sensitivity.
Select Rx sensitivity (To set frequency sensitivity. In HIGH mode, the MP3 player can detect
frequency with higher sensitivity only, while other frequency may not be detected.) In the
automatic storing menu, press the MENU button to go to Rx sensitivity setting mode.
The options include: HIGH/MID/LOW. Select a desired mode by rolling the MENU button up and
down until the corresponding mode is lit. Then, press the MENU button.
After the setup, the screen will automatically show the next mode.
To go to the Main menu, press the ESC button.
Select FM band (To set frequency bandwidth). This screen initially appears in the FM band
(frequency bandwidth) setting. In the Rx sensitivity menu, press the MENU button to go to the
FM band setting mode, which helps setting of frequency band. You can choose band from either
USA or Japan. The selected band is displayed on the top of the LCD display. How to select one
is the same as that of the Main menu. After the setup, the screen will automatically go to the
next mode.
* USA: 87.5 ~ 108MHz (Same as South Korea)
Japan: 76 ~ 108MHz

Select sound setting (To set appropriate sound in listening to FM radio). This screen initially
appears in the sound setting mode. In the FM band menu, press the MENU button to go to the
sound setting mode.
The options include: STEREO and MONO types. The status is displayed on the top of the LCD
display. How to select one is the same as that of the Main menu. After the setup, the screen will
automatically go to the next mode.
* Although STEREO has been set, MONO will be seen if the Rx frequency is in MONO.
Store a channel manually (To manually search for frequency and save it). This screen initially
appears in the manual FM channel storing mode. Roll the MENU button up and down until a
channel you want is selected. Then, press the POWERON/OFF button to go to the manual
storing mode.
Rolling the MENU button up and down makes the channel to be saved with an index you want.
An index with a channel saved will be lit.
After the storing, the screen will automatically go to the next mode.

Store a channel automatically (To automatically search for frequency and save it). This
mode helps you automatically search for frequency to store a channel.
Select YES in the automatic channel storing mode in the FM menu.
Upon this, the MP3 player will search for frequency to sequentially store it to the index.
After the storing, the screen will automatically go to the Preset mode.
* Where, it is desirable to set the Rx sensitivity as LOW to store more frequency.
Preset mode (This setting helps you easily select frequency stored in the automatic/manual
mode.) With this, you can conveniently select a stored frequency as if it were a channel.
In the manual mode, press the REC button quickly to select the Preset mode.
Roll the MENU button up and down until a channel you want appears.

Record FM radio (To record FM broadcasting to turn it into an MP3 file). When you want to
record the FM broadcasting you are listening to, press the REC button for about three seconds
to get it recorded.
* In case available memory is not sufficient during the recording, a message “DISK FULL”
appears with the last file stored.
Pause recording FM radio. When you press the REC or POWER ON/OFF button for a split
second during the recording, the recording will pause.
If pressed again, the recording will go back on.
Store recorded FM radio contents to a file. After the recording, press the REC
button for about three seconds to automatically store the file to the FM folder and to go to the
Main menu.

Store recorded files consecutively. When you push the MENU button up during the FM
recording, the file “FM00001.MP3” will be stored, with the recording automatically continuing
with the file “FM00002.MP3”.
Check the proceeding time for FM radio recording (To check available recording time for FM
radio or ongoing recording time). When you quickly press the center button seen in the
MENU key, available recording time and/or ongoing recording time will be displayed on the top
of the LCD display.

12. Configuration mode

Configuration mode (This setting helps you check basic configurations of the MP3 player.)
In the MENU mode, roll the MENU button up and down so that you can select a menu
you want.
Pushing the button up four times, you can select the Configuration mode.
When the Configuration icon is lit, press the MENU button to go to the Configuration mode.
Initial screen of Configuration mode This screen initially appears in the Configuration mode.
Roll the MENU button up and down until a menu you want is lit. Then, select one by pressing
the MENU button.
Format all (To format all and every content in the MP3 player at a time). Roll the MENU
button up and down until a folder you want is lit. Then, select one by pressing the MENU button.
When you select YES, all the contents in the MP3 player will be formatted.
When you select NO, the screen will automatically go to the Main menu.
* When you want to format the MP3 player connected to the PC, change the formatting method
of the file system to FAT before formatting.

Check firmware version (To check the latest firmware version). When you press the MENU
button, you can see the firmware version in the menu.
To move to the Main menu, press the MENU button quickly or press the ESC button.
* Firmware version items

Memory capacity (This setting helps you check the current memory status of the MP3 player.)
With this, you can check the available memory capacity of the MP3 player.
When you press the MENU button quickly, the screen shows the memory usage in the menu.
Capacity: Total memory amount of the MP3 player
Usage: Memory amount in current use
Remaining amount: Available memory amount
To move to the Main menu, press the MENU button quickly or press the ESC button.

SLEEP setting (This setting turns off the MP3 player in a set period. It would be convenient for
you to use this setting at bedtime.) When you press the MENU button quickly, the screen
shows the menu.
Roll the MENU button up and down until a SLEEP time you want is lit. Then, select one by
pressing the MENU button quickly.
The options include: NO, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 120 minutes.
When you select one, the screen will automatically move to the Main menu.
Select recording (To select the recording method). With this, you can select a recording
method.
When you press the MENU button quickly, the screen shows the menu so that you can select a
mode.
Roll the MENU button up and down until a mode you want is lit. Then, select one by pressing
the MENU button quickly.
Voice: This setting enables you to record with the built-in mike of the MP3 player without the
help of any external devices.
Line-in: Contents are put from external devices through other media.
To move to the Main menu, press the MENU button quickly or press the ESC button.

Sound quality of mike (This setting helps you set the sound quality of mike in voice recording.
The larger the set figure is, the better the quality is.) With this, you can select the sound
quality of the mike.
When you press the MENU button quickly, the screen shows the menu.
Roll the MENU button up and down until a quality setting you want is lit. Then, select one by
pressing the MENU button quickly.
The options include: 8Kbps ~ 128Kbps.
When you select one, the screen will automatically move to the Main menu.
Sound quality of line-in (This setting helps you set the sound quality in line-in recording. The
larger the set figure is, the better the quality is.) With this, you can select the sound quality of
the line-in.
When you press the MENU button quickly, the screen shows the menu.
Roll the MENU button up and down until a quality setting you want is lit. Then, select one by
pressing the MENU button quickly.
The options include: 32Kbps ~ 160Kbps.
When you select one, the screen will automatically move to the Main menu.
Exit a menu. After you select a mode, you can go back to the Main menu by pressing the
ESC key quickly.

13. Screen setting mode

Screen setting mode (This setting helps you set the display of the MP3 player.) In the
MENU mode, you can roll the MENU button up and down until a menu you want is selected.
When you push the button up five times, the Screen setting mode is selected.
When the Screen setting icon is lit, press the MENU button quickly to go to the Screen setting
mode.
LCD ON time (This setting helps you set the time when the display is activated.) This
screen initially appears in the Screen setting mode.
Roll the MENU button up and down until a menu you want is lit. Then, select one by pressing
the MENU button quickly.
With this setting, you can set how long the LCD screen will be on.
Roll the MENU button up and down until a time setting you want is lit. Then, select one by
pressing the MENU button quickly.
The options include: 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, and 60 seconds.
When you select one, the screen will automatically move to the Main menu.

Language setting (This setting helps you set the language seen in the display of the MP3
player.) With this setting, you can select a language displayed in the LCD display.

Sound quality of mike With this, you can select the sound quality of the mike.
When you press the MENU button quickly, the screen shows the menu.
Roll the MENU button up and down until a quality setting you want is lit. Then, select one by
pressing the MENU button quickly.
The options include: 8Kbps ~ 128Kbps.
To exit the mode, press the ESC button.
When you select one, the screen will automatically move to the Main menu.

Alternate YES/NO -> Roll the MENU button up and down.

When you select an operation, the screen will automatically go to the previous mode for playing
next song.

17. How to charge the MP3 player

Before charging See “How to connect the MP3 player to the PC” for the connection to the
computer.
When the USB port is connected: Connect the MP3 player to the PC or the charge adapter.
The AC plug seen at the right top part is a battery charge lamp.
During the charge, the battery level display is moving up and down at the right top part.
When the charging is completed: After the charging, the AC plug icon seen at the right top
disappears with the battery level display seen filled up.
When the USB port is disconnected: If the edge of the blue MENU button (on the MP3 player)
shows blinking blue light, this means data is being sent. DO NOT disconnect the MP3 player
from the PC during the time. If so, the MP3 player may work abnormally, with the data lost.
Caution! Depending on the type of the main board in the PC, the battery may not be fully
charged and/or the charge icon may not disappear.
Charging time: About 3 - 3.5 hours (Based on discharged/unused state)
- Make sure to use the USB cable provided by Alltec Electronics only.

18. Troubleshooting
In case of any errors, please check the followings before contacting us.
1.I can’t turn on the MP3 player.
- Is it charged? Please get it charged.
- Is the HOLD button of the MP3 player pushed to ON? (If so, please push the button to OFF.)
- Push the RESET button with a pin (at the back part of the MP3 player).
2. The MP3 player remains mute or makes noises.
- Is the volume set to zero?
- Is the connection state of the earphone normal, or is the earphone port clear? (Foreign
substances on the port may bring about noises.)
- The earphone may be faulty.
- Damaged data can cause noises or broken sounds. Please check with another MP3 file.
- You may need to delete data or format the MP3 player connected to the PC.
- Please check: Our MP3 player can play any files in MP3 format only (Not available for Net
sync function).
3. I can’t download a file.
- Please check if the USB cable is connected tight between the PC and the MP3 player.
(How to check: Normal, if the display screen will show USB.)
4. The LCD screen of the MP3 player refuses to work.
- Please get the MP3 player charged or press the RESET button with a pin.
5. The MP3 player abruptly turns off while playing.
- Please reset the SLEEP TIME to OFF.
6. I can’t make a USB connection.
- Please see the FAQs in the customer support service in our homepage.
7. I can’t get radio frequency.
- Please set the Rx sensitivity to LOW.
