SERCH FUNCTION
Press FF or REW button enough when a file is
playing. Then, the previous or the next part in a
single file will be played.
1.Power On
Press STOP button () for some seconds. Then,
power is switched on and ‘POWER ON’ is indi-
cated on the LCD.

2.Listening to sample music
Press PLAY ( ) button, and you can listen to the stored

3.Volume control
Move down JOG Key for volume down, or
move up the key to volume up.
4.Stop / Power-off
Press STOP button (), and your player
stops playing. Press STOP button () for two
or more seconds while the player does not
play. Then, the power is switched off.

-If you do not press any buttons for one or more min-
utes while the player does not play, the power is auto-

You have to install of download program to your PC to download MP3 files from PC to your MP3 player.
1) Select a language on the first screen, and click on the xNEXTz button.
2) On the last screen, key in the TTS Program Key (20 digits) attached on the Install CD. Then, click on the [OK] button.
Please be careful not to lose Program Key since it is not duplicable. It may take more than 1 minute for installing TTS program
simultaneously.
You could not use this TTS function if you input the TTS CD-KEY incorrectly. (refer to next page)

Changing a file name (Rename)
If you want to change the file name, the mouse should point to the file which will be changed on the
memory window in the download program and click the [Name Change] by press the right button of
mouse. And then you type the changed name and hit [ENTER] Key.

TTS(Text To Speech) function
What is TTS (Text to Speech)?
You can convert a text file from an internet site or
general text into a MP3 file and can store the file to
the player for language study purpose.

Setting MODE
There are four executable modes of MP3 mode, VOICE mode, LINE mode and FM mode . The
files of internal/external memory can be deleted, and MPEG is changeable by the player function.
In MP3 MODE, you can control the sound(EQ) for your preference, and can use functions of REPEAT, SEC-
TION REPEAT AND PLAYING SPEED CONTROL for language study etc.

- While this button is placed in the ON position, you can not control any buttons.

Resume function
This function remember the last played position when the Power down or stop the playing, and play from
the remembered position when play again.
Setting/Cancel the Resume function
Press the STOP(■) button to set the Resume function when changing mode or power down in while
playing the file. Press the STOP(■) button again to cancel the Resume function.

LINE(ENCODING) MODE
You can record to MP3 files from other audio devices such as CDP, cassette deck without PC.
1. Connect to attached audio cable to LINE-IN.
2. Connect to LINE-OUT of other audio devices (EX: CDP). Please connect to earphone terminal if there is
no LINE-OUT terminal.

4. Press the REC button to start recording after playing the source music from other audio devices.

- Pressing JOG Key for two or more seconds, HAN-230UEF automatically searches for and detects FM
frequencies audible in the range of 87Mhz108Mhz;=~nd stores them up to 15 channels.

frequencies.
-In the places that frequencies are not automatically stored, 87.0MHz is designated to all the 15 channels of PRESET.
Pressing jog key one by one, you can set another frequency to your preset memory.

In some places, the JOG Key does not detect the automatically memorized frequencies.
In this case, use FF( ) or REW( )button to designate audible frequencies, and press the PLAY( ) button

When memory space is not enough to store files, delete the files stored in the memory. You can get more
space for storing. (You can delete both MP3 and TTS files)
-You can not recover the deleted files.

3.Press JOG Key, and ‘DELETED’ appears on the screen. Then, the file is deleted.
To delete another file additionally, select the file that you want to delete
by using JOG Key. Then, delete the file.
Be careful. You cannot recover the deleted file.
To turn back to the previous stage, press MODE button one by one.

both MPEG and Bitrate in this mode.

Press JOG Key to select the MPEG mode. You can control the JOG Key up and down to select MPEG1,

(Bitrate will be changed together with MPEG mode.)
Bitrate
Press JOG Key to select bitrate(128Kbps), and set the Bitrate mode with JOG Key.
This MP3 player is set the MPEG1, Bitrate 128Kbps in the factory.
Bitrate is higher hold memory space bigger.

3. Leave alone the USB cable connected to the USB
port of PC, and pull out the USB cable from the MP3
Player. Then, reboot the PC.
4. Connect the cable to the MP3 player after rebooting,
and the USB driver is automatically detected (Win98/
ME). As for WIn2000 or XP, you have to install the
USB driver by hand - refer to “Installations by hand”
on the page No. 36~38.

Installation of USB driver by hand(Win2000/XP)
1.When you have successfully installed the Download Program and connected the cable, the following figure appears on the
Windows Menu Bar.
2.Click on the ‘X’ of the message xNew hardware foundz, and the following figure appears on the
screen.
3.Click on [Next].
4.Select “Include the following location in search” and click on [Find]. Designate the folder that “AMAC
Install CD” or “amac.inf” file exists, and then click on [Open] and [Next] in sequence.
5.Select amac.inf in the list and click on [Next].
6.An error message can occur and you can click on [Continue] button during installation, but it does
not influence the OS.
7.When the program has completely installed, a message appears as shown in the following figure.
Then, click on [Exit] to complete the installation.
