4EASY STEPS TO OPERATE YOUR ANGELCARE®MONITOR
NURSERY UNIT (TRANSMITTER)
• Insert 4 AAA regular batteries (not included) into nursery unit
(for battery backup in case of power failure).
•Connect AC adapter to nursery unit and plug adapter into an
electrical outlet in the baby’s room.
•After both units are properly installed (step1 and 2), turn
them ON and then adjust microphone sensitivity level (if
necessary).

USING THE BATTERY MODE
•The monitor will revert to battery mode during a power
failure only if batteries are inserted in both units.
•Batteries in the nursery unit should be changed when the
green light flashes. The battery icon and the nursery icon
will also flash on the parents unit screen.
• Parents unit should be recharged when icon blinks and a
beep sound is heard. Note: Do not use Alkaline batteries in
the parents unit.
HOW TO USE YOUR MONITOR
•To be warned if your units are “out of range”, switch the In
Range Notification ON (optional).
• If reception is not clear, switch to another channel. (see
instructions for changing channel in the “ICON” section).
• To avoid feedback (whistling sound), keep both units at
least 3 meters apart (10 feet).

PARENTS UNIT (RECEIVER)
•Insert 4 AAA NIMH rechargeable batteries (included) into
parents unit.
•Connect AC adapter to parents unit charger and plug adapter
into an electrical outlet. Let charge for 15 continuous hours
before using the monitor for the first time.
•After both units are properly installed (step1 and 2), turn
them ON and then adjust the volume control to the desired
level.

ICON MEANING FUNCTION AND USE
PARENTS UNIT
Power Press and hold to turn ON or OFF.
Channel key (8 channels) Press to enter or exit the Channel Selection Mode.
Push the channel button on the parents unit. The “--” symbol will appear along
with the In Range icon which will flash. Press the channel selector (top button)
on the nursery unit until the night light halo fashes. Select the channel by gently
pushing on the top button on the nursery unit (you will see the channel
changing on the parents unit). Once the channel is selected, press and hold the
nursery unit top button to confirm selection (halo will stop flashing).
Both units are always on the same channel.
If the interference persists, consult the Troubleshooting section.
Temporary mute key Press to mute the speaker. parents unit will not receive sound for 2 minutes.
Press again to reactivate the sound before the 2 minutes are up, if desired.

sound volume Increases or decreases volume on the parents unit
PARENTS UNIT’S SCREEN DISPLAY
Nurseryunit This icon will appear and the lowbattery icon will flash on the screen to inform
you thatthe batteries are lowin the nurseryunit.
Parents unit This icon will be ON only during Channel Selection Mode.
Sound This icon indicates thatthe sound transmission is activated. It will flash when
in TemporaryMute Mode.
Battery level When the icon is completely dark, the batteries are fully charged. When it is
clear, the batteries are lowand the parents unit needs to be placed on the
charger. When the batteries are TOO LOW, a “beep” will be heard every 15
seconds . The low battery icon will flash for 30 minutes before the unit shuts
itself OFF.
Sound level indicator Displays the sound level on the parents unit. There are 5 sound levels. Once
you've chosen the desired level with the Up and Down keys, the bars will disap-
pear and will start moving according to the sound transmitted by the nursery unit.
The sound level indicator bars allow you to see the level of sound in your baby’s
room. The louder the sounds from baby, the more bars appear.
Channel and Baby’s room
temperature display When turning ON the parents unit then the nursery unit, the channel number
will be displayed on the parents unit screen for about one minute. It will then
be replaced by the nurseryroom temperature display (in Celsius).
Note: If the nurseryunit is ON before the parents unit, or if the Parent Unit is OFF
and then turned ON while nurseryunit is ON, the temperature display will
indicate the channel number until there is a change of temperature.
In Range icon 1) This icon will start flashing on the parents unit when the distance between the
units is over the maximum range. A beep will also be heard. To activate this
function, slide the right wing switch up. This option informs you when the dis-
tance between the nurseryunit and the parents unit is over the maximum range
of transmission. To deactivate the In Range function, slide the right wing down.
NOTE: Range: up to 250 meters/ 820 ft (open field); between 80 meters/ 262 ft and
100 meters/328 ft (indoors).

when in channel selection mode.

Increases and decreases the voice activation sensitivity.
Your Angelcare® monitor is equipped with a voice-activated system. The
nursery unit will be activated and transmit sounds to the parents unit only when
it captures sounds. The sensitivity dial allows controlling the level of sound
picked up and transmitted by the nursery unit.
Note: If the microphone sensitivity level on the nurseryunit is set to maximum
(completely to the right), the unit will revert to continuous sound reception
instead of voice activated mode.

Slide switch Up to be notified when the nursery unit signal does not
reach the parents unit. (See the “In Range” icon section.).

1) When the power is ON and the left wing button at the “-” position, the
green light will appear.
2) If the back-up batteries are low, the green light will flash.
Note :The green light will flash for 45 minutes before unit shuts itself OFF.
Testing Your Angelcare®Monitor
Note: Test your Angelcare®Monitor BEFORE first-time use
and then periodically.
Step 1. Have someone else speak into the nurseryunit or place
aradio near nurseryunit. You should hear sound from the parents
unit. If there is no sound, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
If reception is not clear, switch to another channel (see
channel key in the Icon section).
Step 2.
Verify that the battery mode is functional by operating the
nurseryunit without the AC adaptors. The green Power light should
appear on the Nursery unit and the digital screen should light up on
the parents unit.
Parents unit: When the LowBatteryindicator icon is almost
clear, place the unit on the charger.
Nursery unit: When the green Low Battery indicator light flashes
replace batteries promptly. Otherwise, the device will shut down.
Warnings
•This product is NOT asubstitute for direct supervision of your
baby. Check your baby’s activities at regular intervals.
Monitoring of premature babies, or those considered to be at
risk, should be carried out only under the supervision of a
doctor or health professional.
•Make sure you DON'T put the parents unit near wireless
devices and microwave ovens. This may disrupt the
transmission.
•ALWAYS place both units on a flatsurface in an upright
position, away from baby’sreach.
• Make sure to plug the adapter to the socket outlet nearest to
the equipment and thatis easily accessible.
•DO NOT touch the end of the adapter cord when plugged into
an electrical outlet.
• The Angelcare®Monitor uses public airwaves to transmit
signals. The parents unit may pick up signals or interference
from other nurserymonitors in your area. Your monitor may
even be picked up by other households. To protect your privacy,
make sure both units are turned OFF when not in use.
•This product should be serviced by qualified personnel. There
are no user serviceable parts inside the monitor. Refer all
service questions to your distributor (see page 14).
Care of you Angelcare®Monitor
RETAIN INSTRUCTIONS: Keep the user’s manual for future
reference.
WATER, MOISTURE AND HEAT DAMAGE: Keep all components
away from water (sink, bath tub, swimming pool) and places that
emit heat (stove, radiator).
VENTILATION: ALWAYS place both units on a flat surface in an
upright position so that air can flow freely around them.

Static, distortion, interference
(interference from other monitors,
wireless phones, walkie-talkies,
etc…).
• Parents unit is out of range.
• Parents unit is located near motorized devices, fluores-
cent lights, television, etc…
•Bring units closer together.
•Activate the out of range indicator on the nursery unit (left
wing up).
• Rotate parents unit or move it away from source of
interference.
Feedback (loud noises emitted from
parents unit).
• Units are too close to each other.
• Volume is too high on the parents unit.
•Move units farther apart (at least 3 meters/10 feet apart).
•Decrease volume on parents unit.
Very weak reception. •Units are too far apart (out of range indicator will flash and
beep on the parents unit).
• One or both units are placed near a large metal mass.
• One or both units are not in the upright position.
•Batteries are low.
•Bring units closer together.
•Change the position of one or both units.
• Place units on flatsurface away from baby’s reach.
•Replace the batteries in the nurseryunit or recharge the
parents unit.
TROUBLESHOOTING
AC POWER SOURCE: Use only the AC adaptors supplied with the
Angelcare®Monitor.
CORD PROTECTION : Avoid damage to the adapter cords. Route
cords so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by
items placed on or against them.
CLEANING: Disconnect all units before cleaning. DO NOT
immerse in water. Use a dry cloth to keep monitor free from dust.
DO NOT spray with cleaning products or solvents. Wipe with a
very slightly damp cloth with an antiseptic or mild detergent.
OBJECT AND LIQUID ENTRY: Care should be taken so that
objects do not fall onto units and that liquids are not spilled into
either unit through openings.
NON-USE PERIODS: When not using the monitor for a short
period, make sure to turn the units OFF before disconnecting
them, otherwise the units will revert to the battery mode. When
not using monitor for long periods, remove the batteries from
both units and disconnect the AC adapters from electrical outlet.
Night light does not light. •Night light is not turned ON
•Night light LED is burned •Press on the top clear button on the nursery unit

LIMITED WARRANTY
Angelcare®warrants to the original owner of this product that the Angelcare®Rechargeable Sound Monitor (Model AC420) is free from
material and workmanship defects for a period of one (1) year from the date of the original purchase. If this monitoring system fails to
function properly when used as directed under normal conditions within the one year period, Angelcare®will either repair or replace
the product, at our discretion, free of charge. Please contact your distributor (see page 14).
The product must be accompanied by a proof of purchase, either a bill of sale or other proof that the monitoring system is within the warranty
period. Angelcare®will bear the cost of repairing or replacing the product and shipping it back to you.
This warranty does not apply to a product which has been damaged as a result of improper maintenance, accidents, improper voltage
supply or other misuse. The warranty is also void if the owner repairs or modifies the product in any way. Angelcare®is not liable for
any incidental or consequential damages with regard to this product. The warranty also excludes any liability other than what is
stated above. No other warranties are given.

UNITÉ DES PARENTS (RÉCEPTEUR)
•Insérer quatre piles rechargeables NiMh AAA dans l’unité du
nourrisson (incluses).
•Recharger les piles en raccordant le cordon de l’adaptateur
au chargeur et en branchant l’adaptateur dans une prise de
courant. Laisser charger l'unité des parents pour 15 heures
avant la première utilisation.
• Ajuster le volume au niveau désiré.
UNITÉ DU NOURRISSON (ÉMETTEUR)
• Insérer quatre piles ordinaires AAA dans l’unité du
nourrisson, en cas de panne de courant (non incluses).
•Raccorder l’adaptateur à l’unité du nourrisson, puis
brancher l’adaptateur à une prise de courant dans la
chambre du bébé.
• Ajuster la sensibilité du micro (si nécessaire).

UTILISATION À PILES
• Lors d’une panne de courant, les unités branchés au mur
passeront en mode d’alimentation par piles uniquement si
des piles sont insérées dans les deux unités.
•Remplacez les piles de l’unités du nourrison lorsque sa
lumière verte clignote. De plus, le témoin de piles faibles sur
l’écran de l’unité des parents clignotera en même temps que
l’icône de l’unité du nourisson.
•Placer l’unité des parents sur le chargeur lorsque le témoin
de piles faibles clignote, et que le timbre sonore se fait
entendre. Note : ne pas utiliser de piles alcalines dans l’unité
des parents.
COMMENT UTILISER VOTRE MONITEUR
• Mettre les deux unités sous tension.
• Mettre la fonction de détection de portée en marche.
• Si la réception n’est pas claire, changer de canal. (Voir les
instructions pour le changement de canal dans la section
«ICÔNES»).
•Pour éviter les sifflements et bruits parasites, laisser au
moins 3 mètres (10 pieds) entre les unités.

Mise en marche Appuyer et tenir enfoncé pour allumer ou éteindre l’unité.
Sélecteur de canal Appuyer pour sélectionner le mode «changement de canal».
Appuyer sur le bouton CH sur l'unité des parents. Le symbole «--»
apparaîtra avec le symbole de détection de portée qui clignote. Presser le
bouton du haut de l’unité du nourrisson jusqu'à ce que l'auréole clignote.
Appuyer de nouveau pour sélectionner le canal (vous verrez alors le
numéro de canal changer sur l'unité des parents). Lorsque vous avez
choisi le canal, appuyer sur le bouton du haut de l’unité du nourrisson et
tenir enfoncé jusqu'à ce que l'auréole arrête de clignoter. Les deux unités
seront toujours sur le même canal.
Si l'interférence persiste, veuillez consulter le tableau de diagnostics des
pannes.
Sourdine temporaire Appuyer pour mettre le haut parleur en sourdine. L'unité des parents ne
transmettra pas de son durant 2 minutes. Appuyer à nouveau pour réac-
tiver le son avant que les 2 minutes ne soient écoulées, si désiré.
Volume
(Augmenter-diminuer) Pour augmenter ou diminuer le volume du son de l’unité des parents.
AFFICHAGE NUMÉRIQUE DE L’UNITÉ DES PARENTS
Unité du nourisson Cette icône clignotera en même temps que le symbole de piles faibles,
pour vous indiquer que les piles sont faibles dans l'unité du nourrisson.
Unité des parents Cette icône s’affichera seulement lorsque l’appareil est en mode de
sélection de canal.
Niveau d’intensité
des piles
L’icône est entièrement noir quand les piles sont chargées. Lorsque
l’icône est transparent, les piles sont faibles et l'unité des parents doit
être placée sur le chargeur. Lorsque les piles sont très faibles, ce sym-
bole clignotera et un signal sonore sera entendu toutes les 15 secondes.
Le symbole clignotera pour 30 minutes avant que l’unité ne s’éteigne.
Indicateur de niveau de son Affichage du niveau sonore sur l'unité des parents. Il y a 5 niveaux
sonores. Une fois le volume choisi en utilisant les touches de contrôle du
volume vers le haut ou vers le bas, les barres disparaîtront et com-
menceront à bouger selon le son transmis par l'unité du nourrisson. Les
barres permettent de voir l'intensité du niveau sonore dans la chambre du
bébé. Plus le son est fort, plus de barres apparaissent.
Affichage du numéro de
canal et de la température de
la chambre du bébé
Allumer en premier lieu l'unité des parents et puis l'unité du nourrisson,
le numéro du canal s’affichera pendant environ 1 minute. Il sera ensuite
remplacé par la température ambiante de la chambre du bébé (en degrés
Celsius).
Note : Si l'unité du nourrisson est allumée avant l'unité des parents, ou si
cette dernière est allumée et puis éteinte alors que l'unité du nourrisson
reste allumée, la température peut prendre jusqu'à 5 minutes avant de
s'afficher.
Son Cette icône indique que le son est activé. Il clignotera lorsque la fonction
«sourdine temporaire» est sélectionnée.

Augmente ou diminue la sensibilité du micro pour l'activation par la voix.
Ce moniteur est muni d’un système d’activation par la voix. L’unité du nourris-
son s’activera et transmettra à l’unité des parents uniquement lorsqu’elle
captera des sons. Note : Si la sensibilité du micro est ajustée à son maximum
(complètement vers la droite), l'unité transmettra du son en continu au lieu
d'être activée par la voix.

Détecteur de portée 1) Ce symbole clignotera quand la distance entre les unités dépasse la
portée de transmission. Un son sera aussi émis.
Votre moniteur Angelcare® est muni d’un indicateur de dépassement de
portée. Pour activer cette fonction, glisser l’aile droite vers le haut. Cela vous
informera si la distance entre les deux unités est trop grande pour permettre
la réception. Si tel est le cas, l’icône de détection de portée clignotera et un
son se fera entendre, jusqu’à ce que la distance soit ajustée. Si vous ne
désirez pas cette option, glisser l’aile vers le bas.
Portée : jusqu’à 250 mètres/ 820 pieds (aires ouvertes) et entre 80 et 100
mètres (262 à 328 pieds) à l’intérieur d’un bâtiment.
2) Il clignotera également avec le numéro de canal sur l'écran de l’unité
des parents lorsque le mode "changement de canal" est sélectionné.
Vérification de votre moniteur Angelcare®
Note : Faites l’essai de votre moniteur Angelcare® AVANT de
l’utiliser pour la première fois et périodiquement pour vous
assurer qu’il fonctionne bien.
Étape 1. Demandez à quelqu’un de parler dans le microphone de
l’unité du nourrisson ou utilisez une radio comme source de son.
Assurez-vous que l’unité des parents reçoit le son. Si l’unité des
parents ne reçoit aucun son, consultez la rubrique Diagnostic de
pannes.
Si la réception n’est pas claire, changez de canal (voir «sélecteur
de canal» dans la section Icônes)
Étape 2.
Vérifiez le fonctionnement des piles en utilisant les deux
unités sans les adaptateurs. Le témoin vert sur l'unité du nourrisson
et l'écran numérique sur l'unité des parents devraient s’allumer.
Unité des parents : Lorsque le témoin de piles faibles est
presque transparent ou qu’il commence à clignoter, placez
immédiatement l'unité sur le chargeur.
Note : Le témoin de faible intensité des piles clignotera pendant
45 minutes avant que l’unité ne s’éteigne par elle-même.
Unité du nourrisson : Remplacez les piles de l’unités du
nourrison lorsque sa lumière verte clignote. De plus, le témoin de
piles faibles sur l’écran de l’unité des parents clignotera en
même temps que l’icône de l’unité du nourisson.
Mises en garde
• Ce produit ne remplace PAS la surveillance directe de votre
bébé. Vous devez surveiller votre bébé à intervalles réguliers.
La surveillance des bébés prématurés ou des bébés considérés
comme étant à risque ne doit se faire que sous la direction de

(interférences d'autres moniteurs,
téléphones sans fil, walkies talkies,
etc.).
•L’unité des parents est hors de portée.
•Le récepteur est à proximité d’appareils motorisés, de
néons, d’une télévision, etc.
•Rapprocher les unités l’une de l’autre.
• Activer la fonction de dépassement de portée sur l’unité
du nourrisson (l’aile gauche vers le haut).
•Pivoter l’unité des parents ou l’éloigner de la
source des interférences.
Sifflements (sons émis par l’unité
des parents).
•Les unités sont placées trop près l’une de l’autre.
•Le volume de l’unité des parents est trop élevé.

(Distance d’au moins 3 mètres / 10').

DIAGNOSTIC DE PANNES
votre médecin ou d'un professionnel de la santé.
•Assurez-vous de ne pas placer l'unité des parents près d’un
appareil sans fil et d’un four micro-ondes. Ceux-ci peuvent
interférer avec la transmission du signal.
•Placez TOUJOURS les deux unités en position verticale, sur une
surface plate hors de la portée du bébé.
•NE PAS toucher l’extrémité du cordon de l’adaptateur lorsque
celui-ci est branché dans une prise de courant.
• Le moniteur Angelcare® utilise les ondes publiques pour
transmettre des signaux. Il est possible que le récepteur capte
des signaux ou des interférences provenant d’autres moniteurs
pour nourrisson installés à proximité. Dans certaines
circonstances, il se peut que d’autres foyers utilisant le même
appareil captent les transmissions de votre émetteur. Afin de
protéger votre intimité, assurez-vous de mettre les unités hors
tension lorsque vous ne les utilisez pas.
• Ce produit devrait être réparé par un personnel qualifié. Ce
dispositif ne contient aucune pièce réparable par l’utilisateur.

Entretien de votre Moniteur Angelcare®
CONSERVER LES INSTRUCTIONS : Veuillez conserver ce guide de
l’utilisateur pour consultation ultérieure.
DÉGÂTS CAUSÉS PAR L’EAU, L’HUMIDITÉ ET LA CHALEUR : Gardez les
composantes loin des sources d’eau et d’humidité (évier, baignoire,
piscine) et des sources de chaleur comme les radiateurs et les
cuisinières.
AÉRATION : Placez TOUJOURS les deux unités en position verticale sur
une surface plate de manière à ne pas empêcher la circulation de l’air.
SOURCE DE COURANT : Utilisez SEULEMENT les adaptateurs fournis
avec le moniteur Angelcare®.
PROTECTION DU CORDON D’ALIMENTATION : Évitez d’endommager le
cordon des adaptateurs. Faites passer les cordons là où personne ne peut
marcher dessus et où ils ne peuvent être coincés ou écrasés par un objet.
NETTOYAGE : Débranchez toutes les composantes avant de les nettoyer.
N’IMMERGEZ PAS sous l’eau.Essuyez la poussière avec un linge de coton sec.
NE VAPORISEZ PAS de produits de nettoyage ou de solvants.
INSERTION D’OBJETS OU INFILTRATION DE LIQUIDES : Une attention
particulière doit être portée à ce qu’aucun objet ne tombe sur les unités, ou
qu’aucun liquide ne s’infiltre à travers les ouvertures.
LORSQUE NON-UTILISÉ : Lorsque vous n’utilisez pas votre moniteur
pendant de longues périodes de temps, enlevez les piles des deux
unités et débranchez les adaptateurs de la prise de courant.
La veilleuse ne s’allume pas.

•Le LED est brûlé.
• Appuyez sur le premier bouton transparent sur
l’unité du nourrisson pour allumer la veilleuse.
