Display Stand
Replacement Instructions

Follow the instructions in this sheet carefully. Failure to follow these instructions could
damage your equipment and void warranty coverage.
Note: Online instructions are available at http://www.info.apple.com/installparts/.
Warning: During this procedure, keep small parts away from children.

Tools Required
This procedure requires the following tools:
• soft cloth (blanket or towel)
• 3 mm hex driver
Warning: Never turn on a display unless all of its parts are in place as originally
assembled. Operating the display with missing parts can damage the display and
cause injury.

Removing the Display Stand
Important: Before you begin,
• remove all jewelry from your hands and wrists to avoid scratching the display
• wash your hands to prevent fingerprints or permanent marks on the display
Warning: Turn off your display and disconnect the cable.
Warning: Use correct lifting techniques when positioning the display. When lifting
or carrying the display, grasp the edges. Do not lift the display by the stand or the
cable.
1. To protect the display from scratches, use a thick, soft, clean cloth (such as a folded
blanket or towel) as a cushion. Place your display face down on the cloth so the stand
is in front of you.

2. Copy the serial number from the old stand to the blank serial number label. Affix the
label to the same area on the replacement stand.

3. Remove the two screws at each end of the display stand hinge.

4. With the screws removed, grasp the stand, and pull it off of the mounting bracket.
Note: If the stand is difficult to remove, use one hand to hold down the display while
using the other hand to pull off the stand.

5. Route the display cable through the opening in the stand.

Installing the Replacement Display Stand
1. Route the display cable through the opening in the replacement stand.
2. Place the replacement stand on the mounting bracket.
3. Install the screws.
4. Place the display upright.
5. Check the operation of the stand. The display panel should tilt up and down smoothly.
Warning: Never turn on a display unless all of its parts are in place as originally
assembled. Operating the display with missing parts can damage the display
and cause injury.
