QuestionThe technical specificationsshow an operating range of 300 meters / 900 feet outdoors. How come my baby monitormanages much less than that? The link is lost every now andthen, sound interruptions etc. What happens during a mainsfailure? Is my DECT baby monitorsecure from eavesdropping andinterference? Some buttons do not seem towork when I press them. What do I do wrong?I place the parent unit in thecharging base (B-15) but the unitdoesn’t function.Operating time of the parentunit batteries is supposed to beat least 8 hours. How come thebattery operating time of myparent unit is less?Frequently asked questions21AnswerThe specified range is only valid outdoors in open air. Insideyour house the workable range is limited by the amount andtype of walls and/or ceilings in between. Inside the house theoperating range will be up to 50 meters / 150 feet. You are probably approaching the outer limits of the practicalrange.Try a different location or decrease the distancebetween the units slightly. Please note that it takes about 30seconds each time before a new link between the units isestablished. When batteries are installed in the both units, the units willautomatically switch over to battery use in case of mainsfailure. The 60 channels guarantee no interference from otherequipment.Except for the On/Off buttons (A-1, B-6), only press thebuttons shortly. When the batteries of the parent unit are low, you have towait for up to 20 minutes after placing the unit in the chargerbefore the unit starts functioning.Maybe the baby unit is transmitting too much. Operation timewill be 8 hours only when the baby unit is transmitting 25% ofthe time and is in standby mode for the rest of the time (babydoes not make sound). When the parent unit batteries are charged for the first time, operating time will be less than 8 hours. The batteries will usetheir maximum capacity after at least four times charging anddischarging.Maybe the volume setting too high. When the volume is set toa high level, the units consumes more power. Set the volume toa lower level (B-10).EN
