1 FOREWORD
The RFID Staff Card is a device designed to be allocated to nurses in the area monitored by the AMS
system. The tag contains both a passive RFID circuit as well as an active transmission circuit, allowing the
system to capture when and which staff responded to a nurse call event.
2 PRODUCT MANUAL
2.1 Tracking Tag
The SC will have 3 main stages:
Deactivated mode
Reset (Standby) Mode
Active Mode
2.1.1 Deactivated mode
When deactivated, the SC shall not send any sanity transmissions nor shall it monitor motion. The SC shall leave
the factory in this mode.
Active/Rest Deactivated
Press and hold down the SC's button for 5 seconds; at the end of the 5 seconds, the LED shall be lit
(steady LED) for 5 seconds.
While the LED is lit, press the button three times; the LED flashes for 3 seconds to indicate that the SC is
about to shut down.
OR
After 12 hours without motion, the SC shall automatically deactivate.
Note: Before the SC is deactivated, it shall send a transmission to the AMS to indicate that it has been
manually deactivated (as opposed to destroyed or lost).
2.1.2 Reset (Standby) Mode
In Rest mode, the SC shall transmit once every 15 minutes for a period of 1 hour. After 1 hour, the SC shall
transmit once every hour.
Deactivated Rest Mode:
Press and hold down the button for 5 seconds
Active Rest Mode
No motion detected by the SC for 2 minutes.
2.1.3 Active Mode
During Active mode, the device shall transmit a signal once every 18 – 22 seconds.
Rest Active Mode
Motion is detected by the SC.
