1. Foreword
The HomeFree at Care Centers system was designed to monitor
special needs and Dementia individuals in the care center
environment. The Universal Transmitter is one of the many unique
elements of this system.
1.1. The UTX-830 is a small frame-head device, to be installed at
internal or external doors of nursing homes and assisted leaving
homes. The device is combined with a magnet on the door to
detect door open / close status. When the door is open, the
device shall transmit panic messages once every 18-22 seconds
(random interval within this range), until closed door is
detected. It will be possible to turn the UTX830 on and off by
pulling out the battery (for saving battery life and for aviation
safety while shipped). While UTX-830 is ON, it shall transmit
a status message, once every hour, to indicate that it is still
functioning and to report its battery level.
1.2. The UTX-830 is a stand-alone unit. It can be battery operated or
externally powered by a dedicated AC adaptor; it has RF
transmitter module, a microcontroller, which controls the UTX-
830 operation, one PCB, and a door magnet.
1.3. The UTX-830 has one RF channel. It is 318 MHz carrier with
FSK modulated data.

battery into the battery case, and/or plug in the power supply to the
correct jack.
Once the Universal Transmitter is working, it sends a status message
to the monitoring station. The monitoring station then indicates the
current battery status. This status message is sent until the Universal
Transmitter is deactivated.
1.2.
Activating a Panic Alert:
The UTX-830 sends a panic transition alert message to the monitoring
station in the following way, activate the reed switch (Normally open /
Close).
Once in panic alert mode, the Universal Transmitter sends a panic alert
message to the monitoring station. This message is sent until the panic
alert is deactivated.
1.3.
Deactivating a Panic Alert:
Change the status of the monitoring device from Normally Open to
normally close and vice versa.
Even though the panic alert has been deactivated, the Universal
Transmitter is still working. Therefore, the Universal Transmitter still
sends a status message to the monitoring station. This status message
is sent until the Universal Transmitter is deactivated.
1.4.
