familiarise you with the product’s many features and to ensure

3. Driver and Software Installation
3.1 Driver Installation
Step 1: Insert the CD supplied. From the pop up menu click “Driver
Install” . If the menu does not appear run: VGB100 .exe f rom
the CD.
Note: Do not use this mini disc on a slot loading CD drive!
The driver and software can be downloaded at:
www.augustint.com/download.htm.

1.1 Overview
The VGB100 video capture stick creates digital videos on
your Hard Drive. With S-Video and RGB In, you can
capture and edit footage from your camcorder, VCR, DVD
player and other video devices. The enclosed software can
convert the recorded file to MPEG1, MPEG2, AVI, WMV,
ASF, MP4 and QTMOV in 720x576 pixels.

Step 2: Click “Install”.

Step 3: Click “OK”.

Step 4: Plug the device into a USB 2.0 port and connect your video
source via AV or S-Video cable.
Step 5: After successful installation you will find “USB2.0 Audio
Capture” and “USB2.0 Video Capture” in: “System->
Hardware->Device Manager” . If they have not appeared,
please restart installation.

3.2 Software Installation

Step 3: Click “Yes” to accept the license agreement.

Step 1: Click “Software Install”.

Step 4: Choose a User Name and enter your License Key from the CD case.
Note: Please keep the License Key for future use as we will not be able to
replace any lost License Keys.

Step 2: Click “Next”.

Step 5: Click “Next” to continue or “Browse” to choose a destination
folder.

Step 7: Please wait whilst ShowBiz installs.

Step 8: Click “Finish” to complete the installation.
Step 6: Click “Next” after choosing destination folder.

Step 9: The Acrsoft ShowBiz icon will now be on your desktop.

Step 4 : Set the Aspect Ratio to “4:3” or “16:9”.

Step 5 : Use “Device Settings” to select the matched video format.
1. Capture Module
Step 1: Set source to “Capture Device”.

Step 6 : Choose Saved format and Save to destination.

Step 2: If you are using the 3-phono cable, set Video input to
“Composite Video”. Or set it to “S-Video” if you are using
S-Video cable.
Step 3: Set Audio device to “Audio Pin Source”.
Note: If you get a error message “The device is not available, or being
used by another application. Please close any applications
that may be using the device and try again”, please click OK
to close this error window. Set Audio device to “Audio Pin Source”.
Then set the Source to “Capture Device”

Note : The available Saved formats may varies as they are dependent
on the Decoder Library of the computer. But this software is able
to convert the captured video to different formats. Please refer
to 2. Produce Module on Page 12.

Step 2: Select the desired video file and drag it to the Storyboard.

Step 7 : Click “Capture” to start recording and “Stop” to stop.

Step 3: Enter Produce module and click “Create File”.

2. Produce Module
ShowBiz allows you to convert the format of a video file.
Step 1: In “Edit” module, click “Open” icon to open the folder where
the desired video file saved.

Step 4: Set Format to a desired format. Set Quality/Speed to High
Quality, Standard or Low Quality. In Settings, more options can
be set.
Step 5: Set the “Save to” to the desired destination folder.
Step 6: Click “Start” to start the convert.

5. Troubleshooting

5.5. I can only capture the video in mpeg2 format/I cannot select
any other formats.

5.1. Device Not Available.

The available saved formats depend on the decoding library on the computer.
The software allows you to convert a video file to another format. Please
follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Set source to “Capture Device”.

Click "OK" to close the error window. Change "Audio device" to
Audio Pin Source. If the “Source” changes to empty, reselect
Capture Device as Source.
5.2. I cannot get any picture or sound.
Plug the VGB100 directly into a USB port and not a USB hub.
Click “Device Settings” and select the video standard which
matches your source device.
If you are using a SCART adaptor, check that it is bi-directional,
it will have an IN/OUT switch that must be set to out.
5.3. I cannot find my licence key to install the Software.
The software licence key is printed on the back of the CD case,
unfortunately we are not able to replace these.

Step 2: Drag the video file to the Storyboard. (Step 2 on p13)
Step 3: Select the “Produce” tab and click “Create File”. (Step 3 on p13)

5.4. “Capture Device” does not appear in Source options.

Please follow the steps below to re-install the driver for
VGB100 manually.
Enter Device Manager from the Control Panel.
Expand “Sound, video and game controllers”. If the devices
“USB2.0 Video Capture” or “USB2.0 Audio Capture” appear with a
warning triangle, right click on these devices and select "Uninstall",
check the box "delete the driver software....", then click OK.
Click "Action" from the tool bar on the top of Device Manager
window, select "Scan for hardware changes".
Two “Video Capture” devices with a yellow mark should appear
in Device Manager. Right click these devices, select "Update
driver software".
Click "Browse my computer for driver software".
Browse to "Driver" folder on the CD or downloaded and unzipped
driver folder.
Click "Next".

Step 4: Choose your desired file format and adjust settings to suit.
Step 5: Set the “Save to” to the desired destination folder.
Step 6: Click “Start” to begin conversion.

6. Warranty
This product is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of the
original purchase. In the unlikely event of any defect arising due to
faulty materials or workmanship, the unit will be either replaced or
repaired free of charge (where possible) during this period. An
alternative product will be offered in case the product is no longer
available or repairable.

The warranty is in addition to, and does not diminish, your statutory or
legal rights.

This warranty is subject to the following conditions:
The warranty is only valid within the country where the product is
purchased.
The product must be correctly installed and operated in accordance
to the instructions given in this user manual.
The product must be used solely for domestic purposes.
The warranty only covers the main unit, and does not cover the
accessories.
The warranty does not cover the damage caused by misuse,
negligence, accident and natural disaster.
The warranty will be rendered invalid if the product is resold or has
been damaged by inexpert repairs. The manufactures disclaim any
liability for incidental or consequential damages.
Please consult our customer adviser before returning any product;
we are not responsible for any unexpected product returns.
Any faulty product must be kept and returned in the original
packaging with all the accessories and the original copy of the
purchase receipt.
