It is designed to operate in the 902MHz – 928 MHz frequency band. The module contains a separate radio microcontroller, flash storage, and arm processor, with the intention of connecting the AMI network for smart meter monitoring.
Powering Up the Module To power the S 201-0816 plug in a 5 volt USB power supply into the micro USB connector as shown below.   Federal Communication Commission Interference Statement This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:  1. This device may not cause harmful interference, and, 2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Integrator Documentation Requirements - FCC Radiation Exposure Statement The following statement must be visible on the end device or in the manual for the end device. This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with a distance of at least 20 cm between the radiator and your body. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
Installation of the Module The module is intended only for OEM integrators under the following conditions: 1. The antenna must be installed such that it is a distance of at least 20 cm between the antenna and users. 2. The antenna must not transmit simultaneously with any other antenna or transmitter, except in accordance with FCC multi transmitter product codes. 3. The module will only be installed in mobile applications as defined by part 2.1091(b). 4. Separate approval is required for all other operating configurations, including portable configurations with respect to CFR Title 47 Part 2.1093 and different antenna configurations 5. The host product manufacturer is responsible for ensuring that the final product with the module installed and fully operational complies with all applicable FCC equipment authorizations regulations, requirements and equipment functions. Refer to CFR Title 47 Part 2 Subpart J Equipment Authorization Procedures, KDB 784748 D01 V07 Labeling Guidelines, and KDB 997198 Importation Guidelines. Any changes or modifications of this product, not approved by manufacturer will void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.   The end user of the final product should not have access to any instructions on installation and un-installation of the module from its host device.  No installation or un-installation instructions will be provided to end user. The only instruction required by the end user is on how to power on the device.  End Product Labeling  The Radio module is authorized for use in a host device authorized by the original module manufacturers. The final end product must clearly identify that the end product contains an FCC approved RF module. The final host must be labeled with the following, or similar: “Contains FCC ID: SCLS2010816” “Contains IC: 4695A-S2010816”  The following statements must also be visible on the end device or in the manual for the end device.
