The CardioMessenger should switch itself on immediately, unless the batteries are completely depleted. A brief tone will sound when the CardioMessenger is switched on. If the batteries are completely depleted, then the CardioMessenger first charges itself and then switches itself on later (approximately after 30 minutes).
