The plug-and-play 2.4GHz remote control is the total solution for all of your remote control requirements. Just plug the receiver into the USB port of your Media Center PC and start to enjoy the complete wireless freedom of a whole new home entertainment experience. What’s in the Package 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. CD-ROM drive (for CD and Video operation) Hardware Installation Receiver Installation Plug the USB connector directly into an available USB port on your computer. Note: For optimum performance, keep a direct unobstructed line of sight between the receiver and the remote control. Battery Installation 1. Slide open the battery compartment cover and insert two AAA batteries. 2. To ensure that the batteries are installed correctly, follow the polarity signs in the battery compartment. 3. Replace the battery compartment cover. Notes on Batteries: 1. The device uses 2pcs standard UM-4 (AAA) 1.5V alkaline batteries. We recommend using alkaline batteries for a longer battery life. 2. Battery life is up to 6 months, depending on the intensity of usage. 3. Do not combine alkaline batteries with another type of battery. Also do not combine fresh batteries with used batteries. Always replace used batteries with fresh batteries of the same type. 4. Remove the batteries after long periods of non-use. Battery leakage or movement may damage the device, and may also be unsafe to handle. 3009ARF III Remote Control ID Pairing Information The remote control is ready for use as soon as you take it out of the box and plug the receiver USB connector into a USB port on your computer. If it does not work, you must configure the ID setting of the remote control, as described below. The position of ID/connect button is respectively located on the top of the dongle receiver and back of the remote control. An LED indicator under the receiver ID/connect button shows the pairing or data reception status. 1. Press and hold the ID/connect button on the receiver for at least 2 seconds, until the LED indicator on the receiver flashes. (If you release the button within 2 seconds, the ID pairing will fail.) 2. Hold the remote control within 30 cm of the dongle receiver. (Hold the remote control close to the receiver within 30 cm.) 3. Press and hold the connect button on the bottom of the remote control for at least 2 seconds, until the LED indicator on the receiver stops flashing. (If you release the button within 2 seconds, the ID pairing will fail.) 4. You can now begin using the remote control. Connect Button (With an LED indicator underneath) Connect Button NOTES: 1. Your computer must be turned on before you can perform this pairing procedure. 2. You must follow this procedure in order to complete ID pairing. 3. Each procedure should be completed within 60 seconds. 4. You do not need to pair IDs again after changing the batteries in the remote control. If the remote control does not work properly, please follow the ID pairing procedure above to configure the ID again. 3009ARF III Remote Control RemoteMaestro installation To input the text, please follow the process as below to install the “3009ARF 3_triple-tap reg” file to access the function of text button of remote control in Windows Media Center. 1. Insert the CD labeled “RemoteMaestro” into your CD-ROM drive. And follow the on screen instruction to install. 2. Double click “3009ARF III_triple-tap reg”, and the dialog box “Windows need your permission continue” pops up. To continue the next step, please click “Continue”. 3. Then, the “Registry Editor” dialog box will pop up to ask you if you want to continue the registry. Click “Yes” to continue. 4. Click “OK” to complete the registry. 3009ARF III Remote Control Remote Button Functions The remote control has one power button and six types of buttons for entering commands. Just connect the receiver with the USB port, point the remote control at the receiver, and you can start to access and manage your Media Center PC or other peripheral devices. No software or setup procedure is required! 3009ARF III Remote Control 1. Power Button Button 2. Control Task Power (Standby) Put the equipment in standby mode, depending on the power management setting of the system. Transport Control Buttons Transport control buttons allow you to control the media. Button Control Task Play Play the selected media. Pause Pause the currently playing media. Press Pause again to resume. Stop Stop the currently playing media. Record Record what you are currently watching to the disk. Rewind Rewind the currently playing media. If pressed repeatedly, cycles through three rewind speeds from slowest to fastest. Note: Rewind only support Video system. (It will be unavailable on Audio system.) Fast Forward Speed up the currently playing media. If pressed repeatedly, cycles through three fast forward speeds from slowest to fastest. Note: Fast Forward only supports Video system. (It cannot work on Audio system.) Skip Backward Skip to the previously playing media. Skip Forward Skip to the next playing media. 3009ARF III Remote Control 3. Navigation Control Buttons Navigation control buttons allow you to move between items on the screen. Button Control Green Start Button Task Open the Media Center Start menu. (MCE) Back More 4. Go to the previous screen. Display information about the selected item. Cursor Keys Move the cursor upward, downward, to the left, or to the right in a program guide or in menu screens. OK Select the highlighted option. Audio and Video Control Buttons Audio and video control buttons allow you adjust volume and change channels. Button Control Task Volume Up Adjust the volume up. Volume Down Adjust the volume down. Mute Turn the sound off. Press Mute again to resume. Ch Up Select the next higher channel. Ch Down Select the next lower channel. 3009ARF III Remote Control 5. Media Center Shortcut Buttons Media Center shortcut buttons allow you access various media experiences. Button Control Recorded TV 6. Task Bring up the Recorded TV page. Guide Bring up the electronic programming guide. Live TV Show live TV on the currently selected channel. DVD Menu Display the DVD menu. Music Display the Music Library. Pictures Display the Picture Library. Videos Display the Video Library. Radio Bring up the main Radio page. Numeric Keypad Numeric keypad is for entering alphanumeric characters or TV channels. Button 0-9 Task For entering text and TV channels. Insert a * symbol, if supported by the selected device. Insert a # symbol, if supported by the selected device. Clear (ESC) Enter Clear the setting / Exit the setting. Select the highlighted option. 3009ARF III Remote Control 7. Teletext Control Buttons The teletext button: red, green, yellow, and blue buttons on your remote control correspond to the same colored buttons on your TV. Note: Teletext buttons only present in European model. Button Task Toggle on/off the teletext. (Teletext on/off) Red Green Yellow Blue Jump to the teletext page which the Red color corresponds to. Jump to the teletext page which the Green color corresponds to. Jump to the teletext page which the Yellow color corresponds to. Jump to the teletext page which the Blue color corresponds to. Troubleshooting 1. Symptom: The remote control does not work properly, e.g. the remote control no longer works from a distance. Solution: y Unplug the connector and plug it back into the USB port. y Check that the batteries for the remote control are fresh and installed correctly. y For optimum performance, ensure that the remote control is pointed directly at the receiver and is within 10 meters of the receiver. 2. Symptom: The indicator light on the upper-left side of the remote control blinks when you press a button, but the selected component does not respond. Solution: Ensure that the remote control is pointed directly at the receiver and is within 10 meters of the receiver.
